"A Song of Ice and Fire (commonly abbreviated as ASoIaF) is an ongoing series of epic fantasy novels by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin. Martin began writing the series in 1991 and the first volume was published in 1996.
The story of A Song of Ice and Fire takes place in a fictional world, primarily on a continent called Westeros but also on a large landmass to the east, known as Essos. Most of the characters are human but as the series progresses others are introduced, such as the cold and menacing supernatural Others from the far North and fire-breathing dragons from the East, both thought to be extinct by the humans of the story. There are three principal story lines in the series: the chronicling of a dynastic civil war for control of Westeros among several competing families; the rising threat of the Others, who dwell beyond an immense wall of ice that forms Westeros' northern border; and the ambition of Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled daughter of a king who was murdered in another civil war fifteen years before, to return to Westeros and claim her rightful throne. As the series progresses, the three story lines become increasingly interwoven and dependent upon each other."

IDG is god tier 😉; though in all seriousness , ridiculously knowledgeable , very positive & welcoming person and community there , super consistent in terms of releasing content (frequency and quality). And Robert seems to be one of the nicest people on RUclips ; no drama , stays away from all that (drama , arguing & in-fighting etc) and does not engage or create any of that himself. Top class content creator on all fronts.

Odd, listening to History of Westeros for well over a decade. They are probably the first ones who really did ASOIAF youtube regularly. Still the best long form content out there, so much so that Alt-Shift X has name dropped them for giving him ideas for years. They also make a lot of In Deep Geek's videos, so odd to put Robert up there and not Aziz and Ashaya.
Anyway heck of a list you got there kiddo. Anyone who loves tin foil mental asylum escapees Order of the Green Hand is kosher.

History of Westeros has been trash for years, especially how they tried to get Preston's channel down and actively keep people from mentioning Preston's ideas on forums and sub-reddits because they're friends with all the mods. Aziz has also been going around Twitter complaining about how he read the books years before Preston did. The dude is a child who thinks hes better than he is but has been at the same sub level for years.

What's the joke behind Order of the Green hand? Is it like a terrible/corporate channel or something?
Mostly their stuff is bat shit insane
As far as i remember it was an independent channel , the two of them ran together. They had some out there theories but also some really interesting ones as well. They had a couple super early ones they were criticized for but ended up being correct about ; Aegon I's prophecy comes to mind which was revealed on HotD S1. I am pretty sure OotGH put that out as a theory like 6 or 7 years ago. Don't know every content creator's theories about everything but didn't recall anyone else putting that out there, especially that far back , if at all. Some of their theories were out there but they def knew ASOIAF extremely thoroughly.
The takes/theories Haven mentioned in the video are genuine takes they have.
Also lots of Andals/Fate of the Seven bad stuff.
One thing I remember from them is "Fate of the Seven has Stranger which is a death god = Many faced god = the Great Other".
Also something like Ancient First Men = Great Empire of the Dawn = Ancient Valyrians iirc.

04:45 I used to follow David until I mentioned Company of the Cat to him and he went off talking about how she hates him and his theories and I was like "whoa..." I've watch all her videos and I can't remember anything like that in them. Someone gifted me a RUclips membership to his channel so despite unsubscribing I still get notified for posts about the discord and stuff. Can't wait for the month to end so that stops.
Yeah, I used to follow him too. But I unsubscribed before even knowing of CotC. The guy is just way too obsessed with that occult stuff. Apparently he also had a controversy going on with his former co-host.
CotC is based though. I mean, how do you even get the idea that Lann the Clever is the son of Rowan Goldentree or that Garth the Green was not one but three weirwoods that are one being?
