Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! All the other videos show the winding part with the larger mandrels that have the hole to secure the wire. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to get the smaller mandrels to hold the wire! I am still waiting for a call back from Pepe but I need my rings NOW. I'm so grateful for this video! I should have known to come here first. Your videos are always so concise.
That’s was just perfect, thank you! I cut my first jump rings tonight and they are in my tumbler now. So excited!!
Thanks for sharing this video.
I have a similar set called The Quad Jump Ring Former from Durston (except that it doesn’t have the base to hold the parts and that the coil holder has 4 different grooves of different depths for holding the coils of different diameters).
I’ve also experimented a little using it in a different way - to make tubing. I I wrap a section of thin sheet around the mandrel making sure that the edges overlap all the way down. I then secure this pipe in the coil holder so that it is in a position where the saw will cut through the overlapping ends and cut like a coil (having 4 different sized grooves helps here).
This gives a tube where the ends line up better than if I had two hand sawn & filed ends. Now I have to practice how to solder them together without melting the thin sheet. Once I’ve cracked that all I’ll have to do is cut the tube into pieces and it will be a great way to make bezels for small cabochons.
great! super clear explanation and tips. THANK YOU!
I'm very happy to hear that! Thank you so much for watching :)
Oh so exciting I cannot wait to get one!!! Thanks for an awesome tutorial as always!!!
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for watching! 😍
This is so helpful! 👍🏽 Thank you! 😊
I'm so glad it is! Wasn't sure if my explanation would be clear enough, hope it is 😄 Thank you for watching :))

It's an awesome tool and greately speeds up the process :)) Glad you enjoyed video! Thank you for watching
This is such a great tool! Waw! And a nice video as always! 😉
Thank you so much Karolien! :))
Hiya Lady Stardust, nice video dear lady, thank you. Pepe were the first, I believe to put the groove in the blade holder for you to line up the blade to. I think others do it now & copy Pepe. Durston's ring holder has 4 sides I'm not sure how this would help? I wanted one of these from the first time I saw one but the flex shaft, H30 plus the tool itself made the cost to high. Again a clear concise film on how to use a new piece of equipment, you should do these for a living. In fact while we are all locked up could you please make as many videos for us as you can as they are great for teaching & passing the dead time! I've been watching a series called 'Craft in America' good films showing a range of crafts & how they have been helped. If we did one here you would need to be on it & shine! So I'm the first to watch & first to comment, an honer.
kręcisz najlepsze filmy !!
Dziękuję Chris! Bardzo się cieszę, że tak uważasz! 😀 A Twój komentarz po Polsku, naprawdę świetny 😍
przyjemność po mojej stronie
I have been thinking though if I want to buy this device or keep making jump rings by hand. Just can't come to grips with the struggle. I have also had to consider space. I don't have a 100% dedicated studio. I also make clothes in this space. I guess I have to figure out if I want to go from hobbyist to full on business. I'm also a nurse. I truly have my hands full. Decisions decisions. Kind of like choosing a flavor of ice cream, they are all good 😆
When you started off it was what on earth? At the end it all made perfect sense how you described it 😊
What ga wire can be used in Pepe humoring maker?
Thank you for a great video and easy to understand. Is there anything else I need? Is the motor included with the JRM2?
Hi! You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You will need the Foredom motor with the flex shaft, unfortunately it isn't included with the JRM
What gauge wire do you use for your jump rings? Also what gauge would you use to make toggle clasps? Thank you!
for my jump rings I usually use something between 0.70mm - 1mm (so I think that's 20 - 18 gauge). Not sure about the toggle clasps though, sorry! I reckon something around 1mm - 1.20mm would be safe and sturdy?
Is this only for right handed people?
No for left handed people you put the words on the blade facing outwards and use the reverse on your Foredom SR then you hold the handle in your left had and draw it towards you
So many step
What is powering it?
A Foredom pendant motor and a flex shaft
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing I want to buy one, I don't know if it'll cut 16 guage at the 5 or 6 mandrel
I also have concerns with hardness of the wire the this tool can handle
