Climbing Black Peak - One of Washington's tallest mountains!

- At 8970 feet Black Peak stands as one of Washington's top 100 peaks. The 18th tallest peak in Washington stands on the border of North Cascades National Park. Gaining the summit involves a long day crossing talus, steep terrain ans class 3 scrambling. Experience and a helmet are required.
There is a good reason this is often ranked among Washington's best summits.
I hit this one at the perfect time, great weather and peak fall colors. Enjoy!

Loved Black Peak! Lived 13 yrs in PNW, spent all spare time in Cascades which I loved, thanks for bringing back my memories!
We climbed Black Peak maybe 15 years ago. Camped at Wing Lake, which that August was still half frozen. Had the Perseids overhead that night, and the Norther Lights came on in the distance. Your lovely video shows the rest. FYI the two big peaks to the south when you are at the pass are Goode and Buckner
I have camped at Lewis Lake and have hiked up to Wing Lake but that's it. Beautiful view. I wish I was younger but alas I have to be happy with what I am physically capable of. Easy Pass has lots of Larch Trees in a small area. Its beautiful as well.
It's a beautiful video! Thank you for sharing!
You're such a badass. I'll need to work up to this one. I can't wait!
Have to give you full credit, never did a day hike that hard back in my day five thousand feet elevation gain. Lookout mountain four thousand five hundred the most in a day.
11.5 hours?! Daaannnggg that’s amazing. Get it! Way to go. I appreciate the continued inspiration. I continue to add your hikes to my lists. Please keep sharing!
Congratulations, I think you need to join the mountaineers. You would love it!
I am amazed how much energy you are able to put into your hikes, every time I watch another one of your videos my bucket list grows. Your channel is so underrated.
Thank you so much for the support ! I don't know what to say, the mountains just get me energized
Have fun out there!
@@wanderingwashingtonVERY energized, looks like.
That is a rough boulder field but well worth it
congratulations on reaching the summit! You officially have summit fever now. It is very pretty up there. Camped at Wing Lake when we climbed Black Peak. Very clear day again. Nice video. It was nice to visit again. Thanks and as always, be careful!
Thank you, I'm always careful, looking forward to bagging more in the North Cascades in 2024!
Most gorgeous alpine sunrise
Love your videos! I've done a lot of the same peaks you've done here including Black, Vesper, Earl/Bean ridge to name a few. Would be fun to tag a peak with you sometime if you're up for it. I have my eye on a full moon sunrise hike up Ptarmigan Ridge and also climbing Larrabee and W McMillan Spire. Cheers!
Absolutely fantastic. Best film yet. Your photography and film is sharper and more exceptional than before.
Now, because of you, I will add black peak for my next summer list. Thank you. Your video is superb.
Thank you! It is well worth the trip, be careful and have fun out there
I know this video is 3 months old and ive watched it before and watched it over today as i was decluttering and i have to say your energy when you reached this peak got me so hyped up for our journey out to WA soon. We are finally moving there!!!
Oh my gosh that's amazing! You are going to love the mountains here, they are incredible. Thank you so much, to be honest I am still hyped over this mountain
Love your energy and passion!
This is my dream peak! We couldn't summit it due to the injury of my hiking buddy, but next year, I am looking forward to it! Absolutely love your videos and your love for North Cascades ~! I also saw your video on Trappers peak and I got to summit that two weeks back!
Thank you so much, it is so worth the climb. Best of luck on your next summit attempt!
Spectacular! Would have been hard to time it better on the combination of weather as well as the Larches.
You do amazing hikes.
Awesome! We just did Little Annapurna in a day, going up and down Aasgard in a day and felt the same way afterwards lol.
Yeah this felt similar to descending Aasgard for sure. Congrats on LAP that's such a fun climb!
Magical. I was just up at Maple Pass and wondering what the trail to Black Peak was like.
Long and rocky is the answer, but also beautiful
What a video. amazing!!! One question. what time did you summit?
Great video!
What a fantastic woman and nature.🥰
nice view of the moon at 19:40
