Sheridan is my favourite of all the characters Paul Whitehouse has ever portrayed... and he's done so many absolute corkers, but I always feel he's at his VERY best playing scatty posh folk, don't you? I love that guy he does in the Gentlemen's Club who asks "Is he a quare?" too... but Sheridan is, for me, #1. He's a work of pure artistry.
It would seem that Charles is undeniably the sharper mind and better rectal surgeon overall, something that Sheridan has been painfully aware of ever since being roommates at medical school, about 40-45 years ago. Charles has always felt secure about his talents, and has no need to disclose his achievements or name drop. Sheridan is slightly more insecure and asks questions incessantly to keep the friendship going on a daily basis, perhaps feigning some scatterbrained-ness for the sake of conversation. But he is also using his supposed inferiority as a means to find out how on earth Charles finds time for his National Health work, which Charles has no intention of revealing, and deftly knocks to one side.
I retired from my job as surgeon two years ago. This brings back such vivid memories! When I was training characters (tossers) like these really did exist particularly in the South East of England. 😃
I used to work in the NHS and believe me, people like this really existed.

Rowley Birkin QC...best paul whitehouse char
His “very, very, drunk” guy in the gentleman’s club is a classic too
He's the best comic character actor there has ever been.
But have we ever consider the question...Is Sheridan a Quare?
..'he's all papers n no surgery ." 🤣🤣
Paul does this absolutely brilliantly. Class act
‘I don’t think he comes close to you in the laparoscopic wranking” 😂
Always have time for the NHS, 40,45 years. Classic, timeless and super talented people.

@@jamesbyrne9312 Not necessarily. Some of them were...some were incompetent wankers m.
@@derin111 well they saved my life as a baby so I respect the eccentric surgeons lol
@DnB and Psy Production 36 years ago, but I still respect the current surgeons, even if they are less eccentric haha
Dear Surgeon
Me thinks you are from the south end of England 😅
Paul Whitehouse doing a Patrick Moore impersonation.
That was my thought too.
absolutely: " which is why he doesnt wrank"
These are surgeons and they are the sort of chaps that would get offended if you called them 'Dr.' they are a Mr.
I love Sheridan my favorite too
My Mum had a saying "Even echoes had a voice".
What does it mean?
I think these fellows are quares.
"Bunny's a quare."
@DnB and Psy Production Definitely quare together when the cameras aren't rolling.
They are married of course. So it would quare the pitch of them being quare.
He looks like a quare
