I own both of these TV's along with last year's 7 series, the U7H. 2023's model the U7K 75" that I own looks very close on brightness to the U8H in a side by side comparison, especially when it's put in Filmmaker Mode and it's Local Dimming is placed on High. I noticed you have it set on Medium, the difference between those I have found is about 150+ nits of brightness.. and you have it in the Day Theater mode and on Standard instead of Warm 1 where you get a more pure white balance. You're not taking full advantage of what this TV can do. I've spent weeks on getting mine dialed in and it's very impressive, especially for it's price point vs value. I'm very pleased, and I've very much a fan of the high end Sony OLED's which i also use as a main driver. But the U7K does a great job hanging in there for a VA panel Mini-LED TV.

Today is black Friday, 2023 and I just purchased the Hisense 75" 75U7K online for $900 + tax. The 75U8K was selling for $1300. Based on your excellent comparison here, the brightness difference was not enough to warrant a $400 price difference and the U7K was even winning in some respects. Interestingly, I later discovered the 85U7H was also selling for the same price ($900) on the same site I just got the u7K from. It was too big for my wall, else I might have canceled my order and gone with the larger unit. When there is nothing to compare sitting next to a TV, the picture quality ain't so bad. :) @TechSteve, I commend you on whatever camera you're using to film. Very clear video, as is needed for these detailed comparisons. Thanks for your efforts and expertise.

Oh yeah definitely , definitely. U7K is still REALLY good. VA panel, MINI LD(QLED technology) than traditional QLED. 1200 peak brightness, 500 local dimming. Like insane value. It’s equivalent like $2000-3000 Sony still. But i wont even buy SONY cuz their colors r VERY OFF, unlike SONY in the 1990s.
That’s why I showed the brightness difference and mentioned the nits. 1000 is extremely bright but comparatively with the same brand it shows you how much more 1500 nit lights up the TV

What about HDR Standard vs HDR Day vs HDR Night vs HDR Dynamic in Hisense TV for PS5 Gaming??
Hi can anyone tell me whats the difference between hisense u6k with 4 hdmi ports and hisense u6k with 3 hdmi ports thank you
I’m gutted, to be honest this was a great video but the picture quality on both TV’s in the video has put me off buying either now.🤔 I might have to try the TCL.
It’s a recording, go to a store
I just bought a U7K. 4K Netflix videos have a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen while other videos are full screen. Is this normal?
It’s the movie recorded in anamorphic
@@TechSteve Okay, thanks. I just noticed that it wasn't all 4K videos as I stated but simply some videos were full screen while others had the black bar at the top and bottom.
Nonetheless, I really love the picture of this U7K and even the audio without a sound.. And the $300 price difference between the U7K and U8K to me during Christmas made the U7K such a great value.
Is 55" of those TV's also have a VA panels?
carful its different tv in few country for the 2022 (u8h)
for u7k and other "k" its the same.
european u8h is totally different with 112 zone and ips panel (horrible blooming) when have more 500 zones and va panel in usa
Where on my particular U8H TV do I locate the number of dimming zones it has? 🤔
@@jahloman2127 wich size?
@@jahloman2127 You can check on youtube, there is a video to count dimming zone (a white square moving on a black picture).
its better than check on the net.
my old u8hq (european model) has 120 on the net but has 112 in real.
my new u7k they said 240 and have really 240
@jahloman2127 google search
My 2022 Hisense U8H in 55" Screen Size Already After 1 Year Has Some Dead/Dark Spots On The Screen. I Don't Know If It's Because Of Some L.E.D.s Have Died Out Or What But It Is Very Visible When The Screen Is Bright and White. When It Comes To Dark Scenes It's Still a Fantastic Picture Especially In Theatre Mode. I'm Probably Going To Purchase The U7K in 55" Next Year To Replace My U8H Only Because I Can Only Imagine Those Dark Spots Are Probably Only Going To Get Worse Especially If It's Because The L.E.D.s Are Slowly Burning Out.
Idk if I would ever buy another Hisense. I had 2 H65 70' and 75' and they're both trashed non fixable after 2yrs of use.
That is my worry. I think I may just buy the U7 since its a good price to me in case, its crap. If lasts 3 or more years, it can go to bedroom TV duty and I can get the UK11 lol
Damn thats what I was wondering. They have a 65inch u8h for sale for 800 at some store here and I'm debating getting it but never had a hisense before
@@gabrielgalaxygh try tcl. That's what I replaced the Hisense with.
How to you get to the menu to turn of the FPS in the corner of your screen permanently?
Nice video keep up the good work Tech Steve
I appreciate it bro
I was in the same dilemma early in this year
When BestBuy dropped the price on the Hisense U8H is was no brainer
What did you decide
I bought the u7k, but it gives black screen (The screen flashes black when starting a preview of a video) when previewing videos on Netflix, amazon_prime and RUclips, you know how to solve?
All TVs do that for content matching
@@TechSteve No, my previous LG that broke the screen didn't. When I say that the screen goes black in a preview it is not only in that video window it is the whole screen.
@ElionildoMiranda look for match content and turn it off, but the TV will not maximize the picture quality
but the u8h is hardly available nowadays. The 55" brand new isn't sold anywhere
I don’t see all of those picture settings for my u7k someone help
On the u8h can you see the information on the TV while watching streaming services? Like how you can in game information?
Haven’t tried
@@TechSteve can you please check because I have a Vizio and it has a button that shows information and if I'm watching a show on any streaming platform I press it and it shows 1080p or 2160 and If it's hdr or Dolby vision and the 60hz and I wanted to know if u8h does this as well please can you check it would be very helpful please
@Whoan00 that pops up when it loads content, but I haven’t see a dedicated button
@@TechSteve no I could press the button anytime and the info will appear on top of screen I really love that feature and just want to know if the u8h has that feature if not on a button can it be looked up on the settings or something
I was gona get U7K 100" but seeing the lack of brightness, Its a no go for me.
Thanks Steve.
Over 1000 nits is plenty bright
Great video
Great Review!!!!
Thank you for your videos. 😊
U7K is currently over a grand for a 65" and the U8H is sitting at $890 🤔
Maybe it’s a way to move old inventory out
U8h - Hands down! 👌🏼👍🏼
Hisense or tcl which is better in tv?
Those are not TVs those are companies
@@TechSteveI guess he mean which companies make the better TVs in your opinion
They both makes 6-12 TVs there’s no clear answer
The u8h also has a 3.0 tv tuner because I can get the new stations on it
Tech Steve has been here all along, where have I been?
That's no ones business, you're here now
how come not this years u8?
The comparisons between the two sets is in direct conflict with other reviews I saw where both sets were almost identical, with the U7K actually showing more detail. I thought I had made up my mind, now I'm not so sure.
We all have our opinions, I don’t calibrate or anything and I’m honestly as I can be. I use a high quality camera as well so if you think I’m wrong you can see what I see.
listen other review.
first because same if he use a good camera, tvs are in the same video so its a very bad thing. need look in real OR capture the tvs with 2 video and mount with a software to post a side by side video.
the other thing, if i understand correctly he dont change any setup and can be an honest thing, but in real he have to put the tv with the same setup.
here, tvs have a different setup.
just an example and i have 2 hisense: medium local dimming is darker than maximum. its an error need same setup to compare.
@SimonWoodburyForget these videos are to give people an idea of what TVs looks like and everything I say is my own opinion. You can always go to a local store if you think what I’m saying is untrue. Sorry you wasn’t happy with my comparison there’s plenty of content online for you to enjoy. Have a great day
Thanks bro, I’ve tried 10 different ways to film, people complain that I changed the brightness to match and started this huge tread, you probably didn’t know that. I film at factory settings now, because this is what you get out of the box. This is what works for now no complaints or interesting comments that go viral. Lol
@@TechSteve hi, why dont take 1 video per tv and make 1 side by side video with a software.
With this method, brightness difference is closer than in real
great video holy cow.
Thanks
How do you enable the HDR on the U7K?
The TV is already HDR you just have to play a source like Disney+, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc….
hi how do you upload hdr video on youtube?
Edit and export in HDR in your editing software plus you need to film in HLG
hi brother, does U7K has an eARC port?
Yes, all high end TVs has that
@@TechSteve thanks a million brother for quick response, one more query if you don't mind 😅- which one is better Hisence E7k pro or U7K ? (in terms of picture quality)
@vaibhavpriyansh812 I live in the us so I don’t know some models
@@TechSteve no problem 😊
tons of love from India ❤️
U7k ips or va penal
nice video information love from india
😢😢😢 I just bought u7k, I forgot about the nits thing.... I should wait abit
Honestly the U7H is a great tv but next to U8H its simply unfair.
IS U7K good to buy, In India they launched only U7K
Oh yeah definitely , definitely. U7K is still REALLY good. VA panel, MINI LD(QLED technology) than traditional QLED. 1200 peak brightness, 500 local dimming. Like insane value. It’s equivalent like $2000-3000 Sony still. But i wont even buy SONY cuz their colors r VERY OFF, unlike SONY in the 1990s.
what about 85 inch, i am buying 85 inch tv@@birdtj82
The u7k looks so dim . I've seen other reviews and it doesnt look like that
That’s why I showed the brightness difference and mentioned the nits. 1000 is extremely bright but comparatively with the same brand it shows you how much more 1500 nit lights up the TV
u8h looks oled quality picture !!!
What's the width of the table here? 11:12
Steve, can i have your comment about Caleb (Digital Trends) video and promise that you want end up like that when you hit 1M subsribers.
I’m the same guy since 0 subs and will be the same with a million but more stressed out.
What happened to Caleb?
No fin way u7k is that dark
When you record you have to adjust the camera to the brightest screen or it blows out the footage. It’s perfectly fine on both
@@TechSteve ah yes video makes u7k look so dim
@djbpresents9584 i made a video where i adjusted the brightest tv to match and people where 😡 so it is what it is. Just remember it’s nothing like seeing it for yourself live
@@TechSteve yea I saw Brians techtherapy video he has great comparison full HDR gaming side by side. Obv flag ship looks better but u7k seems to be pretty great and maybe if u can get 65 inch there versus 55 u8 just go bigger if it fits ya budget
I seen u8k in best buy other day and I was stunned how good it looked and I own a c1
These Hisense Tvs have a nice picture image however Hisense Tvs don't last and service and parts are hard to come by.
