Meet Esma Alagöz, a woman entrepreneur whose textile business flourished with the support of a grant from the Swedish-funded UNDP program. Esma used the grant to invest in new equipment which will revive her business after the earthquake and maintain her workforce. Starting from a housewife background, Esma has since expanded her business to include export activities, demonstrating her remarkable journey of resilience and growth in the industry. Esma, along with 256 other women-led small businesses, has not only reopened their businesses in Kahramanmaraş but has also emerged as a symbol of resilience and determination thanks to a cash grant from the UNDP initiative funded by Sweden.
