Great video! We’re in Phoenix and have been trying to figure out for quite sometime now whether we want to go to the Boise area or CDA. We are a family of 6 and my husband is happy to go to either but I worry about the winters up North. I don’t think I worry about the snow up there as much as I do the “darker” days and how long the winter lasts as well as how short the summers are. We lived in Seattle for a short while and my kids and I used to get in the car and chase the clearer skies to catch some sun lol but it also wasn’t terrible. Boise might be a better transition weather wise but CDA is just so beautiful 🤩

Joss, very true. Why just today we woke up with 5” of new snow on the ground and the rest of the week looks chilly 🤪😩😂! The one Boise season I am jealous that we don’t get much of is SPRING! Boise gets a true spring season and it’s amazing. Consistently 65-70, lots of sun, everything blooming 😍. Our springs in North Idaho are more truncated and the weather can be schizophrenic. Plenty of overcast days. But between late June and early October there’s no better place to be than CdA :)

Curious if wages are comparable to the cost of living in Boise. I moved to CDA 2 years ago. Wages haven’t increased in decades, and rent is minimum $2k now. It’s on its way to just becoming a bousy retirement community since the younger workforce is being pushed out. I feel really stupid for moving here.

Dear Lindsay, Please can you, tell me the difference between Coeur d'Alene and Lake Havasu City? I have been thinking about visiting both Cities and Exploring the possibility of Relocation. I live in a wonderful City just like Coeur d'Alene, that Awesome City is Santa Cruz, California. Can you, give me A Comparison and Contrasting between these two amazing cities of Coeur d'Alene and Lake Havasu City, AZ? I like to know things like The People There, The Culture, Restaurants, Bars, Parks, The Weather, and most important for me, Are there any Bears there, like Black Bears and Grizzly Bears?

Actually, I just moved to Northern Idaho from a big city (thank gawd) to Idaho in Feb I've seen the 30 second comparisons with fast talking and I think yes it is a "little" bit long but it's the most honest, detail oriented and overall best comparison on the 2 cities I've seen anywhere. If you decide to shorten subsequent videos, please don't shorten too much, I really appreciated watching this. :)

The people of Coeur d Alene Idaho are fed up with all the people; our traffic sucks!! And all the rental houses are gone or $3,200 month and housing is over inflated. We have also gotten 7 feet of snow standing many times in the past and it always gets over 100 in the summer. I’ve lived all 53 years of my life. The banks won’t even loan money on a house they’re so over priced.

Do people in Idaho only live in two places--the Boise area and North Idaho? Are all the other places unlivable or desert?

    • @Locate208

Boise metro area and Coeur d’Alene are the two biggest cities, but there’s many great spots across the state that are so cool. If I lived anywhere else in Idaho I would pick Moscow, Sandpoint, (both in the panhandle), Grangeville is beautiful, and McCall is a cool mountain town. And on the east side of the state the Sun Valley, Salmon/Challis area is one of the most scenic areas in the entire country!

@@Locate208Pretty cold in Sun Valley and Sandpoint is where the conservative Christian nationalists are moving. McCall is cold with lots of snow in the winter. Have you ever spent time in Salmon or McCall in the winter?

Boise has trans flags hanging all over downtown. We stayed there for a month and saw multiple men wearing dresses. It’s as liberal as cali. North Idaho where I’m at has deep dark winters and there’s not a real sunny day as in clear blue skies for a good 6-7 months. Winter becomes a ghost town with only the working class locals around for half the year. Beyond cold, below freezing, almost everyone has trucks. You’ve got to LOVE cold and snow to be happy here. Also all winter is dirty and gross. Snow is pretty when it first falls but piles of dirty snow and grit everywhere. But it’s safe beyond belief for families and kids. It’s like a time warp back to when kids had lemonade stands and could walk to get ice cream without homeless drug addicts around. Pretty much the more north and more cold equals less gangs, violence and crime.

Nice video, she tells it like it is.I have lived in North Idaho two years now and here's my spin on things
Pros:no traffic jams,I feel safe here, the weather is okay but get used to alot of overcast skies, and great scenery. The cons(just my opinion)The job market is too limited and the pay is too low,the restaurants are
a disappointment, not much for any entertainment or nightlife,I end up doing alot of driving just for a couple errands(the prairie...ugh)N.I is best suited for rich folks who are into retirement(yawn).

The traffic jams are coming. (especially if people keep putting out videos boasting that there is no traffic here) The amount of time it took for traffic to explode here was a mere 3 yrs. It’s astounding- and getting worse every day.

I can’t help wondering if those of you who are encouraging people to move to Idaho, especially North Idaho, and advertising it as a slower paced town that is a uncrowded, realize that with every new family that moves here, the very things you currently enjoy about living in North Idaho decrease incrementally?
We have only been here for eight years and already we are looking to move away. Already this place is on the fast track to becoming the next Portland or Sacramento or Seattle. Unfortunately.

Obviously more is expected than an Instagram post, but there is a Goldilocks zone where its not so long but still makes this key points and saves matter for further videos that are shorter and punchier. The videos are well done otherwise so please don’t take this the wrong way!
