Claude Williams I don’t know who your team is bud, but it’s clear you don’t like OU. Do yourself a favor and watch the OU Texas game. OU was the better team and it wasn’t close. Texas was lucky they weren’t beat way worse and the score is only because of a late touchdown by Texas. I watched the LSU game and they definitely had a rougher go and allowed more points. Texas isn’t back (and never will be with OU in the same conference) but they are still a top 25 team.
I really enjoy the one time a week Joel gets on the Herd and destroys Collin on every topic.

The disagreement over Clemson has to do with the definition of power rankings. Are power rankings strictly a reflection of what you’ve seen this season(Joel) or are they a projection for where teams should finish(Colin).
Colin just really doesn’t like Louisiana football teams he’s sleeping on the Saints and LSU.
Doesn't he have the Saints as his #2 team in the NFL? Hardly sleeping. He's also not wrong about LSU's defense being decent at best. He just has blinders keeping him from realizing Alabama is in the same boat.
@Revenge of the Beefsteak Tomatoes LSU's D is ranked 25th overall. And they played Texas who has a good offense. They've held one team to under 100 yards and another to less than 180. I would say that D is better than decent.

The only reason Kelly was anything was because of the newness of the spread, after teams learned how to counter it he went down the gutter, Riley is much more adaptive
William Miller not the spread, the tempo and inside zone runs. He was ahead of his time. Lincoln’s niche is his ability to coach up qbs, but his play calling is not that different from other teams like Oregon’s was at the time. The whole country copied kelly

Devin Barnett That’s what I’m saying, they haven’t shown it yet. If you want to rank teams based off how good you think they CAN BE, Clemson is near the top. If you rank teams based on how they’ve looked and actually played so far this year, they are not top 6.

Devin Barnett If Clemson goes undefeated, they’ll be top 4 and in. Don’t worry. I don’t think they can afford to lose a game though. With the weak schedule and already lackluster performances, I could see a 1 loss LSU/Alabama team getting in over them.

Agreed completely with Colin, crazily enough. Joel is just like every other media personality right now in the “who have they played” and “let’s evaluate based on this season’s results, last season doesn’t matter”, blah blah blah. The problem is last season does matter, this is the same set of key players that torched Alabama’s defense for 44 points. And they just eviscerated Florida State, who is a lot better than they were last year. But you know what? I love it. Absolutely love it. Just keep sleeping and we will see you in December. :)

As a lifelong Alabama fan the narrative is set. I cover all 5 of the major recruiting outlets. Dabo and Brent has their best secondary since they been their. They returned 9 starters on Offense that boat raced my Tide. The 2 players were replaced by 2 five star players with a lot more talent. I believe Alabama and Clemson have EARNED the right for the top 2 rankings. You don't drop either till they lose to a team and not the media. For example I looked at OSU's schedule so far and if you were to put it side by side Clemson has played a lot better football teams. They have won 21 games in a row. They played one bad game and still won. They want to find away to put them in the same bracket which I believe would be ridiculous. I know each team is different but you have to look at the dominance over 4 plus seasons by both. I think that what separates the top 2 programs this season will be coaching. At first they tried to get the 2 fan bases to hate each other. Now they want to find a way to stop a collision course for the ages. I believe we will see Part 5 for the title. Wait till Saban brings in his best recruiting class maybe ever and Dabo hauls in the best class ever that this could be a best of 7. The California kids are the real deal. DJ and Bryce will take this rivalry into a level we all could only imagine. I have a lot of respect for OU,OSU,LSU and Georgia who can compete with the 2 superpowers. When everything is on the line their is NO doubt I believe the big 2 will meet again till I see them lose on the field.
THE Joel Klatt segment on The Herd is my BEST sports content of the week. Mr. Klatt KNOWS his college football which eventually leads to PRO football. Klatt will be on Fox NFL Today as soon as Terry Bradshaw retires.

Even before Klatt said his piece about Riley leaving, he said it perfectly, "there is a case to say in college". He's exactly right and the proven college football coaches do run the show and hold the power, it is not just Sabin.
