    I swapped out the teklok attachment on my sdokedc for a "Quick Clip Pro Holster Tough Grip Clip" found on Amazon and it carries much better now. I drilled new holes so that it does not ride as high and dig into your side.
    Again -- a great knife!

    Nice! 👍 That SDOKEDC reminds me a bit of the Exodus Knife and Tool Adventurecraft.

      I'm gonna shape into a Brisa Bobtail shape . I will slim it down and then convex the edge , it's calling to me 😄

      @@blackhawkbushcraft It's quite a bit smaller , it's a total copy of the Esee Cr2.5.

      I clipped the point and convexed the edge on my Adventurecraft. Shortened her just a touch and thinned her down. Blade finish deleted. Rides horizontal, edge up, just left of my belt buckle, every day.
      Does everything a small knife should, very well.

    I bought the Sdokedc knife off Aliexpress. I didn't want to shell out for the Esee CR 2.5 to prepare game birds. It's a good quality knife and I personally like the sheath, especially the way you can press your thumb on it to pull the knife out.
    The way they bevelled the spine where you're likely to put your thumb but then squared it off further down is a nice touch.
    It's good for working on birds (might be good for fish too but I don't do much of that). Also makes a good paring knife in the kitchen or for doing food prep while camping.

    What drew me to this knife is the sheath the built-in thumb release No other high-end Knife company offices why is that and yes I've already ordered mine from Amazon

    Sdokedc is company like eafengrow etc so without PMI test or at least proper edge retention we don't know what steel it is.

    • @airiksknifereviews9548
      @airiksknifereviews9548  Месяц назад +1

      @to_the_wilderness They are budget blades .
      I use um , sharpen um, and reprofile um. That tells me all I need to know about a knifes steel.
      Thanks for stopping by.

      They state that it's Dc53.

    • @to_the_wilderness

      @@LairdDavidson And that's exactly the problem of these cheap knives. They state it's DC53. Probability that knife for 20-25 bucks is really made of DC53 steel, which is quite expensive, is really low. I'm metalurgist and my experience is that these blades are made usually - in the worst scenario 3cr13, usually the cheapest copies of famous brands, in little bit better scenario of 5cr15 (steel like victorinox) and in almost the best scenario 8cr13/8cr14. You can believe ganzo, sanrenmu, enlan, but not Eafengrow (there is 50/50 chance) and most likely all cheaper knives like SDOKedc, Wkopya etc. Simple test, DC53 has Chrome max 8%, thats mean citric acid makes stains easily after a few minutes. If not, it's most likely some cheap CRV stainless steel like 3cr, 5cr, 7cr or 8cr..

    I have the SDOKEDC and it's a fine knife. The teklok sheath is not my favorite, but I can work around that.

      @smallfarmsurvival4026 It's a great little blade bit that sheath is a bit silly especially the waste of material. I'll probably get my own and do some tweaking to that sheath.
      Thanks for the comment .

      @LegionTacticoolCutlery The quality control is excellent. For $20-40 knives in DC53,D2 and 14C28N it's crazy. Also I hear people say "That steel is probably crap or it's not legit" .
      I've used these knives no different than my expensive ones and honestly I'm just as happy if not more happy with my purchases.
      I know you know this, you've tested a ton of their stuff. I want to see them put out more scandi blades , legit bushcraft designs.
      That one blade that looked like an
      LT Wright GNS has disappeared, I hope they come back I wanted one.
      That had an awesome big scandi edge in D2 for only $45

      @@airiksknifereviews9548 For $20-40 knives in DC53,D2 and 14C28N it's crazy. Yes, it's crazy, because it's not true. Most likely 5cr15 or 8cr. How I know? DC53 or D2 are not stainless. DC53 has max 8% of Cromium (citric acid make stains in a few minutes, D2 lets say 20 minutes) and these cheap knives are alway stainless like cheap chinese Chromium Vanadium steels. 14c28n you can test only with edge retention (or PMI). If it can cut sisal rope less than 100 times, it's probably not 14c28n (or badly hear treated). The best heat treated 14c28n can go up to 250 cuts. DC53 up to 300. D2 up to 350 or even 400.

      @Robertssurvivalsystems I never have owned a Crkt blade, which is weird cause I live in NW Oregon.
      Their minimalist series looks really cool and lightweight . I used to like neck knives and wore them constantly, but my disc issue has made doing so literally a pain in the neck 😏

    I believe they are both Watchman brand knives Watchman owns Brother I believe. 👍

    • @to_the_wilderness
      @to_the_wilderness Месяц назад

      Zhejiang owns about 6 similar brands and like Brother they all lie about the steels used. Quite common 8cr14mov instead of labeled VG10, 440C, 14c28n and D2. To save money, they make tens of thousands of different models from one huge coil, with different markings. 8cr is not a bad steel at all, but I probably don't need to say that is not VG10, 440C, 14c28n or D2. In the worse scenario it's 5cr15 (mostly used on cheap knives, similar to victorinox but not so well heat treated) or even 3cr13 which is really bad. I'm metalurgist.

    If a company can’t design a knife of their own, they should just steal someone else’s design and change the name. I wouldn’t accept these knives even if someone gave them to me. It’s blatantly obvious they are exact copies of Esee designs right down to the sheaths. Yeah they’re cheaper and don’t use the Esee logo but they’re knock offs just the same.
