This video felt way too short because I had a blast watching it! Honestly, I wouldn't mind a 50-minute video just about improving the transit system in Sunny Isle. Maybe it’s a good time to wrap up that high-speed rail line too? Cheers!
The one-way network you had into the old town looked more realistic. It is like this all over Europe, and deleting the waterfront promenade was a set back in my opinion. A bus route connecting the exsisting tram line would bettwer fit the old town. Also the promenade was bustling.
Great episode as usual, but why so many lanes in such historic place? Also, maybe extend Tram Lane to the back of the Old Town but leave the "main" tram stop where it is currently ending? I can think of it as being some sort of waiting/switching stop, so that the tram driver would change position from current back to current front of tram without so much people wanting to enter the vehicle. Cant wait for the next episode :D
traffic adjustments are so satisfying to watch! Love to see you road manage, turning leftover spaces into plazas and gentrifying the area one plot at a time. Makes for a very dynamic series.
Your video was thrown at me by the RUclips algorithm and I am so thankful for it, such a good build. Making a quick construction site to replace the dezoned buildings is genius, I never thought of doing that. Subscribed!
This doesn't feel like the same CS2 as when it was first released. The developers have done a really good job in recent months at making this game feel alive. This was such a beautiful play!
Cmon, adding 5 lanes of traffic straight into the direcct center of town? On a street that already has trams? You should be focusing on a concentric system of ring roads, with a further and further limited car access after each ring(highway->main road->main street with lower and lower speeds, less thru traffic thru each ring, less parking etc)
Looks great man. You managed to make such a small build episode incredibly cinematic. Inspiring as always. I wouldve just ran the tram all the way up to the top or tried retrofitting a train line somewhere around the mountain just to try and make something really cool.
Really like the waterfront boulevard, especially the small custom roundabout. For the naming scheme of the trams, I think calling them "Light Rail" would be fine? They seemed kind of a modern addition to the city thus it (may) make more sense for them being called Light Rail instead of trams.
Honestly fits the style of a light rail most. It's just in that perfect limbo between "needs gates and fences and covered platforms" and "we can just stop it in the middle of the street and let them cross traffic". Take a look at places like Portland, Oregon, and you'll see how similar it is to light rail. Nonetheless, interesting video!
loved the detailing, and especially the public transport section. id love to see you build park and rides at the outskirts of town with public transport going into the city core
I agree, and I actually like how cs2 simulates this as seen in the timestamps. Car traffic wasn't a problem in this episode to begin with, it was just that people were moved inefficiently and transit pedestrian roads unaccessible to cars would have done it
yeah I feel like the Taxis were the problem, and public transport would have solved the demand for Taxis. Making the street more accessible to Cars wasn't the solution
I don’t know what your attitude is towards landscaping, but I’d like to see the beach restored along that new boulevard. I think mirroring the style of the Hudson River Park in NYC along that road could also be an interesting development. At least one to check out as a reference!
I reckon not sure how, but using the underground road that goes around the island could help with traffic flow? So some traffic can flow into other parts of the city.
Great video, as always! However, I don't really agree with your choices... You created a beautiful historic center, full of people walking around, tourists, and a lovely pedestrian waterfront... Then you destroyed everything to build a six-lane road 😂 ... It feels like an "american" choice and not very "european" to be honest... I would have made the entire historic center pedestrian-only, with access limited to emergency vehicles, and ensured effective connections with public transportation instead (tram, bus, metro...). Sorry, but I'm not really convinced!
Hey, great video, the newly upgraded road feel a little to big for the city but we'll road always feel big in Cs2 but I was wondering if the road builder tool could allow you to put the band for the tram stop between the rail and have the stop here? So you end up with a single walkable band instead of 2 massive one, I have that in my city when they did not have as much space for 2 opposite station
There are a few, Lumina for colour management; Move It for transforming objects; Find It (search and eyedropper icons) for finding and placing objects - one those?
Nice city, but it needs a highway through it. You can only carry on so much with avenues past certain population. This game has a lot of traffic per person
any thoughts on taking the tram into the pedestrian streets? no cars to cause conflict with Also, maybe take the large lot near the fire station and civic quarter and put a signature building as the parliament/government headquarters for the country/territory/whatever?
Vehicle speed is quite slow on pedestrian streets, which can cause trams to slow down too. I don't mind using it for short sections, but I like the high speed of the dedicated tramway

Yeah like Infrastructurist
Honestly I dont get how he only has got 5k subs and 2k views as by now... the video quality is so much better than most other cs2 videos online

Look at old towns in places that aren't Paris, etc. and you'll see this isn't at all far fetched.

Frankly, such a large road in a historic downtown aera seems out of place

It makes me mad lol, the extra lanes were really unneccesary
i could stare at this thumbnail for minutes. this scene is just that good!
This series is so good and the detail is nice
Really love the detailings. I definitely could see that you put a lot of mind on it. Look forward to seeing more beautiful additions to your city!

this city reminds me of Constanta from Romania

You could maybe do a four lane road with tram tracks and the track lane would be used only by the services besides the trams themselves
Great video!
0:30 vs 27:27 Looks like you've successfully made traffic worse. Every urban planner's dream ;)
I guess he induced demand
more lanes = more cars using it = more traffic. increased capacity does not necessarily equal less traffic

Wouldn't the tram line look so good travelling further into the island along the coast (using the current waterfront park)?
I love making my tram tracks run at the side of the road, but I've never thought to do it with the 4 lane road before
Those roads are WIIIIIIIIDE!
Nothing like destroying homes to build a highway really smacks of suburbization of urban cores.
Reckon there must be a high speed train station project coming soon...
That's a neat tram station that you've got in the thumbnail.
What a build! Just subbed
i like every part in video, great design ,how fixt the traffic with trams and busses. very nice city ,great work 👍👍👍👍
I love the boulevard but could you please add more trees? Big oaks will do its very grey now.
What an amazing build!

Hey, where can i get the stair asset at 0:23
They’re custom props by HarbourMasterJay, I grabbed them from Sully’s Discord server - it’s a local mod, not on PDX
great work
How many tails are playable in Cities Skyline 2? Are all available tiles playable? or only some?
I think about 520, but they’re a different size than CS1
Fiddly problem, elegantly solved 👏

Where do I get this notre dame church?? I don't understand where to find it
18:41 you can try flag poles instead of gas bottles
I’ll check it out, thanks!
What is your Lumina configuration?
I've checked out your mod list. Can you tell me which mod you're using that's in the bottom-right corner?

There are rumours of a highway ring road in the works
please ringroad, not trough the city. It's called induced demand/traffic generation. Maybe the goal should be to move people, not cars.
