    Original release 2000 AP1 owner here and I absolutely love it! The S2000 is the greatest roadster/convertible and one of the greatest cars/sports cars of all time. Period.

    I own both a 2000 Targa NSX and a 2006 AP2 S2000... Love them BOTH !!!!!!!! In fact... You need both... different cars... different fun... But both perfect toys !!!!

      I own a 2001 S2000 I’m thinking of getting an NSX or a McLaren. The NSX is priced at approximately 80k or more, but for a budget of 120k, I can afford a McLaren from the 2016-2018 range. However, because I really enjoy the driving experience of the S2000, I am inclined towards choosing the NSX.

      Agreed! The NSX is a refined GT car while the S2K is more raw.

      @@edgarpanduro2048 my advice... and for a better experience... don't buy a 91-99 NSX... Buy a 2000+ NA2... They have all technical upgrades ( brakes, ALB, gearboox... ). With older versions, you'll get the crappy old ALB system... which will seize sooner or later... Buying a 2000+ will match the year of your S2000... ( 2000-2001 still have pop-up's headlights for old school guy like me... and 2002-2005 have the new fixed headlights for the kids... 🙂

      @@CRXMAN00 Great comment! For me an original NSX has to have the pop up headlights. The fixed headlights lose a lot of the original old school flavor of the car and don't look near as cool. I'd take a 2000-2001 for sure! 😎🔥

    my dad had the 93-94 NSX, 97-98 Acura integra type R. I have the 05 s2000, and 19 FK8 TYPE R. They are all good in their own respect. The point is, Honda is the only company that excel at having out of the box motorsport vehicle. The are great balance of chassis, suspension, engine, gearing, feel. Toyota can't do it without heavy aftermarket, Nissan just blows air in everything (the American way). The only one to come close would probably be Mazda...but their shortfall of rotaries hinder them.

      Hi there. Thanks for the comment. Yeah - it is a different driving experience altogether. I would too! ;) However, there are certain charms of S2000 that are impossible to replace with a larger, stronger engine. If you pressed me to commit to 5 cars that I could not live without: 1) Abarth Competizzione 2) Honda S2000 3) NSX 4) Lotus Elise or Evora 5) Audio AllRoad 6. It's like living different life each time your swap them. Greetings and thank you for watching!

    The S2000 is the perfect litmus test for car enthusiasts. Those who say "its too slow" don't understand what actually makes driving fun outside of sheer speed.
    I've had plenty of faster cars, and compared to my motorcycles, my s2000 is an absolute snail, but the s2000 is the only one i havent, and will never sell.

    Great video. On days that suit the top down, I’d drive the S2000, on all others, the NSX. I have a nice ap1 S2000, and it is the perfect top down sports car. Wind noise is low compared to other convertibles and t-top sports cars I’ve driven, and the climate control really is great even with the top down. And the top goes up or down easily and quickly in only six seconds!

    The s2000 gears are shorter so more shifts/fun. The NSX has longer gears. 2nd gear on the nsx can reach 80mph.

    The NSX is clearly the superior car. However, the S2000 has a much lower barrier to entry ($$$). I hope to own both one day.

    • @michaelnguyen2975
      @michaelnguyen2975 9 месяцев назад

      2000-2001 model because of the stiffer rear suspension, but that's the way the Honda racecar testers wanted. 2004+ has updated suspension to dial down the loose rear.

      A1 model perhaps is less stable - but this is only if you drive it to the edge, in which case, the drivers who know how to get the most out of S2k also know how to use that "disadvantage" to their advantage. I have the facelift model - and do drive it reasonable aggressively as it should be driven - have never noticed any instability. Rock solid. Change the exhaust to slighly more sporty and have fun!

      It is a snappy car but you can have a road setup on it and that resolves the spinning issues. The choice in road setups is track, fast road and safe. If you have it safe it will have to be driven extremely hard to spin.
      The above is from my experience
