Post Joshua. I know that are controversial but it’s a story line, the bottomed portion of my tattoo is the four bourses of apocalypse, the it’s Satan being put in Hell Revelations 20, the Jesus as king ( lion of Judah) that part can’t be seen most of the one because of my shirt. But the skulls part is where Satan is being put in the pit of hell.
@@yeshuaismyredeemer I’m not sure if this is controversial, but the scripture in Leviticus 19:28 is clear: "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord." (KJV). What really stands out to me in this verse is the phrase "...I am the Lord" that follows the command. This is not just a casual guideline-it's a divine decree. When God follows up a commandment with "I am the Lord," it's a powerful assertion that we should take seriously. It seems to emphasize that it's not about our interpretation or how we feel about it; it’s about how God sees it. When it comes to tattoos, many people focus on their personal reasons or cultural significance. But the real question we should ask is, "What does it mean to God?" If the verse didn’t end with “I am the Lord,” perhaps it would leave room for individual interpretation or justification. But because it does, it signals that this is a matter of divine will, not human opinion. I know that intentions matter, but we have to be cautious not to confuse good intentions with what’s right in God's eyes. As I once heard, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." I’m not suggesting you're heading down the wrong path, but it’s worth considering that even well-meaning actions can miss the mark when weighed against God's explicit commands. I understand that some argue that this is "Old Testament" law, replaced or superseded by the New Testament. However, this line of thinking overlooks a key point: when Paul instructed Timothy to "study the scriptures" (2 Timothy 3:16), the New Testament didn’t even exist yet. What was considered “scripture” at the time was the Old Testament. So, the idea that the Old Testament laws are irrelevant doesn’t hold when we recognize that they were still considered foundational by early Christians. To me, the words “I am the Lord” are the key to understanding this command. They underscore that it’s not about individual opinions or cultural shifts. It’s a direct statement from God, and we should reflect on what that means for our actions. Blessings, JH
@@jh6392if you read the verse it’s actually speaking about “for the dead” it is in reference to mourning practices done in that day that included marking, cutting and bloodletting during the mourning time period after you lost someone you loved. It’s a historical reference that probably has more to do with the practice we call “cutting” today. Plus “two or three witnesses” must be taken into consideration and it is not spoken about again beyond Leviticus. The Bible is fine with piercing as a symbol and an adornment put on you by God himself (more spiritual but as it is in Heaven so it is on earth as a representation) but also says the piercing can ripped from you not representing God well and basically getting too prideful (another spiritual lesson) Blessings and shalom to you!
@@jh6392 I understand. But let me ask you this. Jesus said if your eye makes you sin, pluck it out, if your hand makes you sin cut it off. Are you willing to do any of those two? Has your eye or hand made you sin? What Jesus said is figure of speech, and example. To understand this you have to read the full counsel of God. The Old Testaments spoke of markings and tattoos as a form of worship to other gods. Didn’t necessarily condemn it. In the Old Testament it also says of a woman is caught in adultery she must be put to death. Yet when Jesus was asked He said the one with out sin throw the first stone. As the story goes. No one threw the first stone. And Jesus asked her to sin no more. If you want to follow one point of the law then you must be willing to to follow all of it. Today we live by faith in Jesus, does this give us the freedoms to sin of course not. Tattoos if you follow closely the laws were not part of the the commandments. There is so much to say I hope you also don’t get offended. If my tattoos offended you I’m sorry they did. I hope we can understand each other. Salvation is by Christ and Him alone not by works. God bless
@@yeshuaismyredeemer I understand your perspective, but the scripture in Leviticus 19:28 is explicit: “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.” This isn’t open to personal interpretation. The phrase “I am the Lord” underscores that it’s not about our feelings or cultural norms-it’s about God’s authority. While some dismiss this as “Old Testament,” Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 3:16 that all scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching. The moral principle of honoring God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) still stands, regardless of changing times. Furthermore, salvation is indeed by grace, but James 2:26 is clear that “faith without works is dead.” If our actions don’t align with God’s commands, then we are producing the wrong fruit. It’s not enough to claim freedom in Christ and ignore what He asks of us. Paul says, “All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful” (1 Corinthians 10:23). Tattoos may not send you to hell, but the question is whether they glorify God or reflect rebellion against His clear word. We are called to obey, not justify. In regards to @crazyazmommy, their argument actually reinforces the point I’m making. When they focus on the phrase “for the dead,” they’re selectively interpreting scripture to justify their own actions. Let’s apply the same logic to this: “You shall not commit adultery for money, nor commit fornication.” Although this is not scripture, but let us say it is for the sake of the logic, would this mean that adultery or fornication is acceptable as long as it isn’t for money? Of course not. The moral law stands regardless of the specific circumstances mentioned. Leviticus 19:28 is not just about mourning practices-it’s a broader command against marking the body, and the addition of “for the dead” does not negate the overall instruction. If you need further evidence, look to the Jewish interpretation of this commandment. Jews, who have lived by these scriptures for millennia, do not tattoo their bodies. Their understanding has always been that this is a prohibition against all forms of marking, regardless of intent. This is a strong indicator that the correct interpretation is that no tattoos are allowed, period. Finally, I highly doubt God desires to see His temple (our bodies) adorned with skulls, regardless of the justification offered. The temple is meant to be a reflection of His holiness, not our personal stories or symbols. Blessings and I am sorry if I come across as harsh, Dr. Huerta

Blessings,
JH
@@jh6392if you read the verse it’s actually speaking about “for the dead” it is in reference to mourning practices done in that day that included marking, cutting and bloodletting during the mourning time period after you lost someone you loved. It’s a historical reference that probably has more to do with the practice we call “cutting” today. Plus “two or three witnesses” must be taken into consideration and it is not spoken about again beyond Leviticus. The Bible is fine with piercing as a symbol and an adornment put on you by God himself (more spiritual but as it is in Heaven so it is on earth as a representation) but also says the piercing can ripped from you not representing God well and basically getting too prideful (another spiritual lesson)
Blessings and shalom to you!
Blessings and I am sorry if I come across as harsh,
