The dude was 1 in a billion. Could play and had the best personality. Smart guy. Glad I was able to grow up watching him. The best ever.
Naw he wasn't. No social media to break down his every move and drive his gambling ass crazy that's all.

I've heard many different interviews with people sayin he's an asshole... js..
1 in a billion would mean there are about 7 of him on Earth. 1 in a trillion is more likely.

Mike is the GOAT!
Do what? Have sex with the elite for money?
I was 11 watching Arsenio in 92(no cable no internet no choice- you know, the good old days). Epic Times.
Even without a ring, he already was the king!
That’s right ‼️ the true 🐐
Right...when the young thorobred with supremely gifted and acrobatic skills along with never b4 seen hangtime was on full display. Hair on the head MJ slashing to the rim for something exciting for us to see once he was in the air attacking the rim splitting defenders stirring up some acrobatic incredible move, then the release of the ball on his way down giving us something different every single time.

Isaiah really spoke in glowing terms of his most hated rival
And this was in 1990. Jordan hadn't even won a title yet.
Now he I.T thinks LeBron the goat smh
Naw. This was before they were enemies... A year before.
Michael “Air” Jeffrey Jordan is Greatest to ever do it. Lebron and Kobe are/were great but there’s just something about Michael...
BlackIsBeautiful - His ability to dominate, pure raw-talent, and his competitive drive made him the GOAT.
Michael Jordan forever and still the GOAT!!!!!
Those players from kareem and Russell's would've gotten smoked by mj then and in his prime. Old school dudes just don't know when to let go when a better player is around.
More polish too
@MrSpliffstarz their levels to talent that's why there's a such things as hall of famers, not everyone in the NBA is a hall of famer but everyone in the NBA is talented but there's levels to this. Also you can miss me with that more athletic excuse cause those "so called" more athletic players have holes in their game and their longevity is short lived. Most of those more athletic players get injured a lot and will not win six titles
"You see Laimbeer..He can't jump well..he can't block a shot"
Damn MJ tell me how you really feel 😂😂😂
@IzzyFizzy The way he described Larry was actually a compliment...he's crafty...not the most athletic..but he know all them tricks and said he was smart....so perhaps you stopped watching after he said Laimbeer and Bird

Man o man, if I could go back to them 90's!!! Great times!!

I grew up cheering against MJ and it really made him a favorite of mine.
I know the feeling

When MJ still had hair and before his first NBA Championship in '91. Great stuff!
He was already lebron thin at the top with hair on thick on the side
@DevinDawson-xv4kv LeBron James has hair now what are you talking about. And yeah he does have hair here look again stop with the nonsense this was before he started shaving.
@@traviscarter1023 lebron is balding on top. He needs to come home and shave it. Balding is part of life, you'll either go grey or bald, or both. I'm grey about 85 percent grey, if I start balding I'm shaving it.
@metalmacabre9991 LeBron James got that surgery done have you seen him lately I don't think you have. They restored his hairline it looks different from 2015,2016,2017 and he has the money to get the surgery done. Not saying he had to do it because the females is still fuckin with him anyway look at his wife. And so many other women in the world that wanna sleep with lebron. And he's a billionaire I'm speaking like how yall would speak nowadays you know they like to throw that billionaire word around.

Jordan still dress weird now lol
Will Hartley
😂
Chris Jenkins what are you talking about? Tampons?
he may have been acting out his ‘reverend’ character in coming to America
Jordan was having trouble getting 5 Mil back then? damn, he'd probably have a 300 mil contract today.
@Ramses Stafford you are correct.
Yeah Mike was way underpaid back then but he was making 10s of millions off endorsements so he I guess he didn't really sweat it...but in his last couple years the Bulls tried to make up for it by giving him like 30 mil a year..most money per season at that time
@Ramses Stafford, you're correct Sr. Jordan said on one of his interviews on the BIG ass Oprah Winfrey show that today's players get fat contracts and that's why they don't work as hard because of all the money they're being given. He said that him, Larry, magic, Dr J Kareem and Scottie earned their money because it's not about the money and he's right Do you think he was right i mean look at the money they're being given today and now if they get a little cold they wanna sit out and not play or take some time off. What do you think?
@Ramses Stafford, thank you for responding. And ppl wanna bash him for gambling but it was his own money. Yeah he cheated on his wife but at least he never raped, beat her nor murdered anyone. So i guess in these haters eyes gambling is worse than that even though it's legal. Sr. I'm smh😒
@Ramses Stafford 👌
the greatest basketball player of all time
4:50, Isiah Thomas looks the same in 2019 and this interview was in 1989 lol
Yeah, Isiah looks like they froze him. Hardly showing any age at all. Look at Sugar Ray Leonard, too. Same deal.
Hahahahaha
looks like the same hater
same with Ahmad Rashad
MJ looks REAL Young here in this clip. Even with his early success in the NBA he was never afraid of embracing the Dunk Contest to help resonate with the fans. Lebron should have been taking some notes.
makes no sense
He is so awsome
LeBron was only 6 when this came out

Yeah he aged a LOT between 1990 and 1993
Before Isaiah was hating on Jordan LOL
We need these talk shows back!
The next 8 years though....This was was the GOAT before his major accomplishments
MICHAEL JORDAN SUCH CLASS ACT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is such a touching interview considering MJ's father was killed just a few years later. Yes, HOME IS IMPORTANT TO MICHAEL JORDAN.
I like this video it shows Isiah appreciated Michael as a player. Basically Isiah saying Michael Jordan is the best he has ever seen.
Even with the Dream Team bad blood, they still have that respect for what they did on the court.
Super genuine
That part they really don’t want the people to see
Michael said "I do want $5 million but they haven't given it to me". It's crazy how the players had to jump through hoops (no pun intended) to get paid in 1990. Today you can be a rotational player and get a 4 year $70 million contract.
"The Art Of Creativity Is You Gon Always Surprise Yourself, You Never Don't Know What's Gon Happen, It's Just Gon Happen" !

trompetayritmo yo facts Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players along with Allen iverson
Glad I got to see Jordan in real time. The Best.
Growing up in Chicago for Jordan’s whole run. It was INSANE nobody can understand the hold he had on the city
I actually took it for granted because I was just so used to how great he was. But when he left the bulls after the 6th chip and the bulls were torn apart by the Two Jerrys I then realized what a privilege it was to have this man on my home team
n-damn-deed
Jordan put Chicago on the map with those devastating skills.
I don't like Jerry reinsdorf. How you own the bulls and the white Sox and could've gave jordan the bulls and Jerry kept the Sox and let jordan bring us more championships to the city. Smh and you see why the bulls are doing bad
No tattoos. No earnings. No flash. I appreciate how things were back then.
I mean he'd get an earring eventually
Jamal Vines triggered lol
But he later on he wore the one earring.
Did you not see how people dressed in the 90s?
Jamal Vines No one gave a damn about the capital letters.
Michael Jordan will be a legend forever in basketball and this was a good interview with Arsenio Hall and I wish all players acted like this when they speak to all people in the public. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017.
MIchael Jordan has the MOST MAGIFICENT HANDS. He's VERY MANLY. No wonder women love him! Nice voice too.

I'm watching so many old MJ vids rn. Lol. I'm preparing for the Last Dance.
Behind the modest smile he is an ultra, competitive killer, but smart enough and confident enough to keep quiet. No need to tell the world 'I'm the greatest, period', no need for a show as tribute to himself.
Isaiah said it all! MJ is real sweet
May 12, 2020. I know what you mean Arsenio....at the end when he did that last dunk.... all you can do is shake your head. Still fascinated after all these years!!!GOAT!!!
Bobby Knight called him the greatest player ever even before he played in the NBA.
MJ GREATEST OF ALL TIME 💯🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
I love what he said about always surprising yourself within the art of creativity. It's so true. I'm an improviser in music, and I'm sure Mike was just "letting go" every single time he has access to the basketball. I know what that feels like behind a drum set. Great stuff.
This is the 1st time I heard anybody ask Mike that question about his tongue lol. Asked a question I never knew I wanted answered until now.
First time seeing this interview his mentality is definitely unique dude is humble as hell for all the hype he gets in this interview literally compliment after compliment he just smiles and answers humbly still respect 💯
I'm almost 46 years old and watching this interview I felt like a kid again watching my Idol and All time favorite Player.. thanks for the upload
Mike was the man because he knew how to play THE GAME
The most impressive part of MJ s career to me is the fact he was able to leave basketball for year n 1/2. Play a completely different sport. Then come back and then three more championships. And still played to that elite level. When professional athletes take too much time away from a sport. Normally it has a negative affect. Just shows how special Jordan really was.
MJ Brilliant!
“Great to have the respect of your peers”. Great quote by MJ that Kevin Durant should listen to.
That drummer is AWESOME🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great first question by Arsenio... Jordan eventually burnt out after the first three peat... and then had to find his passion again... wow....
So much of that burnout he had was his father's being murdered. That really took a lot out of him and his father always encouraged him to give baseball a real try. And so he did. Touching!
@@2dasimmons So true

And a great role model for kids.
God what a class act. So humble. Greatest ever and it’s not even close.
Greateat of all time in sports history
You're right. Being a musician, you may understand when I say the Michael Jordan remind me of Jazz. His ball-handling like that of Magic Bird and Wilt Chamberlain reminds me of a riff. Very spontaneous and joyous-"letting go.".
Here in 2021. Never seen this before. Man Jordan was a legend before he even won a Chip..
"he doesn't jump well, he can't block a shot....you know he is not gonna block my shot"... LMAO!!!
That was so honestly stated and TRUE.
The best of the best !!!
I like how he discussed burning out, this guy had at least 10 seasons playing into late may- june and didn't ever get hurt. He was jumping, running etc like a madman, there's few players that could do that. Very durable player, he probably took great care of himself off the court or just gifted. I think he's just gifted strong af like lebron is
Extremely underrated comment my thoughts exactly even think of the mental toll even if his body wasn’t giving out mentally he stayed sharp to when he could’ve got tired of it and started playing worse or just stopped trying even
He played 14 seasons and had a broken foot in the 80s, sprained wrist in early 90s, broken finger in late 90s and hurt his knee while on the wizards. Just sayin.
He was and is amazing though!
All the Punishment he took against the Pistons alone was more than Lebron took in his whole career. They banned hand checking the year Lebron started in the NBA.
I vividly remember this interview when I was a young. I believe I was in Junior H.S. Man love this dude, such a class act and humble no Mamba mentality.
MJ‼️THE GREATEST ‼️
Back when the sneaker game was sane
Arsenio was the best late night show.
MJ was such a humble and level headed young man....................and then the championships, money, and everything else happened and hes no where near what he was before the fame.
He did work his ass off to get there. I would be cocky too if i was as talented as he is.
Jc333 Preach..People like the OC always judging...he's a fking athlete. JC.
draggonboy1000 Still doesnt give him the right to be an asshole. Just goes to show who he really is. Both of y'all logic is skewed Jc333
can you cite examples of him being an A-hole?
Jc333 Exactly, MJ changed the game the way Magic & Bird did 10 years earlier and Kobe did after Jordan retired. So when people still mentioned your name as one of the greats or the greatest period & people still buy your shoes too, yeah you get to be cocky too.
MJ was definitely a super talented player. My top 3 all time (not in order): Kareem, MJ, Hakeem.
why every interviews MJ done, he always talk wisely and he chose the right words to answer. THat makes him THE GREATEST.
Lebron and Kobe will never ever match Michael Jordan in this world and the next period!!
Lebron no, Kobe yes!
Kobe is the next best player.

People have to understand that MJ pioneered the game of "above the rim". Its commonplace now, but really unheard of before his greatness played. Lebron and Kobe are great because of the template MJ created.

MJ didn't burn out because he was a training freak, he would train 2 or 3 hours in the gym and swam in the pool every day to stay physically fit the whole season and throughout his career.
Kobe and LBJ followed on his path, both having long-lasting and great careers because of it.
P.D: he would gamble, drink whiskies and smoke cigars regularly during his NBA career, that's what makes him so unique.
