This is the most condensed knowledge I have ever had in just 20 min about mixing texture and it opens up so so much possibilities! Just wow! Didn't know blender could do all this!
I really liked when you used the hate to texture that mountain. The fact that you used a redish colour just accentuated the hate texturing, good job ))
Somehow Gleb throwing a simple diffuse shader onto a mesh still looks a million times better than any insane node setup I've ever created LOL. Great video none the less.
As a rule I try to avoid commenting on RUclips videos (or else I can't help but get sucked into the toxicity!) but I really wanted to say thanks for the awesome tutorials. Your videos are excellent, quirky, fun and straight to the point. I've learned an absolute tonne from you. Thanks, and please keep it up!
Even though your accent took a little getting used to (English is not my first language), but this tutorial is so fantastic. Learned a lot from a not so long video. Also your inner geek is a genius. Thank him for me pls.
Sakhile Nikomo, there are quite a few of those terminators of joy who have been attacking the most creative people only because they're jealous. There shouldn't be a dislike button on RUclips. If you want to offer constructive criticism, just write it down in a civil way. I don't know why RUclips keeps this really "hatred-fueling" option. You really don't like something? Don't watch it! End of the story.
Cool as always. One caveat on the material by vertex selection: If you use subdivision surface modifiers this will distort the borders between the materials. But for all linked mesh parts it is probably one of the easiest methods.
Dude, you've really saved my ass with this one. I was having such a hard time with texture painting and material developing in general. Big thanks. BTW: I'm gonna be watching on loop.
Thanks you so much Gleb , I have been looking for a tutorial like this for a while as their alot of different techniques taught in confusing ways and this is by far the best in the shortest and most direct way .
Wow, I'm overwhelmed... so much information at the speed of light. I subscribed, this is a fantastic tutorial but I would really appreciate if you could break it down and slow the pace for those who are learning. Thanks!
Hi Gleb I watched the video of your presentation at Blender Conference 2017 in the subject "The Secret of Making High Quality Art in Blender and Everywhere" and I was blow away. Now I see this and I'm being blow away again! I use Autodesk's 3ds max but I really excited about blender. Things like "Paint in 3D" or "Project a texture" in 3ds max are so weak, slow and bad in that program (The truth is that tools for paint basically doesn't exists). I'm in a studio where a big project would have so benefit so much of paint projection (it would be ridiculously easier, ridiculously faster and the results would come much better). I really think about learning blender. Unfortunatelly my long experience with max makes blender very confusing for me (learning another 3d software is very painful, specialy when the UI is so different), but after seeing you I will make the promisse to learn blender. You got a new subscriber and fan!
I wouldn't mind if we had even more advanced control over the procedural noises. Like in After Effects fractal noise. There is a huge untapped potential in this field.
Thanks for the video. For decal, instead of using Min and Max in Mapping node, you can use the Clip option in place of Repeat in the Image Texture node ;).
the way only corners affected you showed in 16:07 has changed i think, i rebuild it but my whole mesh has now " noise texture" the result looks way different like your one, can you help out or make re up this is kinda cool effect i would use it really much, thanks sir
Great vid! I've been using Blender for about 2 years now and I've come leaps and bounds from day 1 obv. But then I watch a vid like this and realize just how little I really know about any of it. A little depressing really. LOL I'd really like to know just HOW to really get better and improve in a measurable way, if possible. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
Hey Gleb, I can't get the normal node to work for me in 2.79 on Suzanne. I have the same node setup as yours but it just doesn't want to work. Would love to use this technique, has great potential for my workflow. Do I need to set up UV's first? Am I missing a step that's not discussed in your video...
Gleb, do you do your own graphic design in your videos? Just wanted to say you do a fantastic job on all of it! Also I really appreciate how to-the-point your tutorials are. I started out watching hour-long basic tutorials and these ones that I can flip through quickly to look over really help!

Perhaps one of the most useful videos i have ever seen
I agree. Amazing tutorial. Thank you!
Precisely my thought.
One of the best Videos I have seen. Thanks
You're too kind!
This is the most condensed knowledge I have ever had in just 20 min about mixing texture and it opens up so so much possibilities! Just wow! Didn't know blender could do all this!
THIS. THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO ON THE INTERNET. MY GOD.

It's a powerful illusion. Now you see me.
OMG. You CRUSHED that. You're energy is infectious! Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
Глеб, хватит пить столько кофе)) У меня от твоей энергетики ноут начинает подзаряжаться)
Wow! You've really come a long way with this Creative Shrimp project, Gleb. Your videos keep getting better and better!
Oluwarinumi, that's the point of the project. To learn something new every time! I hope that I'm learning too :)

after 2 years blendering this was a mindbomb.
greetings from germany :-)
and thx for this good job.
Hey Gleb, I'm watching lots and lots of blender tutorials nowadays. This is the most efficient one for me; best actually. Amazing work; many thanks.
Best Greetings to you and your inner Nerds from germany :)
The World is really better with people like you and coffee
Lets brew the world a better place together! :)
I'm just getting started modeling.... but this is a major boost of encouragement... very informative!!
Probably one of the feature-richest tutorial ever! Almost featuristic! =D
Good job gleb!
Back to the feature, that's how we call it. The feature is bright for us, nerds!
THE POINTINESS NODE, are you kidding me 3 years in blender and I never knew they was a magic auto-edge-wear button?
This tutorial is pure gold. I think I'll use that a lot in the future
This is golden advice, and it's free...Why are there so many dislikes?

First tip, even though it sounds simple, saves me a tonne of time. Really good tutorial with ideal pacing and character, fantastic work.
I love u Gleb, u are so cool that even 5 years later your tutorials helpe me a lot!
Great tricks man, a big thank you. Your contribution to the community is huge.

Thanks for this, its cool how all the tutorial makers started talking about textures and materials!
Hi Gleb, for the repeating texture, just switch the 'Repeat' option to 'Clip'. Thanks for the tutorial :)
its you xD you make awesome tutorials as well! :)
Sardi, thanks for the tip!
this feels like a family, awesome tips, awesome guys!
Thanks you so much Gleb , I have been looking for a tutorial like this for a while as their alot of different techniques taught in confusing ways and this is by far the best in the shortest and most direct way .
Screwing the time aside, History has been made uncharacteristically just brilliant!

You are incredibly generous with your knowledge. Thanks a lot. Sorry for the mistakes.
I'm happy to help.
Another great, simple but also advanced tutorial that everyone can understand! Good job! Very good job!
I never imagined there were so many methods, Gleb you're amazing, thanks for sharing your knowledge :)
You're the encyclopedia! well done. Also Hard ops is definitely awesome.
Yay :)
Gleb you make this look so easy and fun. Thanks for sharing. Invaluable stuff right there.
Wow the Quick Edit with Krita is really a nice workflow - thanks for the tutorial! Also the seperate x y z technique is awesome.
If only you guys would have taught such awesome texturing in Maya. I have hit the wall in texturing.
Why not switch to Blender?:)
you mate...you are a genious. thanks for this great tutorial once again
I agree
You're a genious Gleb

Don't even doubt that. Fully.
Thank You! You`ve just said everything that I needed to know in that topic.
This just blew my mind and is strangely motivating
Thanks again for give your amazing time and for sharing your knowledge with on us...the beginners...
Wow, so many different ideas for texturing and setting up shaders, Gleb! A few of these I didn't know and can use on my current project, thank you!
Awesome. Glad to be of help!
Good work Gleb, it really sums up very useful shading tricks. Personally I love and use the procedural stuff a lot. It saves a lot of time.
I wouldn't mind if we had even more advanced control over the procedural noises. Like in After Effects fractal noise. There is a huge untapped potential in this field.
Yeah, absolutely!
Thanks for the video. For decal, instead of using Min and Max in Mapping node, you can use the Clip option in place of Repeat in the Image Texture node ;).
amazing Gleb.. very useful tips
such a beautiful design and such a great tutorial

Thanks for this amazing tutorial!
Great tutorial! I've been waiting for something like this for a while. Lifesaver!
Finaly! I've found the best tutorial for texturing! Thanks Gleb! ;)
Fun stuff, Gleb! Thanks for sharing!
I always come back to this video, I wish I could re-like it

This was useful and lovably awkward! I didn't know you could do half this stuff with blender's texture painting tools.
I learned sooooo much from this video, can't wait to try it out!!!
I LEARNED A LOT FROM HERE
What did you do at 3:40 mark to scale down the parts separately? Great tutorial btw!
Really helpful Gleb - thank you.
Wow this demystifies a whole lot for me, great video Creative Shrimp... I'll stop eating shrimps in honor of this video... 😊👍😏

Thank you for sharing this great tutorial about texturing :)
Project the mask is so awesome ty so much Gleb
Gleb, you're the man.
OMFG! I CAN'T LIKE THIS VIDEO HARD ENOUGH!
This is very cool video man... Thanks a lot. Btw can you share which online renderfarm service you use most for your project ?

I hope you make a detailed video for each method
Such a great tutorial, as usual. Thanks a lot, unsing krita for texturing is just killer! Is it possible to use Photoshop for the same function?
Aureo, you can use any image editing software you like :)
Wonderful lesson, thanks, but how to bake Roughness, Metalness cards in Blender?
splendid! thank you very much Gleb
Awesome Gleb!
you've shown me how good blender is
Although I knew most of this, it's still a really great tutorial and refresher for my mind. Thanks.
Thank you, Karlis!
