I'm headed back down to Mexico. I lived there for 7 years and I've been back in the USA for a year too long. My family is looking for a dirt cheap country village to live in. Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers.
I have a home in Chapala Jalisco near Ajijic that will always be my first suggestion but there are many nice places in Mexico to go back to. You have San Miguel de Allende, Puerto Vallarta which I love too, Mexico City, Merida. It really is based on what the style of life your looking for. For dirt cheap places they are everywhere like down town Guadalajara but you do get what you pay for.
Hahahaha the cartoons about the "special deal" at the timeshare 😂 yessssss they got us at Laguna Shores, so we have a share there but Never again ! Definitely big "live and learn" experience

We used to stay at Marina Pinacate for Thanksgiving weekend when we were home (AZ) its so cute. Someday try to stay at La Princessa or any of the Sonoranan resorts on the other side of Sandy Beach, the beach is much softer sand than the Pinacate side . Im so glad you cover Puerto Penasco! It's not as nice as many other magical places in Mexico but its got its a small special hidden gem in the desert and a very special place to my family ❤ yes Lukeville is always a great, safe border to pass through. I prayed so hard for that entrance to reopen after this disastrous administration in the USA had it shut down due to their terrible policies. Anyone that can go support Puerto Peñasco, its an answered prayer because so many Mexican and USA citizens suffered and got put very far behind because of that border closing when it did. For cheap food try Poblanos tacos the one on the main street coming in near and on the same side as Sams Club. Amazing taquitos and cheap beans and quesadillas for cheap , great little family taquito stand set up on a concrete slab with shade. Even a small restroom in the back (if its still the same as the last time we were there) ok you did mention a Poblanos I wonder if its the same one we love (there are 2 or 3 there) it may be the same because they dont have much variety but if you want carne asada and quesadillas & we bring our drinks, its the spot!
