I am an Indian human being. And despite spending my time here in this very wonderful city to work in Kuwait city, this Kuwait city will be appreciated as much as it is in my words. And when I leave Kuwait for my home city of Delhi, there is only one aircraft which is a Kuwaiti aircraft, the sub-service of this aircraft is very good and excellent. And one important thing I try to say to all the travelers is that whenever youKuwaiti plane if you decide to travel from Kuwait. Very nice and excellent is awesome. ❤❤
Hi there, I'm a kuwaiti here and I hope you enjoyed your time here in Kuwait and flying on Kuwait Airways. the part about the coffee bit is actually cultural, in Kuwait we pour you a little coffee so you would order more and stay for longer, it's a sign of respecting the guest and honouring him. Actually pouring a full cup of coffee to people in official events (weddings, Eid Gatherings, Election Candidates events, etc...) is considered an insult (because it's like you saying here's your coffee now please leave).
Thats good to know! Thanks man!
The service to Manila is used mostly by Filipino migrant workers, that's why you were the only passenger in first class. On 99% of flights to Manila, first class stays vacant. That's why they don't bother with the flowers and amenity kits on these routes where there are little to zero butts in premium seats.
That makes sense. I knew about the large work force between the countries. So I guess they just use this plane for the overall capacity
@PatrickSheaAviation you might want to fly them to JFK to be in a position to judge their first class product in its full middle eastern glory. Back in the day - about 10 years ago - their desert trollies were legendary. Even if the hard product was like a 90s time capsule, with 2×2×2 reclining (not even lie-flat) leather seats in first. But the soft product was out of this world, at least to London.
Thank you sir for traveling on Kuwait Airways , i am the one with you on First Class lounge 🫡, hope you enjoyed our food , see you soon ☺️
Awesome! Thanks man!!
Your report contains incredible knowledge about Kuwait 🇰🇼 Airways. Great narrative and research. Thank you.
Thank you!
20:24 i came a little late ! But the little pore of coffee is actually an kuwait tradition way it is our way to tell the guest that i want you to stay more so i can pore you and serve you more! As a Kuwait myself we do this with our guest it our way to tell them we are more than happy to serve them and by pouring a little at time it show them that we want them to stay longer lol ! It may be odd to foreign and you may see it as disappointment but it actually made me happy that they stuck with our traditions and not coped other gulf airlines to try and compete them! I hope you will see my comment ! All love from Kuwait 🇰🇼
Thanks! Good stuff to know!
Brilliant video. Very relaxed and detailed.
Kuwait to Manila - the au pair girl express.
Beautiful plane and cabin. Anyone who doesn't like this should get their own plane!!!!
Your videos are really good man , I’m an Avgeek since I was a child , I think traveling is just about the coolest thing to experience as a human , especially when you fly foreign carriers, thanks for your work , keep ‘em coming bro , cheers 🍻.
Thanks man!!! Love to hear it
Thanks for the info + video!!!
Thanks man!
Love your videos Patrick! Such and adventurous guy! Thanks too for letting us see you in your videos. Good to put a face to the great voice. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man!!
i really appreciate seeing different airlines from the norm - thanks for your videos!
Thanks! Glad you like it!
It's nice to finally see your face!
Great video! The suite looks pretty comfortable. The First World problem of them feeding you so much, that you struggle to eat anymore :D
Lol very true… thanks!
My first international flight experience was Kuwait Airlines in 1982. Most passengers were Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and flight attendants were mostly Filipinas.
They say that your firsts were always your most memorable. Rightly so true that Kuwait Airlines has always been a part of me.
Truly enjoy watching your videos, very informative and interesting. Must have been strange being the only person in the first class lounge.
You are very thorough. Agree with you about offering free wifi in 1st class. The presentation of. Cutlery, etc. was lovely. Nice looking meal, even with the green cheese!
You give the most complete seat and area tour I’ve ever seen! It is indeed strange that you weren’t offered a turn down service.
Your snacks were amazing. Your dinner looks and sounds delightful. Nice landing. Truly an honest assessment of what they offer. Cheap, worthwhile flight.
Thank you so much!
Cool vlog! I’ve never been to the Middle East but their airlines do seem top notch !
They’re great. All of them seem to have different strengths too
I like your videos.Thank you Patrick🙏
Thanks!
look nice, Patrick!
I always enjoying watching your vlog during my night shift duty :) It feels cozy and I find it relaxing actually. Thanks for visiting my country Philippines :) Keep safe always
Thanks man! Always fun in the Philippines!
Thanks so much for another awesome video. There’s something about way you speak that makes me want to watch only your reviews.🙌🏼😅
His voice is awesome hey.... So soothing!
Thank you!!
A great report - thank you! I agree that KA is someway behind the other Gulf carriers, particularly with their soft product. Offering cheaper prices will be the only way they secure business away from their competitors.
Tbh for fares like that, I think it’s worth it. Still cheaper than Emirates business class on some days, and you get the a la carte dining and closed door suite at least 🤷♂️
Thank you for sharing your flight. I love flying on 777s. They are great aircraft! ☺ Smile
I do love the 777!
@@PatrickSheaAviation I am glad you had a comfortable seat there on there First Class cabin. The food looked nice and with you laying down looked nice. See, I am 6"2" so, I my years of working on that aircraft and now just a passenger, I still know I need leg room to feel comfortable.
Hey Patrick. You are my favourite aviation adventurer. Your enthusiasm and spirited commentary are infectious and always leave me gagging for my next winged wandering. I hope our flight patterns intersect in some future skies.
Thank you! Very kind of you! Hopefully we cross paths one day
Love your videos. Just starting following you a short while ago and your informative videos give it another edge than some of your fellow vloggers offer, even though I appreciate them as well, each for their own reasons. Regarding the first class you showcased here I think they are way behind Qatar Airways. I flew on their business class between Doha and Oslo on my trip to Thailand two years ago on a 787-900. The seat was a kinda suite as well with a closing door, no cubby for coats and not so much storage space and a slightly smaller seat, but the food seemed to be much superior of that of Kuwait Airways. Being such a rich country I feel it's a bit strange that Kuwait Airways is not investing more money in both soft and hard product to become a serious competitor to the other gulf airlines. Nice jobs with your videos!
Thank you! I do wonder if Kuwait will ever aim to grow to the size of their gulf carrier competitors
Welcome to Kuwait Patrick😍🥳🇰🇼🇰🇼🇰🇼
Thank you! I wish I had more time there!
Great report, just a note that the small pour of coffee is supposed to be that way. You’re supposed to have a small amount and keep refilling so the coffee never cools off!
Wow, what a flight...the food looked great and so much.....but I am afraid I would go crazy trying to figure out what does what....thanks....have a great day!
Thanks! Yea… there is a lot of stuff to sort through. You spend half the flight just pressing buttons 🤣
Much better than Delta Airlines
They said they're not willing to compete with the big boys, but still do just good to them, which is still above average last year 🎉🤝🏻👏🏻
Hard product looks awesome
It was great! Just a couple soft product items missing compared to other nearby carriers
I took Kuwait Airways DXB-KWI-JFK round trip in J on December 2022 and never got any amenity kit. It was also on 2-2-2 config and no First Class. I must say that i had better sleep in KW flights since they don’t serve alcohol.
What was the aircraft at 21:45 brother ? Was it a Ilyushin ?
Nice
Well done trip report Patrick and for the Kuwait Airways flights to MNL you are going to have a Majority Filipino crew in addition to a Kuwaiti Captain/First Officer. For the Middle Eastern airlines flying to MNL they always do Arabic English and Tagalog announcements. Same way as how UA transfers their EWR/IAD/ORD/IAH Filipino crews to GUM and SFO for MNL flights. In 2024 Oman Air joins Oneworld as their 3rd Middle Eastern member after QR and RJ.
Another great vlog and an interesting product. I think the seat wins hands down it seemed there was space and storage for ages. Wifi isnt a deal breaker for me im looking at the map or out the window and the food seemed OK. Whilst I do enjoy a gin in flight and wine with dinner Kuwait being a dry airline wouldnt bother me that much. The lounges looked good and if the aircraft did the London rotation then onto Manilla thats a great connection and theoretially even if a couple of hours late you would still make the connection if they didnt substitute aircraft. Back in the day Kuwait used to fly a 5th freedom flight from London to JFK using a 747. It was around 30% cheaper than the other direct flights but always late and cancelled. I stuck to British Airways as there were more choices if flights were cancelled. Id certainly consider this product if the fare was good given there are flights originating in London.
All good points. They do have a couple London flights and you can connect onwards to a few destinations. Just not the same route network of Emirates
dig that seat design! amenity kit, wifi weirdness and green eggs n ham! those carrots looked traumatized 👀 oh, and what a downer not to turn down a turning down service that was never offered #womp blueberries in salad is yum (what rock have you been under 😅)
Ha! Thanks man! 😂
Is this a non-alcohol flight ?
More importantly how did you get the first class seats ??
I just booked it through some European travel agency, but you can find good deals for these seats in most places
Congratulations on getting another sponsorship! It seems that your fame is spreading... 🎉 Those are some sexy looking suitcases btw... 😍
Thanks man!
How much po from pagadian to Manila
Having flown their premium classes long haul they have many qualities but far from competing with EK etc but at half the price are worthwhile and as many are non drinkers, lack of alcohol etc is not an issue. Highly recommended and if high level Skyteam, great ground service and amazing F lounge and usually very quiet.
Very true. Great points
What did you think of Kuwait…. Thinking of going for a few days for Xmas… but not sold. Is it worth it?
I definitely stayed in the wrong area so I don’t know if I have a great opinion just yet. It is small though so a few days is probably the most I’d spend there personally
Hey Pat. I see that you’re coming to NZ..... Any chance of you trying QANTAS and coming down under? It’s my home country... 🇦🇺👌✈️
I wish! But dang it’s expensive to get back home with Qantas
But Australia 🇦🇺 needs you Pat! #pleasekeepozonbucketlist
Another manila bound flight? is this a dream 😁👌
More Manila means more Jollibee LOL! I'm curious about the other Gulfies, such as Oman Air and Gulf Air.
- Red
They’re on my to do list for sure!
Kuwait looks nice, much nicer than Saudia, although defo less polished than Emirates or Qatar. But I guess the airline still has its training wheels on, and it would be interesting to see if they could give Emirates and Qatar a run for their money in the fullness of time. Etihad has tried, but not very successfully in terms of head-on competion.
The reason Kuwait cannot compete with the ME3 for premium pax is because they don't serve alcohol. Most people fly up front to enjoy the free high-quality booze, especially given how expensive booze is in the Middle East.
It is definitely a noticeable missing piece
almost the seat
Such as 777
Saudi Airlines
When did you go to Egypt and how safe is it for Americans?
I was there at the beginning of October before many of the current events were taking place. Even still, I highly suggest a local guide
You got me curious about Kuwait Air’s discriminatory practices in selling tickets to certain nationalities. Might be a touchy subject for you to explain here, so I’ll look it up on my own. Thanks for the nice trip report, Lone Ranger.
We do not allow israelis on our airplanes and that due to their government occupying Palestine against international law. Also, Kuwait declared war against " israel " in 1967 and to this day we have no peace treaty with them. We are at war and till Palestine be free we will still at war. Say that to ukranians why they not allow russians? racism, discriminatory or just common sense.
Nationalities ? it is only one country that right now in 2 months killed more than 10k children in the name of counter terrorism. They came from Europe demanding an only Jewish state on a land full of non-jews. ethnically cleansing the Palestinians for 75 years. They are the real terrorists and we will never pay the price of European crimes. and some how you guys coming and saying " discriminatory practices ". No habibi this is common sense and till they withdraw from internationally recognized Palestine they will never enter our airplanes.
Poor israelis cannot enter kuwaiti Airplanes. Cries sound from the west
Palestinian blocked from their basic human rights. Clapping from the west
Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy Hypocrisy
What camera do you use?
I just use my iPhone…. There are probly way better options out there, but it works for me and my one-man operation here
That’s a nice bag, but I need to get my money’s use out of my Tumi bag first lol
I've noticed you fly to the Philippines a lot. Just curious why you visit often 🙃
I do enjoy my time there, but also because the flights tend to be cheaper and longer so I get better value for the money spent
@@PatrickSheaAviation Ah yeah, that's true. We don't need a VPN just for that 😛 Aside from that, we have lots of travel fairs here. One time, we got a round trip to Lisbon last year, but opted the return to be business class and the return journey was like 800-900 dollars because it was promo. Though sometimes, the promo requires a local card unless maybe you visit the physical the onsite location. The business class wasn't that impressive though. The lounge we used on Lisbon was crowded. We were also on the 777 so Emirates used the 2-3-2 layout, which I didn't know was a thing (Sometimes, I wonder if that's the reason why the business class seats didn't cost that much 🤔). I also made a mistake of ordering chicken instead of beef cuz the chicken kinda sucked. The flight attendant asked me how the food was and I said 'it was good' because I wanted to be nice 😅 It was my first time though so it was still nice. I've never had lie-flat before. Also my first time to visit the Business Class lounge in Dubai. It was amazing, but it was past midnight so I didn't have a lot of energy.
At least we didn't get defeated by the Vietnamese and milked by the Israelis for billions of dollars. We PAY you for your services. Sorry Patrick Shea no offense to You 😁
Educational video , interesting , but being served cappelletti in First Class seems disappointing to me
Thanks! Yea idk 🤷♂️
You’re here in the Philippines a lot, you should already hold a meet and greet. 😅
I have been there a ton recently lol… mostly by coincidence but I do enjoy it there
Beautiful review, I found Kuwait Airways to be a good airline, If you want to travel from point A-B safely and well fead, Comfortable, But it’s true Just like Saudia they don’t care about the small details, That said they are expanding their route network in 2024 with the arrival of the A330-900 & A321neo, Also all of their B777’s are supposed to be refreshed and i heard they will remove First Class.
Interesting. I hadn’t heard about them removing their first class, but if it’s typically this empty, I guess it makes sense. And business class could really use a refresh
Not worth flying First Royal Premium Business etc. with KU..What was it? .right ! ..
bringing you from A to Z..
🤨
Typical American passenger?
I had a very bad experience with Kuwait airways business class on Airbus A320.
Yea the narrowbody experience is much less than these aircraft
It’s a First Class seat in a Business Class product.
Sir just let you know , you have very good content but it's the Arabicgulf , it's Persian gulf
im early
How much ticket cost for this travel
I've been trying to list that information in the caption of the videos so you can access it if you're ever wondering
You find Shake Shacks and Raising Cane's because when I visited Kuwait in 2000s one Kuwaiti called it the 52nd state. "52nd?" I asked. Then he replied about not forgeting about Puerto Rico 😂
…. Interesting… 🧐🤣
@@PatrickSheaAviationThe older generation there loves Americans because of liberation from Iraq during Desert Storm. Anyone there around 38-40 and older has pretty vivid memories of uncles getting arrested and anyone else who was fighting age. Some Kuwaiti at a wedding kept thanking me over and over, and I kept trying to explain that I was 10 during Desert Storm and did nothing to contribute.
interesting vid, though I think you can pack in everything you need in 20-30 minutes max. I fast forwarded through some portions and played it at +1.25
Check out the orb at 10:33 to 10:36😵💫
Again at 38:28😵💫
At 28:23 you say you watched the sunset - shouldn’t that be the sunrise (as you’re flying east from nighttime into daytime)?
Is it a dry airline?
It is, as Kuwait is a dry country
@@PatrickSheaAviation yeah thought so - great hard product but hard to compete with emirates and Qatar without alcohol as I feel a lot of people booking premium cabins really look forward to the wonderful selections they have especially in FC
GTBH I'll never by choice travel with a dry airline. My choice is to have a nice glass of wine with my lunch - so it's always going to be Singapore Airlines wherever possible - I'm prepared to pay more for a proper service. Kuwait will do well with its target market - I'm guessing I'm not part of that and that's fine.
Yea, totally get it. I get it’s their culture, but it’s kind of unfortunate that they aren’t able to at least supply it and let the customer make the choice
How stunning seat in first class, simply amazing!; when it comes to travel I mostly care about the seat instead of WIFI or even the IFE and I'm still amazed with the seat; I know alcohol is not served in some of the Arab carriers...you're a lucky traveller bloke, Patrick
Thanks man!
✌cheers Patrick
Thumbs up and follow for the office 😂
🤣
Patrick loves an accent. 😂
🤷♂️🤣
9.712
I’d give it a least 9.713 😂
Lounge food seems very limited and poor compared to EK for ex
Idk I actually really like the selection of food in the Polaris lounge, unfortunately I didn’t have time for the free sit-down restaurant in the lounge on this trip. I’d put this lounge up there amongst some of the best, although EK may be a class of its own
The new airport is unfortunately far from ready.... 2026 is the original grand opening date and I doubt they'll even meet that 🤷🏾♂️
Bummer. I was hoping it’d be ready sooner than that
I pay not to get ads while watching videos I do not appreciate ads by creators otherwise what’s the point in paying every month
agreed. I too have upgraded to premium, though most youtubers flog something in person, usually a VPN. Yes, annoying.
Out here tryna make a living and keep making content 🤷♂️
I think they have a330-8 neo. To new York.
They alternate between the A338 and 777 to JFK (and DC soon)
I flew Kuwait over this summer. on the IFE: They blur out any images that may be sexual in nature, even if it's not explicit. I saw Selena with Jennifer Lopez, the part where she wore a bustier top and was dancing on stage was blurred out. 🙄
lol that’s funny. They took out entire scenes from some shows too. Not to mention the movie “Cocaine Bear” showing up as “Crazy Bear”
No booze? That's terrible man!🥃
Kuwait is a dry country
Yea… it’s a bummer to be missing
Ummm no. Not up to decent standards. Great review!
Understandable they can't really compete with the other guys. Very limited network, no booze, no where near soft product etc. I don't really think they are trying to compete anyway.
Very possible. They have done plenty of renovating, but not much growing
First Class and yet no alchohol or amenity kit. Ridiculous. It's almost 2024, they need to get with it. There are international passengers who want those amenities. Just ridiculous.
“Get with it” may not fit this situation as it sounds like they recently got rid of amenity kits on some routes. Kinda strange not to see that for first class passengers 🤷♂️ but the alcohol at least is a cultural thing
It is the worst airline I have ever flown. Most cabin crew except for one or two were really ignorant, and unwelcoming. The new terminal has no forex services or good places to get some nice food. The airport is like a domestic airport in India. Or at least their new terminal (Idk about the other terminals). They cancelled one of my flights and rerouted me with no apologies or compensation.
But I have to say, those who were helpful in the cabin crew team were really helpful, and so kudos to them.
Dang. Out of curiosity, were you in one of the bus gates in the new terminal? I arrived in one of those and it definitely had a different feel to it than the upstairs jetbridge gates.
lol, no. Boarding was from D1. I came to London via Kuwait@@PatrickSheaAviation
And oh, three out of four of my flights were delayed, one by an hour and the other two by half an hour each... when it adds up, trust me it ain't pretty lol @@PatrickSheaAviation
To me, the cabin looks drab and boring. Very little contrasting colours.
Eh I guess the colors make sense, but the cabin was very cozy otherwise in its look and feel
No liquor? Who came up with that? They lost me as a customer. The amenity kits are useless anyway so I don't need one.
Kuwait is a dry country, as some Muslim countries observe, but it is a piece of the puzzle that makes it tougher for Kuwait Airways to compete head to head with others
Alcohol will never happen because Kuwait is a dry country
Yes… I mentioned that. But it’s still noticeable that it’s missing for sure
If you where smart you wouldn’t even consider visiting Iran
Why’s that? It looks beautiful and all the Iranian people that I’ve met have been wonderful. I’ve heard great stories from people who have gone. The governments of my country and theirs just make the visa and entrance tough
Dry airline? Rack off, no wonder no one flies Kuwait Airlines or goes to Kuwait for that matter.
I mean it’s not the end of the world to go without alcohol but it sucks when they don’t offer it to the passengers who do want some
Find it difficult to hear and accept your criticism of an airline based on cultural practices, Kuwait is a very conservative Islamic country where alcohol is not available, unlike the more liberal UAE for example, therefore they don’t serve alcohol which shouldn’t be used as a negative reflection of their national carrier.
I mean yes, it all makes sense, and reflects their culture, but will still subtract from their ability to compete head to head with other carriers
If an airline wishes to compete with their opposition. Unfortunately they must cater for all passengers dietary/ refreshment requests.!
You give wayyyyy too much detail.
yup. Condense it to 20-25 minutes. I would sub if the vids were shorter
Food looks HORRIBLE for a 1st class cabin.
It wasn’t too bad, and at least it was a La carte, but emirates and Qatar still have it beat
this is a very depressing causasian perspective of the world
🤨🤨
Great video! I pay for youtube premium. You override that, resulting 👎
Yea… just out here tryna make a living and keep making content and make working 2 jobs a bit easier
I don't like their livery 😮
Yea, I’ve seen a lot of people with mixed opinions on it for sure
Do you still not allow Jews to fly?…
If you can find a person of Jewish descent wanting to go there, I’m sure they would decide on the issue.
Kuwait airlines does not discriminate passengers on certain religion. But they are allowed to ban passengers from specific countries , so according nationality( German legislation )
The US did the same with nationals from some countries during Trump.
47:30 aha MF 819 has landed as well from Xiamen. Will be there next week.
avoid these 'dry' islamitic airlines like Iranair and Kuwait airways, no worth spending your money
I think it just depends on if you’re an alcoholic or if you can stop consuming drugs long enough to get on and off a plane
I have flown Kuwait between BKK and MNL a few years ago. I don't drink, so It was not an issue. Shame some people can't go a few hours without getting drunk.
^kinda what they said. Not having alcohol doesn’t have to be the end of the world, but it is a noticeable missing piece compared to other airlines nearby
Alcohol isn't a requirement for anyone
This guy talks way too much 😡
He’s got a great voice so who cares! 🤦♂️
Welcome to “vlogging”
Worst airlines ever.
Kuwait airways will never be a Top tier airline.
🤷♂️🤷♂️
