I like side plates, I seen to many soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan take shrapnel or a shot in the side. My two greatest fears were always being shot in the face or in the side.

Is it because when you get shot in the face if it doesn’t hit the brain stem you will still be alive to experience the pain and slow death while choking on your blood?

This. Wear your fucking side plates. If you feel lime you need a pc, you need side plates.

Side shots are probably the most deadly body shots you can take. Hunters specifically go for side shots because you can easily get both lungs and sometimes double lung and heart. Getting one lung perforated is one thing but both and it's basically guaranteed to be over.
