Y'know what would be cool? A 'returning to DVResolve' quick video guide for peeps that have previously watched all your tutorials years ago but never used the app until now. Just a quick refresher on important settings to check, how best to use the timeline efficiently, the most important keyboard shortcuts, and good render settings for youtube.
This is great, a little advice please. I just got a Canon R5 MkII and am going to Africa. I want to shoot basic video with no log files. What format do you suggest i shoot in. 4K-D fine@29.97fps LGOP (whatever that is) Thank you . I have already learned a lot from you. I am an experienced stills photographer. I did some Final Cut Pro very basic video editing a Loong time ago.
Great into. Is Resolve good at upscaling video? Say I have a 1080p and want to go to 2k. Or dare I say 4K. Does it do it and keep the vid sharp?? If no do you have a recommendation??
There is an upscaler in the paid version that's pretty good. Although there are some third party tools that can do it better. I don't have any particular recommendation but you could do an online search.
19 - they moved the "Favorites" (edit page) from all being in the "Favorites" section (I could see all of my favorites & choose from the libraries of effects) to now I the favorites are shown where the libraries used to be. I have to constantly switch between seeing the full library and seeing my favorites ... I cannot see them both at the same time anymore. Can I fix this or am I stuck with it?
Ive filmed an awesome video on my Hero 12 black on GPLog and idk if Resolve can rescue it, but I tried on Premiere, and I could not recover much color, it looked so hazy, and the water was actually clear. So I called GoPro customer service to see if they could make my video look better and they said NO...so Ive learned never to use GPLoG ever again. It sucks. Im hoping someone proves me wrong on Resolve though
Hi. This is no doubt a very useful guide but it doesn´t feel like beginners. Perhaps someone who already has a projected started up can go forwards. I am a total beginner so it misses me. I will come back to it when I know a litte more. Thanks. At least I discovered your vid
Ive come to the conclusion that NO TUTORIAL ADVISOR knows "where" auto save files, project files and backups are kept...why because in no "Beginners Guide" does anyone know the basic file structure... in Premier its simple, absolute walk in the park... In Davinci a NIGHTMARE... nowhere to go for auto saved files and just click open!!!
Everything is listed in project settings. The cache directories etc. The project files are saved to the database, which you can get to by right clicking on your library name in your project manager. Also a quick Google for any of these qs will give you the default directories on Mac or windows. :)
Be sure to check out the DaVinci Resolve Resource Guide PDF: www.groundcontrol.film/free-PDF?RUclips&New+to+Resolve+19

OMG u really took the words out of my mind lol. I was thinking the same thing. Version 19 came out and good time to try DaVinci Resolve
I am transitioning from Camtasia, and this was immensely helpful. Thank you.
Thank you very much for this video. Very informative. :) I may indeed deep dive into your 4 hour long video at some point.
thank you for everything you shared 😘😘😘
Thanks 🙏 sir for PDF ❤ I'm from India 🇮🇳
Casey... what, where, how...is our stuff stored...where on the HDD is the cache, auto saved etc?
Good stuff, as always, Casey and your outros are the best 😂. Thanks much for the work.

First all, your videos are extremely helpful. Thank you. Question, why does my red cursor line moves super fast when I play in edit mode?
Hmm. Not sure. Are you zoomed way in?
@ lol yes… I kinda figured it out after trial and error
Thanks though…
Thanks for this, it's my first attempt at video editing and the UI is overwhelming. It's not intuitive at all.
What settings would you use for GoPro 12 in GP-Log..? Lots of people using GoPro but no good videos on what settings to use
Same problem I am also facing.
🥲

Great video thanks. Where is the link to the 4 hour course you mentioned please?

Yes, thanks. We need it.
Wow, I’m learning so much from your excellent videos. Thank you!
Thanks bro your resolve tutorial was really helpful ❤
Beginners guide... how about "where" everything lives, we know how to edit, that's easy but the file structure with davinci is a nightmare!!!
That’s for sharing very educational 😊

Thank you so much!
Brilliant, thank you! 💪
Do we have to use color manage space if we are beginner? and i have canon 90d which setup can i use? Thanks
thanks bro for sharing
Exports pretty quick?🤔 Took me like 20 min to render a 30 sec video the other day for some reason, on a rigged out pc (14900k 4090 gpu)
That's a "you" problem mate. Check your settings.
how is this different from your davinci resolve 18 course that is 4 hours long?
why am i unable to view my media files? It says media offline on the main screen. Is it because the file isnt supported?
You'll need to relink the media. Go here for a support article on how to do that: www.groundcontrol.film/support
Some kind of shop for photos ahahha
lol Casey, your 4 minute mark. You know...creating Effects...After you edit... you know. 🙃
helpful video.. but the very end.. almost made me wish i hadn't watched the first 21:15 seconds..
✨
POV trying to edit a video about DaVinci Resole video in DaVinci Resole

There's no link to the 4 hour course you claimed you have. Unsubscribed.
It popped up in the top right and at the end too
