Did it make anyone else laugh when he was saying how cute the snails eyes r then when he talked about how much he didnt like the slugs he poked his eyes 😂😂
Pokey pokey
Speciesism!!
“Gastropod Trap Monday”.....doesn’t have the same ring.
lmaooo
"Give it a little squish"
Mollusk trap Monday?
How about "Gas- *trap* -od Monday" instead?
"Belly-foot Day" gastro/stomach pod/foot. doesn't have that Mousetrap "snap" to it. :D
“Lets try it out with some of my pet slugs”
"ew gross!; don't step in your own slime..."
pet slugs indeed are a thing for some people. 🤪
Everything is now pet. How do you pet with it. Just wondering 🙄
@@atanea2867 Literally by touching whatever your pet is
@@Dr._Spamy ew imagine owning a shitty offspring of a great wolf.
owning pets like snakes and slugs is great
Slugs are basically homeless snails!🤔
What would happen if you put a small slug inside an empty snail shell?
He would be a king slug because he lives in a castle😊
@@-danR he'd move on and leave it behind. Slugs ain't like hermit crabs.
Lol
You mean boneless snail
I think you should give the slugs a little flip
I'd throw salt on them.
Into the garbage.😂
It's been a while since the last flip. I miss that.
I actually like snails and slugs so watching this got me pissed
😂😂
"I didnt know, that snails would eat a mouse"
Snails have the hardest teeth, as far as i know.
Sharpest?
@@Jroobelucios I think they have hundreds, if not *_thousands_* of teeth
Snails have TEETH????
Hyper Kitten lol
OddlySketches
No, hardest! Apparently snail teeth is ahead of spider silk as the strongest material found in nature (and spider silk already has steel nearly beat in tensile strength, so that’s insane).
I love how they just stick to things, like a refrigerator magnet
Watching in 4K on a 65-inch screen gives a new meaning to gag reflex.
I use beer on a small dish to get rid of slugs and snails
somebody who knows
@Average Joe78 You take a bowl, set it in the ground so it's lip is nearly flush with the ground, and put in a couple of inches of beer. The slugs go in and don't seem to be able to get out. I don't know if the alcohol kills them or they just drown, I've never watched it but it does work. I often feed the live slugs to turtles, who are very fond of slugs. A house I once lived in had a goldfish pond near my garden the turtles from the pond would go into the garden and hunt slugs.
Yeah I had heard this too. Shallow pie pan, fill it with beer. The snails are attracted to the yeast I think, and they end up drowning in the beer.
Problem is, it attracts football fans.

There's almost nothing worse than the smell of a decomposing snail indoors. Hard to find, but there's just that nostril clogging odour..
I don’t have a sense of smell
🤢
@@bergljotganaze1323 did you have an accident or something? I've never heard of someone being born without a sense of smell. Also does it effect your taste as well? I'm sorry but I'm just very curious.
@@vincefosterd well an absence of any sense is possible

At 1:36, I had to laugh at your voice’s inflection when you said, “Who knew a slug would eat a dead mouse?!?” Love your videos, Shawn!
Rats eat snails, probably slugs too, so it only seems fair
EVERYTHING eats mice.
@@zoppie I don’t
I never realized how gross they are up close. Consider me blessed for not having a slug problem.

I was waiting for him to say: "Go on inside..."
At least he actually wore gloves!!
Timestamp?
Lol, true
There is a product called bug getta, or snail getta that is little pellets that you sprinkle around the garden and they eat it and they can’t get back under the shade and the sun just cooks them, works great, but 50 dead snails, smells like 50 cooked snails.
How does it works? They can't get shades? What, how
Doctor Who Cares I think you sprinkle it out where there is sunlight, and when they eat it it paralyzes them, so they get stuck under the hot sun.
@@gircakes Ah that explains more
Shawn: Today the rats and mice are safe-
Snails: RUUUUNNNNN-!
Recently we caught a skunk with a long cylinder shaped skunk trap from my neighbors. The idea is that it’s too narrow for the skunk to raise its tail and spray and we didn’t get sprayed at all when dealing with it. There are similar ones like it online called the Super Tuff Skunk Trap you should give it a try
Did u pet it?
Fun fact, coffee grounds repel slugs and snails. Just scatter them in your garden periodically
I think it is a myth. Maybe some sub species. We had a massive slug infestation and they were eating the coffee
Other bugs would just be attracted to the grounds
I don’t know about slugs and snail but it does repel squirrels
We used ashes from furnance
I was told Diatomaceous earth will do the same thing. A snail ate my marigold leaves, all but one plant died, and the one is barely hanging on.
The one you had with stripes on it's back is a leopard slug. They eat fungi and rotting plants but most importantly other slugs! good to know, i always spare them since i rarely see them eat my plants.
I like it when people don’t do stuff like “Save the slugs and snails”
What do you mean?
@@ShafiqRUclips81 he probably meant the very old comments were doing that
That snail is great. Big, old, happy and healthy. She looked like something out of an enchanted forest.
I love snails and slugs they eat mostly decaying matter in my garden I mulch with spoiled hay and they stay off my plants the hay keeps the plants moist and full of nutrients… I love your videos you always do a great job making everything look so easy and practical
the snail with the tiger pattern is a beneficial and eats the brown slugs and their eggs!!! i am shocked. here they are collected and released in the own garden to fight the brown slugs without poison. no one would ever harm them.
I don't know what you're shocked about. He didn't kill it. He specifically said the snail he captured was native and not a pest.
The best solution for slugs: ducks
Pretty sure ducks eat strawberries also 😂
Ducks kinda suck though, they are extremely messy, worse than chickens. Plus they don’t taste good and they’re annoying as hell
"Hey! (Bum bum bum) Got any slugs?"
I love ducks. We used to have them when I was growing up.
@@ape_man504 ??? They taste fabulous.
I find it ironic that I got a Disney ad at the beginning of a mousetrap Monday video!
Here in my country, we eat those.
We got a very typical meal called "cargols a la llauna" (canned snails)
No way you'd eat a slugs. Nothing else will eat them.
Escargot is raised specifically to be eaten. Garden snails are NEVER recommended to eat as they could have been exposed to toxins, poisons and harmful bacteria.
Always eat only the canned ones as they have been raised and passed all the inspections.
@Ayden Ponce im guessing france
Bonissims!
I did some things on the translator, and “cargoes a la llauna” means canned snails in Catalan
"Snail trap Saturday" would be a nice name for this
No one:
RUclips: wanna see a 10 dollars snail trap?
Me: Why not?

Lol why did you throw it’s own eggs at her?!?!
I spray my garden with a mix of dish soap, cayenne pepper powder and chewing tobacco.
I spray my garden with a mix of deer urine, bleach, and tobasco sauce. keeps those pesky humans thar steal my tomatos away
@@ecpcharles I had a co-worker who only had a small strip of land near the street for produce. The pesky humans were a problem until he decided to grow nothing but super hot peppers one year. I think he had ghost peppers, habaneros and Carolina Reapers. Some of the problem human's mothers showed up worried so he put a list of the plants by the front door. The reason he planted just peppers was that he didn't have time to harvest that year.
Great... and then you have a contaminated soil :/
@@vladimirrolandfusilero3823 from my local dear urine dealer
I had slug problems in the past, and the best trap I've found for them is to just take a plastic cup, dig a small hole in the dirt for the cup (so the cup is flush with the surface) and fill the cup half-way with beer. Cheap and very effective. One week of this and I completely decimated the slug population; haven't had a problem since.
*Random plastic green snail with favorite foods inside appears in the place where slugs snack*
Slugs: This seems... Completely safe.
Very interesting creatures and great camera work! Very cool to see them so up close and in such fine detail.
I was waiting for the Spongebob narrator " Two hours later" during the inside test.
That snail is so adorable
I’ve always wanted a big pet snail
I'm mildly terrified of snails actually. Trauma from reading Uzumaki
same, but not because Uzumaki. Their mouths and breathing holes freak me out.
2:41 that was funny lol
Man, snails are so cute. I used to have a pet snail but sadly he managed to escape, he left like 30 eggs tho.
He?
@@DarkAngel-zy8xi 😅
Guerrero Pijao that’s great! I don’t understand why so many people hate slugs and snails...
Mine left 70.. At least thats how many were in the tank.. I waited till they got bigger and let them go. They were native to my town anyway
@@rextunde3870 Because they devour everybody's goddamn gardens, and even a lot of large-scale farms. They do so, so much damage.
a old dog food bowl filled with beer works every time.
Used to do this during the summer when i was growing up in new york.
Thanks for the videos Shawn. Wishing you and your family the best!
Why these traps always assume gastropods have issue with sharp edges, I've seen video of them climbing on knife
That has nothing to do with it. These companies know that but they make them look the way they do because it looks nicer to the person buying them. Technically anything could be a snail trap. Like a plastic cup or whatever but a cute little green ceramic snail just looks aesthetically nicer.
close ups on snails make me wanna rip my eyes out
That's weird. I think slugs look pretty amazing.
Ok but why tho
They’re just little slime babies
(Taken from another comment)
Bring in more of these snail traps! I love watching them!
2:40 that slug really do be vibing tho
I wish to consume the snails.
That makes one of us!
Escargot anyone?
if you want rat lung worm that's a guaranteed way to get it
Weird flex but ok
I thought those were invasive snails from Europe, I know here in California there is only one native snail and it is tiny and flat so obviously different!
Love how the slug at the intro was like pulling the other snails shell down.
Great idea and thanks for sharing this with us.
4 seconds into the video: DEMONETIZED
slugs are just looser snails that are homeless
I don't know how well it catches snails but a trap filled with beer? Bob and Doug Mackenzie would be all over that!
Rats love to eat snails. I find snail shells in my bait stations all the time. I've used contrac blox, ditrac blox, and final blox.
I didn't realize N. America had native snails. I was under the impression they came over during the gold rush with a Frenchmen
Where I live, snails and slugs could spell death for someone if they didn’t wash their fruits/vegetables all the way through. They carry a parasite that will slowly eat a human’s brain and nervous system over time.
My grandmother is in the hospital right now fighting through it. If we kept her at home any sooner she probably wouldn’t have made it.
She’s doing well now, thankfully.
The snails and slugs look so
CUTE!!! :)
Sean I have no need for traps of any sort but the show is mesmerizing and I love it
My grandma used half a bottle that was filled with beer and was level with the surface for her garden.
Now this is a new trap. I like the variety!
The snail in the intro his shell was coming off :o
Always enjoyed the channel keep on keeping on Shawn.
Idk why this is recommended and why i am watching this while doing my homework
But I'm not complaining
I have never seen slugs that large in person. Very impressed.
Keep it up, Shawn, you're an allstar
Different. Tanks Shawn. Good vid.
never in my life have I heard of a snail/slug trap but, wow
Thanks Shawn I just threw up my dinner but was happy you used gloves to touch them
This is the earliest I've been on this channel
Nobody really cares
I'm so happy you are still doing these videos keep it up :D
From the looks of things the snails might have gone into the trap to get into the shade, a control test would be in order; a test without any bait.
I'm impressed that the snail didn't went back into it's shell when he was handling it.
Good vid. Thanks to you,Sir ! 🌞
I always hunted sluges with my little sister and grandma it was fun.
Oh wow! A slug eating a mouse, crazy!! Lol thanks for another awesome video! 👍
I find the most effective method to go out after sunset when it has been raining, armed with a flashlight, rubber gloves, and a bucke with a bit of soapy water. A hundred slugs in 15 minutes. The soap prevents them from climbing out of the bucket.
I don't know if someone said this one yet but Beer kills snails. Lay out a bowl of beer. Snails get drunk. Snails drown in beer.
Or this would be the most macabre beer commercial ever. I just remember it off of TV years ago.
A bowl with beer is enough in my garden to catch the slugs and snails. Here in de netherlands (Europe) we call slugs 'naaktslak'. Literally translated it says 'naked snail'.
That's fascinating; so "slak" is Dutch for snail? It seems like it has a shared etymological origin with the English word "slug." Ever so slightly counter-intuitive, haha
I loved collecting snails and slugs when I was younger and I still do
I had this old lady neighbor when I was growing up, she would use crushed egg shells to keep slugs and snails out of her garden, no idea if it worked but it was nice to have someone to give our discarded eggshells to
I spend plenty of time teaching snails how to fly. Took a few months but I brought the population over the years way down in my yard.
I found this video and showed it to my cichlids now it's feeding time
My line with slugs is stay in or around the compost heaps and I won't cut you in half on evening slug hunts. A few years of natural selection seems to be working.
I may or may not have been filling mine with Henny… this trap definitely works. Thumbs up from me
Great video Shawn
I subscribed, I'm literally interested and fascinated about these stuffs
I got goosebumps while watching the video
👍👍💜 Thank you Shawn again!🌞
these things are gnarly
2:47 I'm concerned about the fact that I laughed way too much because of that
This is cool, you should do more types of traps!
0:01 slug was like “GIVE ME YOR SHELL”
That slime is just grooooossss
Why watching this gives me goosebumps
Snail: Ah, I see some foreign nudists have invaded.
Slugs: Eh go lick a salt shaker ya prude!!!
Nice another fine addition for my bug city
Enjoyed the video of something completely different
I need more slug traps, I beg you
Action packed!

It’s nice to hear from someone on here who’s not afraid to kill a few pests, as if killing a mouse is some moral dilemma to be avoided
