Banjo Lesson: Sweet By and By -- Gospel Hymn

Hear this tune played with guitar rhythm backup (slow, medium, fast) starting at 14:50. Guitar chords are
provided on-screen.
This is an instructional tutorial 5-string bluegrass banjo lesson teaching my version of the popular hymn "The
Sweet By and By."
"The Sweet By-and-By" is a Christian hymn with lyrics by S. Fillmore Bennett and music by Joseph P. Webster.
The hymn, immensely popular in the nineteenth century, became a Gospel standard and has appeared in
hymnals ever since. (Wikipedia)
On this video I teach the tune lick by lick, phrase by phrase, using on-screen tablature, then I put it together --
slowly at first, then faster toward the end, adding rhythm guitar and on-screen chord prompts.
