      We did this hike on Oct. 9, 2022. Sounds like your timing will be perfect. I highly recommend this hike if you want to see the larches. Even if you don’t climb Black Peak, hiking to Wing Lake is awesome

      @@marriedmountaineers yay! Oct 8 is the plan! I’m squeamish of heights but it seems at 1/2 summit there’s layers and I’m good with that. The rest can continue up if they want. Yes I’m so excited for the Lakes and Larches.

    How would the scramble compare to something like mt si?

      @@S0GGYS0CKK in our opinion, a little bit more exposure and some more loose rock. Nothing terribly technical though. A little challenging section right below the summit, but more so bc of exposure than anything else. Thanks for watching!
