Hiya, if you are not using the Pepe or other tool... I use a set of metal knitting pins to form the coil, then, wrap the coil in a single wrap of masking tape, VERY IMPORTANT, match the colour of the tape with your left sock, put the blade through the coil and holding against your bench peg saw from the inside out. Very easy to do, I've made lots and lots.
You have the newer version. I have the older one but it works basically the same and if you do chain maille, it's a must. Makes them perfect and saves so much time. One of the best investments I've made.
I already watch several jump ring jewellery channels and am in the process of making some necklaces so would like it just fine if GomeowCreations did jump ring videos!
Greetings from Peru. Maybe 2 places sell a couple of Pepe Tools items here in Lima, I got a rolling mill and it cost me a pretty penny, but it is still nice seeing all options in tools to create art ;) Thank you for posting.
The largest size mandrel it came with is 12 mm but it might be able to go even bigger and idk how thick you can make either but it is something I'm going to play with haha.
Yeah, you can and I'm sure they work well but if you do and have that jump ring setup you have to make sure it fits the handpiece. I have a cheaper flex shaft that it will fit into but it's is basically a copy of the foredom handpiece hah
Well I don't have a list for gauge size but I do have one for the thickness of the metal. Here is a link to my blog post www.gomeowcreations.com/blog/2018/7/21/how-to-use-a-jewelers-saw-for-beginners-to-intermediate-trick-and-tips But for 99% of my work I just use 3/0 and 2/0 blades, even on thicker metals. I know you are not meant to but it works fine for me. 😅👍
Yeah, I know things have been very heavy into posting stuff about tools but I have some good reason for it . Because they send me the tools I kinda have to make a video talking about it but you might also noticed that I have been porting out a lot more videos as of lot. I want to get this all out of the way so I can start making stuff again. I'm also gearing up to move out of California and I need to get a lot of stuff shot before I move so I'm doing that along with trying to make this a full time job 😅 so I'm working about 80+ hours per week right now to make all of this happen. I don't want to be a salesman so please forgive me for these videos coming out so much 😊 and I will get back to tutorials soon. That being said my next video will be a full protect.
Oh no, sorry, I meant those round saw blades that go into the arbor. I believe that there are two sizes. I don’t remember which one cuts what gauge. I do apologize for the confusion!
Cool video, I was going to ask you about making a video on how to make chains and necklaces with jump rings. I made a cool a tool to use to cut the jump rings I make on my 3d printer could you give me your email and I'll send you a picture of it and if you like it and want to try it out I can send you the stl file.
@@GomeowCreations I really like your presentations and will continue to watch them so please don't stop doing what you're doing. Please be aware of the hand movement--- it's kind of like saying UGH over and over while you're speaking.
haha yeah, because I'm not on camera I try to talk with my hands a lot. I'm still working on better ways to do this but thank you for pointing it out. 😁

That is a very good idea 👍 and I might have to try that out, thank you 😊

Well thank you very much 😊

Thats cool i love specialty tools.
Good video. I use yarn needles, I find mine at yard sales and Good will stores. They are marked metric size.
Well that is smart, I will have to keep an eye out for those.
You are so smart! Thank you!
not that smart haha
@@GomeowCreations oh me and many others beg to differ on that! LOL!!!!!
Just a quick idea. I saw on another tutorial. Put the blade on the inside the coil. Makes for a safer cutting.
Hi Thanks so much for this video!!!
How do you do the screw set up to mount it to the table?

Very cool videos thanks for all the info!!!!
😊👍
WOW! and just think, i yet have the old PEPE jumpring maker. that came with the wooden base.
my my how things have changed.
WOW GREAT TOOL What is the largest link size that can be made with this set up ?
The largest size mandrel it came with is 12 mm but it might be able to go even bigger and idk how thick you can make either but it is something I'm going to play with haha.
Ok I never considered using the drill like that wish I realized that sooner🤔😊👍🏾
Well at least you have the idea now haha😄👍
I have to stick to doing them by hand for now. I make them using my 6 step pliers. I'm beat afterwards, but it does the job. Keyword phrase: "for now"
Yeah there are so many ways to do this and how every it works for you 😁
I bought this after stalking it for 20 years. My dad is so jealous...
😁👍
that is cool!
You can get a flex shaft from Harbor Freight for about $50 Not a bad tool just not a Foredom.
Yeah, you can and I'm sure they work well but if you do and have that jump ring setup you have to make sure it fits the handpiece. I have a cheaper flex shaft that it will fit into but it's is basically a copy of the foredom handpiece hah
Can you tell us which size blade cuts across which size gauge of wire. For example, 14 ga = ?size of blade vs 20 ga= ?size blade? Thanks so much!

That's cool I guess, you seem to be more of a pepe tools sales man these days than a jeweler, but to each their own.

Oh yeah there are 2 sizes and I honestly don't know what they can cut but I will have to test some more stuff out with them in the future
