As a Catholic, I understand what they are doing. They are trying to keep the day as resistance free, work free, and interruption free, to allow more of God's blessings in. As a Catholic, I understand this. The same reason why we fast.

Just stop. So tired of reading nonsense like this from alleged Christians. Following an arbitrary checklist of rules from a satanic book is not equivalent to fasting for Christ. Fasting is denial of the flesh to feed the spirit. They deny the Holy Trinity! You can't feed your own spirit and get closer to God when you deny His Holy Spirit and Son. Period. Trying to find some common ground between walking in the light and walking in darkness is an attempt to be accepted by the world. Start worrying about being accepted by the Kingdom and speak like this no longer.@@gingerjones111

I’m sorry but I’m not understanding is it because electricity can generate heat? Or because it takes fire or burning of gas/coal to generate?
Because if the latter is the case should you not have to shut your entire electric panel off? And then also depending where you live turn off the gas for the heating or hot water tank?
Because those all take fire/burning of gas to create as well so those should also be off/forbidden no?
Also once again if it was the latter then can some people not use electricity anyway? Because depending where people live they get there electricity from nuclear or a large one is hydroelectric dams so that alone could mean you are allowed depending where you live?

Ancient Israel ceased from all worldy distractions on the Sabbaths to have 24-hour holy gathering to pray, praise, magnify, dance, celebrate to YaHUaH
, Elohim of Ysrael all day long. Elohim would appear as Whirlwind of Fire and light and make his servants flames of fire. Every town had a holy gathering place where they had short walk to. Morning until evening praise, etc. The Whirlwind of Fire appears to those who do so literally. They ate leftovers, bread, fruit, etc. during meal breaks. No cooking allowed on Sabbaths. I have seen Whirlwind of Fire appear by Sabbath keeping with 75 men. Us men sleep on mats at Sabbath gathering locations, because traveling is forbidden on Sabbaths, save simple walking. It is important for everyobe to participate with one voice. I have tears.

Where does the Bible says no cooking on Sabbath.

      @jamescobrien 9 месяцев назад

@@rcmkennel9399 Exodus 16:23 says to eat leftovers on the Sabbath and to prepare food on day of preparation, the sixth day. Cooking is a worldly distraction on the Sabbath, commanded to cease from every single worldly distraction to ascend all day long in holy gatherings into the Throne Room where the Glory literally appears. Sabbaths should contain 10 to 12 hours of one voice, one harmony praise to God. 45 minute to 1 hour breaks in between each 2 to 3 hour praise session. The Glory literally appears by twelve hours of one voice, one unity, one harmony praise in a day. Tabernacle of David style praise, dancing, and celebrating is crucial to ascend into the Throne Room. The Whirlwind of Fire should appear by ending time of Sabbaths and into Havdallah. I recommend praising 3 hours, then 1 hour break, and repeat from 6am to 10pm. Prayer songs of coarse can be included in each praise session. The Longer the praises continue (with breaks as mentioned above), the stronger His Presence becomes. Everyone must stay put where they are on the Sabbaths, unless to save life; Exodus 16:29, so everyone has time to ascend. Ends up being four 3 hour praise sessions, and 4 hours worth of breaks this way. Miracles happen big time in 12 hours of praises to God. Then double Sabbaths with 24 hours of praises, and 8 hours of breaks, God's Glory will become thick.

@@jamescobrien IDK what translation you use but the KJV the closest to the original states: And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remained over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. If you provide context God instructed them the 6 days to gather just enough manna for that day and leave none over. Which some disobeyed and gathered more than enough, and the leftover manna they kept on the working days stunk and had worms in it. But they where instructed to gather more than enough on the sabbath to keep on the sabbath so they wouldn't have to go out and gather it on sabbath. And low and behold the manna that they kept over on the sabbath didn't stink nor have worms in it. That verse wasn't saying to not cook but basically don't go out and gather food on sabbath for God will make sure you have adequate food for the Sabbath which is why the manna they kept didn't stink nor have worms.

    • @jamescobrien

@rcmkennel9399 I use scripture4all app on my computer and the website for .pdf. Sleep is for daily rest. Exodus 16:23 says to bake and cook on the day before the Sabbath and to eat leftovers. I hope this helps answer your questions. Cooking, kindling fire, traveling far, gathering, harvesting, servile work, buying and selling, and any other distracting activity are forbidden. That takes people's time away from praising all day long with 45 minute to 1 hour breaks in between each 2 to 3 hour praise session. Prayer songs included in praise. Tomorrow is the Sabbath, bake that you will bake today and reserve the Sabbath meak breaks. Instead of cooking, they just eat together, then get right back into praise this way. Moses obviously spoke this on the sixth day, which is traditionally the day of preparation of the Sabbath.

Lets talk about the meaning behind everything, not just showing a religion of rules and traditions as if thats the main thing in Judaism, just to show how cool we are to follow rules so everyone could see it. These rules are so emphasized in all the chabad videos, that it makes it look like the religion is full of show and tell and just to look holy, "look, we got the laws and we just follow them, and are proud, period". So many religions hide their own "mitzvot" but show the other side of the true meaning of meekness, holiness, and not just "hey im chabad, i do this and this, just for an identity manner ". People stopped showing the true side of the Torah, why was this given in the first place. I doubt Moshe Rabbeinu thought about advertising fridge lighting with humor was gonna be the core message of his future generations. I stumble upon hundreds of such videos and start to understand how people turned a spiritual religion into a materialistic and traditional way of life , basically putting effort on how to look with a pointy hat and make sure the lights are off, dont forget the content humor just for likes, not for the holy sparks of Glory. A religion that is loosing its hope , but grasping onto wordly things, time will come Moshiach will open the eyes and say sacrifice i dont need, but a broken heart and humbleness. Ki Tisa Shemot 32. God doesnt need lights , hats, candles and humor content, he needs the inner soul thats broken and calls upon Hashem for mercy and glory. Celebrities among chabad have become popular due to RUclips and i condemn it, nothing good comes out of it. Showing off your holy practices just because its an identity thing and makes you look holier than others is not the point of Torah. It's not done to show everyone hey this is how a Yid looks like. It's just making people look cool among other religions nowadays, why use the outside to show a difference between cultures? Show what makes us different from Africans and Indians, why we have a holy relationship with Hashem, why we have miracles and healings and help the poor. Are the hats, mitzvah tanks and shabbat laws the main thing that the world sees when they think about us? Moshe was so humble, he had to use Aaron for his sevice. I condemn buddihsm and islam, but their content is presented in such a humble and spiritual way that it makes we think otherwise about Christians and Jews, how religion has made us proud and not humble.

The Bible contains the the text itself as part of the Old Testament but the New Testament is not "based" on the Tanakh, its about the life of Christ and His followers and then the lives and works of those spreading His word (and in the case of the Ethiopian Bible its spread into Ethiopia).
As for "everything you believe and do today" that is flagrantly false, Christians follow almost none of the rules and traditions of modern day Judaism; with many of modern day Judaism's rules coming from the Talmud which is a post Christian work and continued to be added to through the diaspora.
For example we do not keep Kosher, nor is circumcision part of our faith (protestants routinely practice it due to a bizarre set of ideas from the late 19th century), and of course (most importantly) we believe Jesus Christ to BE God, a claim for which He was killed.

First of all, that verse says their own tradition. God told us to keep Sabbath, not a man.
Secondly, you're taking the book of Isaiah, let alone the chapter and verse, out of context. A huge chunk of Isaiah is all about how many Jews at that time were doing what God requires, they were praising God, they kept Sabbath, etc. BUT their hearts and minds were far from Him, and these Jews didn't have the right mindset and enthusiasm, they didn't help the weak and oppressed members of society, and they would sin and do bad things while also then going on to do as God commanded.
This is also a message to Jews today and in the future to prevent it from happening again to such a crazy degree as it was in the time of Isaiah.
I recommend actually reading the book of Isaiah.
