So much cool material! And so wonderful! I can't believe how plentiful it was there. There was literally material everywhere! Thanks Jeff for promoting these new and cool places! You help so many people! ❤
It's an amazing place with soooo much history those tailings piles are hundreds of feet tall and football fields wide there are so many goodies at that place that have not seen the light of day for over 100years ... if ever. And thank you so much for the kind words I just want everyone to be able to enjoy finding treasures, I love it when people find amazing things digging in the ground
Another cool spot to go to!! You guys are so lucky to have all these amazing places to find some pretty cool pieces, so very jelly 😜 See you next time 👋 😁
Haha thank you I am super happy this place opened the only place I could find Azurite and Malachite near me was a 24 hour drive away and when I was younger I could do that straight through now I got to stop and sleep at a motel or campground 16 hours in LOL
Hey, Lord Jeff! I really love those colors. So it transitions from azurite to malachite over time, is that what you said? At some point it must become my favorite color(cerulean). Thanks for sharing the adventure. Can sure hear the cicadas in the background at your home. 😁
Yep it goes through a metamorphosis being a copper mineral it changes from that beautiful blue to a beautiful green. But I have found pieces that are cerulean blue, I have also found pieces that are cobalt blue which made me wonder if I had found cobalt , they were not sadly according to the giger counter I used LOL. The cicades had quited down for a bit but recently they got loud again, guess it was a late hatching brood or something . I like the sound they make
I was gonna hold it off till after I completely finished my western trip but figured with them still having tickets I better get it out there for them.
Excellent video and finds, my friend!! I really gotta save up, take a week off, head over there and dig this place, Haunted Ridge, and everything else in that area.
Yes, and no, they have been running it slow to start, this first year, they have been testing the waters. Most of them didn't think it would be as big as it has been.Im thinking next spring they will really start cranking the open days
Thanks for the video! I had an awesome visit in June and highly recommend anyone who’s interested check it out! WAY more copper minerals there than you can find in Michigan’s upper peninsula these days. And make a several days or week roadtrip out of it to visit the surrounding rockhounding & nature lovers paradise. There are many other places to collect nearby for druzy quartz, barite, hematite, galena, etc.
Ok, so we do realize there is a thing called Google, but why use that when you have your hunting guide, Jeff? So... "ok, Jeff! What came first, azurite or malachite?" and here is another.. "Ok, Jeff! Is Disneyland just a giant people trap created by a mouse?". That's all we have for now, but have to say that pyrite piece is epic.
Hahaha Azurite first then over time, it chemically changes to the Malachite. It's all a copper ore, so it turns that pretty green.... Now I'm not sure about free float copper. I really haven't looked into it yet. And Disney is 100% a people trap set by a mouse .... it's a fun, overpriced, overcrowded people trap, but they got cool put put golf soooo I give them a B (-/+) 🤣🤣
