Guys I'm 60 years old... When I was 5 years old my father worked for the government the state of Michigan you saved up his vacation time for 5 years and we got 3 months off so in 1968.. he bought a we called it a Jeep you guys said wagoneer but we had one just like it but it was green with the wooden sides and it was when people didn't put the kids in seat belts my brother and I had two big bean bag chairs in the very back my sister sat in the next ones and my parents got a Shasta camper and took us for 3 months to see to see the presidents at Mount Rushmore and I remember my dad sharing that a 6 ft tall man could stand up in the nostril of George Washington I never forgot that I was only five and then we went to the Grand canyon and then to Disney in California on the way back we stopped at the Grand Ole Opry we didn't have tickets but some really cool guard person let us in and gave my sister and I grabbed a lot for bracelets that I still have to this day....which are now collectors items... That was the old Grand... Not the new one... I love how you guys got excited about that jeep because it made me super excited... What are some parents I had that gave me great memories they're both passed on now but gave me the fever to want to travel... Hence why I came to your channel to be an adventurer!!! Love you two .love your channel...been watching it for years..I rarely comment
Thanks for doing such a good job with my hometown. It’s always a bit hard telling people I am from Boise (Boy-see it was also driving me nuts but don’t worry everyone does it) but when people actually know what Boise is like they usually love it. Looking forward to your next adventure in Idaho. Hoping it’s somewhere like McCall, or Loman. Even Idaho city would be a fun pass through. P.s. agree to come in summer. Big thing is float down the river end at the park and have a BBQ, table rock, and Merritts. The hidden gem and best scones you will ever eat.
When I posted on my Facebook that it’s Boy-see not Boy-zee some guy actually argued with me about it saying that’s how everyone pronounces it. So I told him they’re pronouncing it wrong! Born and raised here so I think I know how it’s pronounced. 😂🤷🏼♀️
@@AngelLuluBluJewel even wrote a song about it called “there is no Z in Boise.” She was bored on the tour bus and wrote it on the way to perform here. the Boise Chordsmen barbershop chorus got the rights to the song from her manager. There’s a video on RUclips of them performing it.
So fun to see your impressions of some of the wonderful places in Boise! I live about two hours away in Twin Falls and we travel to Boise all the time! I wish you could see it in summer- I think you’d love it that much more! You can float the river, the downtown has so many things happening, the city is beautiful with all of the trees- you barely scratched the surface of a wonderful city!

Oh man...my family had a Wagoneer like that when I was a kid (probably mid-70's), ,but it was bright red. We loved that car! I can remember driving around sitting in the way back, looking out the back window with our giant Saint Bernard. Funnily enough, we later had a van similar to that (not giant tires/wheels like that) that we used for road trips (captains chairs in the front and middle, a sink and mini fridge + a wrap around bench with a table that turned into a bed. Rolling in our baby blue van with the 8 track tapes.
Those are all amazing memories! We definitely remember the days of riding backwards in our grandparents' cars. Road trips were so different back in the day 😂
Welcome to my hometown. Wish you come back in summer when is warmer. So much to do here. Chef Lou's Ice Cream Potato is a Boise Favorite for sure. Glad you saw the Old Pen and Basque Block area. Come back soon. Ray in Boise
If you get back to Germany, look for Eiswein from Bingen am Rhein which is close to Wiesbaden. I believe it is made all over Germany now. It was first made in Bingen area. It is a dessert wine.
Boise is so cute! I love all the murals and the steak fries looked friggin awesome. The sound on the ice! It's really thin, recently frozen black ice and it makes crazy sounds (look up skating on thin ice from National Geographic). It's so cool. We love that old Wagoneer! I'm sort of offended by the way the new ones look.

I read a blog about the origin of the Idaho ice cream potato and the author interviewed Chef Lou at Westside Diner! He said it was invented in the 1940s for a governor's banquet. The original had maple nut ice cream and fudge sauce, whipped cream and almonds. I love this "dessert imposter" and what a fun video 🥔🤗
I've lived in Boise for 20+ years and you did a great job of giving a snap shot of the city. You found a few of our treasures but could spend many more days here and uncover a multitude of special adventures. Hit me up anytime you want a list!
Some of the murals in Freak Alley are actually replaced every year or two, and people apply to take part. Our son participated a couple of times when he was younger. Also, if you ask a native, it's pronounced bound rather than Boy-Z. Boise is a great place to live for the most part.
I just rediscovered your channel after a long, long break and happy to see you made it to my hometown and where I live now. Really glad the sun was out for your time here. Keep having fun and looking forward to further adventures.

I hope that someday you make it to Harrisburg, the capital of PA. Not only is there a good bit of local history and close proximity to Hershey, Lancaster (PA Dutch country) and Gettysburg, but it has what the Smithsonian labeled as the most beautiful capitol building in the country. I love freak ally, last time I was there though it was about 2 years ago when my mother got married there, iv lived in Idaho for lots of my life and it is a amazing place in down-town Boise:)
Hello Allison and Eric. I have actually been there at this time of year. I only saw it in passing on the Greyhound. In some states we got time to look at the Capitol buildings. They tended to be like that. I envy you going at your own pace, but as a foreigner I had to get round US in the time on my visa. That looks like a great place that I enjoyed seeing more of, so thank you.
I like Boise. It is the closest big city for us as we are in NE Oregon. We will be going next week for my birthday and I'm looking for a few new Boise adventures to experience.
I am now working on my bus and just having a short break, you are so inspiring me to finish my bus ❤ there are so many places I realize I need to see. BTW sorry for my english I am filipino living in Arkansas.
Great video of my hometown! I no longer live there but have a lot of family still in the area. When I ate meat, Basque chorizo was one of my favorites!! So glad you all got to try it. Only one note from a former Boisean - Boise is pronounced with an "s" sound, not a "z" sound. Jewel even wrote a song about it! 😅 Thanks for all the great content! I always enjoy your videos! ❤
There is no place more beautiful than Idahome. Especially the Sawtooth mountains. You should visit sometime. Great for camping, hiking, fishing, and astrophotography! ✨✨
You could call your channel travel & eats! I thought that was a real potatoe. Thank goodness it was ice cream! How delicious! And I thought you were going to say it was "potato wine". I enjoy your smattering of history. I've driven though Idaho often going back to Portland, Or. This was eons ago. Who knew Idaho is so interesting. Thanks for showing us around.
Ice wine is definitely a sipping wine. We actually serve it in liqueur glasses and that’s enough for us. There’s a lot of award winning ice wine made around Niagara on the Lake in Ontario Canada.
Fun to see my home state in these videos - I moved to FL a couple of years ago, so it's been memory lane. Boise is a lot of fun, cool city - if you guys are still in Idaho consider heading up toward McCall and look into Burgdorf Hot Springs - you won't be disappointed.
Glad you made it out of the potato alive! I'm sure you'll never forget that stay. The food all looks delicious. That was a sweet Wagoneer, about a 1980?
Ooh that cocoa powder looks like hot chocolate mix, or Nestlé 's Quik ! I love Boise. There was a A&W right by the freeway at Overton overpass exit. It was great
So funny, i have lived in Ketchum for 47 years and frequent Boise a lot. Never done the things you did, and never been to the Basque area...too many other things to do. Great place to live.
Ice wine in British Columbia’s Okanagan wine country - grapes must freeze for a few days that concentrates the juice, making a sweet dessert type wine.
You just keep producing more and more great videos to watch. Ice cream potatoes though ummm.no thanks lol. I did see that there was a crazy brief time that everybody wanted mac and cheese ice cream
My adult children (and ex) live in Boise. The West Side drive -in has an excellent rib-eye dinner. Steak fingers are awesome. While in Germany, near the Mosel River, the vineyards made terrific ice wine. You need to got to Bogus Basin and ski.
If you're interested in ice wine, the Canadian province of Ontario around Niagara falls is the capital of wineries who make that. Highly recommend a visit as the area is beautiful.
In Springfield, MO, right off I-44 going North on Glenstone is an old Sinclair gas station that has about 5 or 6 of these Jeep Waggoneers sitting by it for sale. It’s old H Hwy if you’re familiar with this part of the state. Anyhow, good hunting on finding a Jeep!
As a Dane, I loved your awestruck comment that the Capitol building is a hundred years old WOW 🤗- not many similar buildings over here (Europe - for those who do not know what Denmark is) are younger ;-) ) - love your vids
my favorite thing about living in Idaho is hearing stories about LDS missionaries having their mission in Idaho. Because when they get their mission they're always so disappointed until they get here
Way to go, Ida-ho! Fun fact: in the very first Toy Story movie, Hamm said that very same sentence to Mr. Potato Head after he did something extraordinary (I forget what). I found that so funny, I've been saying it ever since! Thanks for another great video! Love the Wagoneer!
I love Chorizo too and have put down the place in Boise to try sometime. If the next time you pass through Portland, OR you are driving I215 near the Airport look up Gartner's Country Meat Market and get some of the Chorizo Brats. I lived across the Columbia River in Vancouver for about 20 years and since leaving one of a few foods I really really miss is the Chorizo Brats from Gartner's. They are a little spicy! Love your channel and never miss an episode. Keep it up!
Happy to have another chorizo enthusiast adventuring with us! Definitely try some at the market if you ever find yourself in Boise 🤤 and we'll for sure snag some the next time we're in Portland!
I thought I spotted clementine driving down a street in Boise...but I decided it couldn't be you guys! Now I'm sad I didnt say hi!! ❤️ Glad you loved the town we call home. 😊 You were right by our house!!
The Idaho state capitol building looks very similar to the Wisconsin state capitol building which is almost identical to the capitol building in Washington DC.

You can get ice wine in the Niagara valley next to the falls. Also in Germany.
Video editing is art!
Loved the Freak Alley artwork, reminded me so much of Hosier Lane in Melbourne, AU. Hope you make a trip down under sometime.
That ice-cream potatoe was really cool.
Thanks for sharing the video
You could call your channel travel & eats! I thought that was a real potatoe. Thank goodness it was ice cream! How delicious! And I thought you were going to say it was "potato wine". I enjoy your smattering of history. I've driven though Idaho often going back to
Portland, Or.
You can also find ice apple wine that uses apples that were frozen while still on the tree, then harvested and made into wine.
Way to go, Idaho. Eat a potato. We need a bumper sticker! Thank you for visiting our town.
I did see that there was a crazy brief time that everybody wanted mac and cheese ice cream
loved Boise very interesting place lots of history and some take places to eat & drink
Watched your video and saw those candies and, with the help of Amazon, got some, very yummy. Thank you.
As a foodie I absolutely approve of your wonderful food finds. Ice cream that looks like a potato, who knew? Awesome video, God bless 🙏
Nice! We'll for sure need to visit and try some. Thanks for tip!
I like ice wine mixed with a hard cider. Very yummy. Too sweet just straight. ❤
I live right here, and haven’t tried or visited many places as you shared!! I should check out!! 😂😅🤗 Thanks for sharing!
What a great place so much to see and do thank you again for an amazing adventure 😀😀
You make every place look so fun and the food!! Fantastic vid!❤
Thanks for finding the fun stuff at a place I’d like to visit!
As a Dane, I loved your awestruck comment that the Capitol building is a hundred years old WOW 🤗- not many similar buildings over here (Europe - for those who do not know what Denmark is) are younger ;-) ) - love your vids
You did your best.
Great video. Boise is my 2nd favorite Place i'm moving back in June. Looking forward to more video
my favorite thing about living in Idaho is hearing stories about LDS missionaries having their mission in Idaho.
Looks wonderful in a really good time. The food looks great❤
Canada also makes Ice Wine. It’s delicious, but sooo sweet. We found a tiny glass with cheese was good. Drink like you would a Port.
Ice wine!!! I had really great ice wine from Mount Hope winery in PA. If you're ever in PA, grab a bottle!
I had a Wagoneer, it was either a 64 or 67! It was in 76😁So there’s always a place in my heart for a Wagoneer! That one was pretty clean too!
Ice wine is also big up in Ontario, near Niagara falls.
Came here to say that
Good to know!
ice wine is indeed an aperitif. One would have a tiny glass after dinner. Several vineyards in the Finger Lakes make it some years.
The Idaho state capitol building looks very similar to the Wisconsin state capitol building which is almost identical to the capitol building in Washington DC.
Just unbelievable yous guys just keep them video coming 👍
