- In this episode of Cities Skylines 2, we create a pedestrian-friendly community housing project.
The beginning: • Starting a New City in...
In this episode of Sunny Isle, we tackle the growing demand for housing by creating a modular residential block using the French asset pack. Balancing density with open spaces, design car-free communal areas, and incorporate pedestrian-friendly paths to build a vibrant, livable city.

Love the story about the communal spaces. For the trash containers, I would position it in a way where a garbage truck can access and empty - so facing towards the center aisle with space for the truck to turn
So simple in one way, just a path, some grass,, but so functional in reality even and beautiful in game!
Reminds me very much like our housing commission area here in city. Well done
wow cool build, i love those detailer builds in CS1 and CS2
Yes, yes, yes. This is beautiful 👏
My recommendation is to replace the palm trees with trees that provide shade.
As someone who grew up in a sunny country, shade is very much needed to enjoy communal space in summer.
Good idea! I’ll be sure to include some more trees in the next one! 🌳
1. I'd add a small and quiet corner shop/general store at the edge of the parking lot. I know North Americans will hate me for this 😫🙏
2. Although these assets are beautiful, they look more like a college dorm than an apartment. I'd prefer buildings with balconies for this build.
3. No one likes to have a view of the parking lot, especially people on the ground floor. I'd do that tree separation in the middle by putting the parking lot at the end and adding the path.
A local store would be great!
This looks amazing, I often forget to detail around places like this
Love it. Simple but creative!
Thank you!
i love your videos!
very nice desigh with french appartmens and nice community space,,good mayor ,you care about your people 👍👍👍👍
YES NEW SUNNY
I find myself always trying to workout new little apartment complexes. Ever tried your hand at a "high end" complex? I did one that I used the community pool as the centerpiece and built around it from there.
Enjoying your content!
Not yet! The travel companies have yet to stumble upon the golden beaches of Sunny Isle but once they do, you bet they’ll be stacking them condos in!
Great and short, i am a happy new subscriber
Looks amazing!
Awesome build!
Lovely ❤
Yeah it's gonna need a few more grime and road stain decals to look believable.... especially around the garbage bins... lol. Cute little build.
Wait until you see their cleaning bill! 🙈
Very nice! Done differently? Possibly left small breaks in the hedges along the car park that are closest to the buildings, so that the doors don't open on to the hedge. Oh, and not done it half as nicely of course. Assets? Yes. Details? Hmmm... must do better Tiggs.
Insert *Homer Simpson backing up into a bush* meme
The one issue is that some of the parts of the lower floors might not get a lot of daylight because the buildings are casting shadows on each other (especially with the inner rectangular building)
Why not just use find it / devmode item menu to place down the correct buildings from the beginning? :)
Find it is good for small areas, though when you eventually start zoning large areas it helps to understand what kinds of buildings will pop up.
lovely
Lovely
First 🥇
Next time I think it will be perfectly fine if you just go on to talk about your build without a script. It sounds kinda forced... (I know this was probably for one time because of the audio not being recorded)
I really liked the script!
Thank you for your feedback! We will have longer regular episodes in the coming weeks; we are just mixing things up a little
