I tried to learn Intuitive L4E but it is too tough for me, I think keyhole might be a good method for me to learn. I also think L3E recognition is easier in top first methods than V first methods. Thank you so much for this tutorial John 😀
You don't know how relieved I feel after knowing that there's still hope. There's still hope for humanity to defeat the dark side of pyraminx. Also known as V-first.
One more thing (sorry for posting multiple separate comments, but I think people should see this), what Nutella algs should be avoided? Also I think you should a video in which you show the execution of all algs (if you haven't thought of it already).
I avoid using the 2 centers in, 2 centers out, and the 3 center cases that aren’t CW or CCW. One of my next videos will be about turning in top first, so execution of algs will probably be in there. Don’t worry about the quantity of comments, I appreciate the feedback😀
Is that a cubicle mr m? The tips from my cubicle mr m just fall of al the time. Btw do you think I should learn Top first if I am averaging 3.0 right now?My goal is to get top 10 er
Yeah I have that issue too, if you’re satisfied with the tensions you can glue them down. I used this liquid superglue stuff that worked great. Also, yes I would recommend learning top first sooner rather than later, especially if you’re going for sub-2.4.
BTW I personally think Oka should be learnt before keyhole. The two methods are very similar and they can get you into intuitive solves early on. Also you forgot the Oka algs where both pieces are stuck in the top
I think a combination of wrist turning and flick turning is best. For keyhole wrist turning works nicely but for the rest of the methods it can be substituted with B moves. My next video will explain turning styles and stuff like that.
It depends on how fast you want to get. If you’re sub 3 with l4e and satisfied with that, don’t worry about top first stuff. If you want to get faster, I would recommend learning top first early on because down the road method neutrality is ideal.
What major tips do you have to get sub 5 average with keyhole? because I didn't even think that was possible but you sound like you know what your talking about.
To get sub 5, I would recommend doing a lot of practice (which will get you more comfortable with the method and develop tps/fingertricks). You can also do untimed solves to work on being as efficient as possible without worrying about times.
Dude, I'm method neutral
Oops I thought you were mostly top first but that you knew and used a little l4e
John Gaynor method neutral but only does top first 99.9% of the time
uau iam your faz tymon
Wot is method neutral bruh
@@ooiyi8087 can do any method
Finally, was searching so long for a video, that explains more steps, to improve my times with the keyhole method. Thanks a lot!
This video is gold. I thought all tutorials were from 2012
Is this a top first tutorial in 2019?!!?!?!?!?!

Thanks! This will definitely help me improve.
I haven't found many tutorials on top first so this is great.
Thanks! My goal is to fill the gap of top first knowledge on RUclips. More coming soon😁

I am qualified to rate this tutorial 11/10 because I'm sub 7 global like 7 weeks now
This is actually a great tutorial !! Thank you so much !!!
pretty good video :D its funny I still know these methods :DD but I am jsut watching you guys making new records :D i am too old for pyra now.
Azért még szoktál kicsit gyakorolni pyrát? :D

Nice job ★
Very nice
I quit v first I’m switching to top first
same
same
Same
Nope switching to neutral
Nice video this is exactly what I was looking for
Is it worth it trying to stick to only one of these methods or just learning them all is the way to go?
BTW I personally think Oka should be learnt before keyhole. The two methods are very similar and they can get you into intuitive solves early on. Also you forgot the Oka algs where both pieces are stuck in the top
Oops yeah, forgot to include that. Generally I just avoid doing those cases because the fingertricks are a bit weird
@@johngaynor2181 L R' L' U' R' and mirror are actually ok. The other one not so much
Do you think it makes sense to relearn from a wrist turning style?
I think a combination of wrist turning and flick turning is best. For keyhole wrist turning works nicely but for the rest of the methods it can be substituted with B moves. My next video will explain turning styles and stuff like that.
Have you tried v first and if so why do you prefer top first (im v first and might switch)
Dude i learned full wo in 1 minute
So since I wanna start getting into pyra I learn keyhole first? (I already know beginners method)
Or intuitive l4e if you wanna go v first
Here from Tymon
do you think method neutrality is necessary to become sub 3?
You can definitely get sub 3 using just top first or v first. However, if you’re looking beyond that, learning both methods will get you further.
Ok thanks man, how much I'm going to need to become sub 4 with L4E as well?
What method do you use?
I use every method shown in this video
@@johngaynor2181 THanks
nice bro
Ayyyy
If I'm already sub 3 with L4e, is it worth it to try to learn this as well?

In that case, I would learn top first sooner rather than later.

tetrahedron?
its like a 3-sided pyramix+ the foundation
Is top first any better then v first?
I will make a video on this soon
You didn't show all the nutella cases for 2C
nutella? count me in
Yay top first epic
Which Pyraminx do you use
Mr. M
Thx
What's your pyraminx?

Dw and Dw' algs for 1 flip is good?
They can be, it's more of a preference thing. I haven't been able to determine whether or not flick fingertricks would be faster.
should we learn v first before top first ??
You are definitely not qualified
One look tutorial
minty?
I don’t consider minty a method
Are dank Dw moves out of fashion now?
My next video is gonna be about turning stuff so I’ll be sure to talk about wide moves. Long story short, wide moves are still good.
@@johngaynor2181 ok cool. It's still true that I need to change my turning style though.
The Physicist Cuber I prefer the Dw algs and use them a lot
@@parkertrager4849 That's what I do too
I don't understand why you shouldn't main WO but you say you should main 1 flip. What makes WO so bad compared to 1 flip?
It's much common to get 1 flip rather than wo, plus wo algorithms are longer that 1 flipm
I predict WR in 2020
Ah, if only you knew in 2019 what the future would hold...😂😥
Easy
420th like :)
You forgot 2 cases in nutella metod
Yo
NOe
I struggle to believe anyone can get 5 secs with keyhole it just doesn't make sense
I get sub 2 in it
