Sounds good with both the Strat and the LesPaul. I've never used a compressor pedal. My set-up is extremely simple compared to what some people have. Basically I use one of my 3 different amps and on rare occasions a reverb pedal and or chorus pedal, no more. I don't like to complicate things.
Great video Jack!! I love this pedal.. after a boss CS (too complicated...) I put the dyna comp in my pedalboard and I'm soo happy.. :-) simple and great! Also as a booster it's the best pedal for me
I just recently discovered the many uses of a compressor pedal and I wish I had known all this years ago. I like ready fat clean Jazz tones without resorting to Overdrives as coloring pedals which muddy up my tone. I've been using compressors a lot in front of my amps. I've noticed that the DYNA Comp seems to be tighter when cranked up compared to other compressors which can sound too flubby or boomy. I think the DYNA Comp would be great for lead tones. I plan on getting a few of these for leads.
Use my DynaComp to boost my signal. Like to run the output at 3:00 and the sensitivity at 2:00, then into a Plumes in Mode 2 with the level and gain both at 10:00.
Woah, this was in my reccomend videos lol pretty sure I sold you that dyna comp a while back! Glad it found a good home! I actually switched from the dyna comp to the boss cp1x. Two very different comps
I see Jack, you liked how my dynacomp sounded on my solid state fender, and you had to go ahead and make your own video on it 😂. Great video, you should get that pedal modded with the Ross mods. Also a great pedal to use in the effects loop to beautifully mimic sag.
@@JackFossett first try it by plugging straight into the return with just the dynacomp between you and the power amp. Turn up the sustain level to exaggerate the effect. A light bulb will turn on when you realize you can dial in the perfect amount of sag no matter what the gig!
Hi Jack! I own a dyna comp and have a love-hate relationship with it. I think even when its off it sucks some tone and brightness from the guitar. In my opinion its best performance is clean and with simple pickups, I don't like it with humbuckers unless the sensitivity is almost at 0 and it is used almost as a booster, I don't know if you share my opinion. Thanks, as always. Would you review some new epiphone inspired by gibson or a marshall amplifier from the origin series? Cheers!
Luv the Dyna Comp! It’s a great pedal! Yes, I use it with the sensitivity around 9:30-10 O’clock

My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it!

My favorite...!
Jack , I’m just checking out the Dana comp deluxe with the four buttons. If I already have this original one do I need the deluxe ya think ?
Never used a compressor tbh. Have you seen Gibson are making the Deluxe again, if only I had the dubloons to pick one up.

@@floweru.s.a.9233 oh cool, haha that’s awesome. Thank you!
Can you use a compressor to compress a a compressor And if so where do you put it in the signal chain. ?
Incredible sound 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My go to settings on a dyna comp is output 3 o’clock and sensitivity 9 o’clock

Exactly! Never tried the effects loop trick but thats a great idea

Put a buffer before it and all your highs should be preserved
Use the "Script" ... lovely "musical" pedal ... originally on RoryGallagher's "board" for his TONE
Great playing
I have a feeling that you’re using a penny or something as a pick because it sounds so glassy.
Medium fender pearloid!
Me? You need a compressor, a UniVibe, a delay and . . . That’s about it. Well, drop the delay maybe.
Theres alot you can do with that setup

Too much squish for me, I bought a Diamond CPR1 compressor and never looked back
