    It was so nice to see such a variety of glasses that you were able to sublimate. Everyone of them looks so good. BTW... since you dont appear to sell the neat stuff you make, we would like to see what your kitchen cabinets are like. 🙂

      As long as that printer has sublimation ink installed instead of normal ink jet ink. Epson ET just happen to be one of the easiest to do this with. Thanks for watching!

    Hello new subscriber here. I just purchased the PYD mug press after watching your unboxing video. Now watching this video. Do I need to purchase the other attachment for the 16oz glass can or can I use the attachmnet that came with it. I did read through all the comments before asking.I did see this question being asked. However, your answer was depending on the brand. I have this exact one so would need to get the attachment 😊 thank you in advance for your time and for making this video. It was excellent.

      @JustMightDIY  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! We're so glad to have you here. 😀 PYD now sells so many different configurations of this heat press that it's hard to know which attachment comes with which one. What we'd recommend is to grab the 16oz glass cans you want to sublimate, test them with your current attachment and then go from there. We hope this helps!

    Hi Both - do you know what the temp settings are on the Cricut mug press i.e. first setting 120c? second setting 200c etc. I either melt my polymer cups or I don't do them long enough. Someone told me to do polymer, they need to be pressed at 165 for 100sec's.

    • @JustMightDIY
      @JustMightDIY  Год назад

      Hey! Thanks for your question. There’s no way to control the temperature on the Cricut Mug Press, unfortunately. We’ve found that it automatically adjusts the time depending on what you put in it, but there’s no direct way to control over either the time or temperature.

      @@JustMightDIY How do you compare the oven vs the presses? Pros and Cons?

    • @JustMightDIY
      @JustMightDIY  Год назад +1

      The process requires shrink wrap to create the pressure that the press would give. Overall the time required to oven is more and the temperature control of the oven may not be accurate or consistent. Once you get beyond all that, it's good.

    This may be a silly question but would you recommend that same heating time in a tumbler press with 3 turns for an unfrosted 16 oz glass can?

    • @JustMightDIY
      @JustMightDIY  Год назад

      You should refer to the manufacturer for time and temp considerations. It also matters if you're doing a full 360 design or not. With the 16's we've had experience with, we used 1 turn, but that can change as well on the overall dimensions of the 16oz. We would recommend having a spare one or two for the testing and learning curve. Hope this helps.

  • @Juniko_X

    not sure if you did a 20 oz glass can libby or the 16 but if you did the 20 oz can you be so kind to tell me what's the FULL WRAP around the whole cup measurements! i have bought the templet's and they still don't wrap all the way around :( i wasted so many paper and money and its my first time doing sublimation and i feel like its such a hassle getting the right measurement's!

    • @JustMightDIY
      @JustMightDIY  10 месяцев назад

      Hey! Hang in there measurments are tough, and it's made harder because different manufacturers have different sizes. We always recommend measuring the specific blank you're using and then resizing your image to match.

    • @JustMightDIY
      @JustMightDIY  11 месяцев назад +1

      We wouldn’t do that. While we have put flat acrylic in a heat press, even minor heat causes it to warp, so we have to go through a process to flatten it again. Reshaping a tumbler would be far too challenging in our opinion.

    Can you print on aluminum cans this way with the cricut machine

    • @JustMightDIY
      @JustMightDIY  Год назад

      Never tried it, but most things need to have a special coating to take sublimation. Please note, if the can is sealed and has contents inside it may explode. If it is empty, then the pressure of application may crush it.

    • @wardogdauwdd3020
      @wardogdauwdd3020 Год назад +1

      @@JustMightDIY that why I'm thinking if it's a empty can fill the inside with newspaper to give it enough strength for it

    • @JustMightDIY

      Back pressure could solve the problem of crushing, maybe consider something more rigid. Wood dowel maybe? but the metal on its own won't take much of the ink. This is where subliglaze might come in handy. We used it on wood in this project.
