So I'm not saying he should have hit that girl but from the video you see her push him and hit him in the face before he hit her... Why aren't we talking about her assault on him?

corey thomas I think it's more of woman vs men, stop trying to add race into everything...society gives women this protective shield called "being a woman", which basically makes them untouchable and they can say and do whatever they want to men and they'll pretty much get away with it...and guys have to be the "bigger person" and not retaliate...there are no consequences for these women's actions

So any smaller, physically weaker person can go up and push, grab, and slap any bigger, stronger person, and the bigger stronger person, being the assault victim in this case cannot respond at all, other than by walking away. The victim got the best of the attacker, so society blames, no, THE MEDIA CLOWNS blame the assault victim? I hate the woman got injured, but the law does not give her the right to assault anyone, no matter how big or small or gender her victim may be.

Shannon is taking what Stoops said in a very Simple, Face Value way...Stoops was being very calculated and layered in what he was saying, Stoops said 2 and a Half Years later a suspension isn't enough! What has happened in 2 and a half years since that incident as far as Domestic Violence/Assault between athletes and Women? Let's see...Ray Rice, Greg Hardy, Josh Brown, Johnny Manziel etc. so of course after all those high profile incidents a year would not only be insufficient but in these days and times it wouldn't be tolerated as it was 2 years ago. He was basically making a point out of the change in Society's outlook regarding the issue not the issue itself.

I agree. I feel as if Stoops was blinded by the thought of success and at that time it prevented him from determining the appropriate level of punishment. And now that everyone has seen the video, i think he's embarrassed knowing that he allowed this guy to get off easy. So, now he's using this opportunity to save face and say that he would give him a 'more severe punishment' if he could make the choice again.

I still have issues with the fact that no one addressed the fact that the girl was the aggressor. So, both were in the wrong. No one is making the girl accountable for getting in Mixon's face. Are we watching the same tape?

There is never an excuse for hitting a woman. If a woman hits you (and you are a man) you have the right to call the police. She can and probably will be arrested. But hitting her in retaliation can and probably will land you in jail. That is the law. And that is how it works in the real world.

Bunch on clowns on here I see. None of these females hit hard enough to knock out a guy his size. 'oh she hit me hard' lol call the feds on her then champ. If he never touched her and they saw that on tape, he would at least have a shot at pressing charges for assault. Instead you want to falcon punch a female. smh then yall on here screaming, Double standards Double standards lol smh say that after the guy drop your daughter like that. Raise my son to protect himself but to never hit a woman. Yeah they get outta line. Yes they shouldn't hit you either but two wrongs dont make it right. You with a woman that you feel like you want to put your hands on her, then you need to leave that situation if you cant control yourself fam. Because let me tell you something, if a clown hits my niece like that, that might be the last time he may be able to raise his hands again. Stop crying about double standards, pull your skirts down, and be men. I've been hit by women in my lifetime lol but never punched them back. Raise your daughters to respect and keep their hands off of people. Teach you sons the same and teach them to take care of their women and treat them with respect.
And by the way, people need to understand that in life, there are consequences. Second chances come in a variety of forms, so letting him come back and play isn't always the answer in every case. Football is a luxury. If you couldn't play anymore, that doesnt mean you didnt get a second chance at life. Football can make you some money but it isnt everything. There are far more things that are important in life than football. And since we are begging the coaches to be 'fathers' to these you men and give all of these second chances, wat does that say about us so called MEN? Raise your sons because if they make a mistake and get kicked out of the program, you will be there to guide them on what to do next. Not sit back and blame a coach for not giving YOUR child another chance to teach him something. They should be learning the principles of life from YOU. Again, some of yall need to man up and pull some of these skirts down because some of us dont have the athletic ability this guy has and where we are from, aint many second chances in the street or the workplace. Better wise up fam. Peace

      Dr Lee
      Exactly
They act like because the law favors women and ignores our natural differences we as men need to treat women like men.
I'm all for treating feminist women like men because they're asking us to treat them like men. However in general the default treatment of a woman should be gentler than that.

MG23 Thank you. I dont condone women hitting men and think they they need to be punished for it as much as a man would. With that being said, as for me, I couldnt hit a woman like that man. Im 230 and I know what my hands do to another man. For me to do the same thing to a woman to prove a point would be extreme overkill. If u that upset, call po po. Other than that, roll out before u do something you regret. Just because u cud hit her for that doesnt mean that you should.
