Love that you don’t spend the first minutes of your videos saying “ hello” to viewers and updating people how your dog/cat/child is! Your videos are CAS just like your cards!! Thank you.
What a cool technique! I've never heard of it before, it's elegant. I have blue stayzon and blue mirror, can't wait to see how it looks in real life. Thank you for your inspiring videos.
Thanks again Chris for another great video. I’ve never seen this technique before so am very grateful to you for re-visiting old techniques, as they will probably be new to some card makers xx
Thank you so much Christine, I really really enjoyed watching you demonstrate this Black Ice technique. It’s fascinating and amazing too, but, I’m not sure about it. I could certainly see your Stamped flower but, I really don’t think I’d do something like this. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Beautiful. One thing I love about crafting is how techniques come around again, I think we forget more than we remember. RUclips has such a wide variety of crafters that can inspire you to move out of your comfort zone and do something different. Thank you x
Happy Sunday, Christine. Great technique. Your last comment about it looking great with Christmas trees really got me inspired. I have quite a lot of mirror card in various colors. I'm anxious to see how they would come out. And, even though it's called Black Ice, I know Staz-on comes in various colors and I think I'd like to try a green on green maybe. I'm just going to try a small piece of colored mirror to start as silver may be the preferred way to go and, of course, I don't want to waste my precious mirror card!
RE: MARRED METALLIC CARD STOCK …. Christine, I’m not sure if YOUR DieCutting/Embossing machine can handle this, but another y.t.’r has shared with us that we crafters could EXTEND the USEFUL LIFE of our CUTTING PLATES, if we use two layers of PLASTIC SHEETING (like the kind that’s sold here in the States by the yard for table coverings) OR HEAVY PLASTIC BAGS (that bedding is sold in). Each layer is placed against one of the cutting plate’s “inner” sides, with the die and cardstock sandwiched between. The plastic sheets become sacrificial, and are to be replaced over time, but they save the original cutting plates and help keep metallic card stock from being marred. AN ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE M A Y BE that the GREEK KEY die you showed us recently MAY ACTUALLY CUT using this sandwich!
I have taken to using vellum as a barrier between the die and the top plate to a) protect the top plate from indentations and b) To prevent the indentations transferring to a new piece of card. Your suggestion has me wondering if I should use a piece of Mylar instead, although the vellum helps considerably. Thank you
@@Chrissieannie Whatever works, Kiddo. As I have some “cheapo” chinese dies that don’t cut well, it seems to be a boon to have this bit of extra “squish” for the die to bite into to achieve the cut. In truth we get what we pay for, but some of these were just SOOO stinkin’ cute I couldn’t pass them up!! And I hadn’t seen them in “legitimate” retail venues. Anyway …. Love ya, Girl, and THOROUGHLY enjoy spending my evenings learning from you! Be well.
Too Cool!!!😎 This technique’s new to me, Thanks for sharing!!! I’m trying to watch all your videos, time permitting. I think I know why your # of likes went down, some folks maybe forgetting to press like coz I’ve noticed that I’ve commented on your previous videos but I forgot to click like. I’ll be sure to go through your older videos & check it, sorry about that Ms. Chrissie. Bye for now👋🏻
Good ole black ice technique! I always loved this as it has such a wow factor! Maybe Christmas ornaments would look good with different colors using black ice technique. Gonna have to try it. Thanks for this Sunday video.
Fabulous. Thank you so much! I think, for smaller pieces, I could lightly tape the cardstock to the work surface in order to drag the pads across. Then I wouldn't have to work around my fingers trying to hold it still. I'll try this!
Hi. Thank you for sharing this amazing technique and the stunning card you've made using it. Once again you have really given me food for thought and some of the commenters have piled on some extra, too. 😃
Gosh! it’s absolutely ages since I have done that. Thank You for reminding me of that Technique. It’s funny how we all get carried away with what’s in Vogue "right now"! Patricia 💕
Oh wow. Thank you Christine. What a beautiful card. I could see it perfectly and it looks wonderful. I’ve tried to master this technique in the past but to no avail. Thank you for your clear and concise instructions. Love to you and to all - Dawn 🌅
Do you have the name of A SPECIFIC BRAND of DIMENSIONAL you used? The reason I ask is I’m pretty sure the purpose of the plastic inner cover is to keep the pad from drying out. BUT if the Dimensionals are t o o s h o r t, they’d cause a slight gap because they’d hold the inner cover too high up in the cover cavity. Thanks for bearing with me on this “technical question”. 😔 🙏
Love that you don’t spend the first minutes of your videos saying “ hello” to viewers and updating people how your dog/cat/child is! Your videos are CAS just like your cards!! Thank you.
Thanks so much🖤🤍🖤
What an amazing idea. It is beautiful, simple but has a “wow” factor. Thank you for sharing your wonderful techniques.

Oooo …. With Snowflakes??
I have a Birch Press layered Die which might look rather cool!

I know what you mean, my head is fair spinning with the possibilities.
What a great idea! I’m imagining a peacock green would be gorgeous.
Ooh, ooh, I’m thinking COPPER mirror with. RED Staz-On? There’s a red Staz-On, right??
@@kkrolf2782 I think they do have red but I just bought an orange one for my copper mirror card. Christine is always so inspiring!
Thank you for teaching us that technique!

I think purple should look great! 🖤🖤🖤
@@Chrissieannie well it's purple or green. Lol the 2 colors I have. If I like it I may invest in another color.

Hint for your stazon plastic clear cover. If you put 2 dimensions on top and attach to the black lid.
