As a guy who likes to make things, I salute your DAD!! He did an excellent job of designing and fabricating that trailer!! When I was a teen, we had all sorts of ways to earn money. Cutting grass, running errands for neighbors, selling worms and crickets to fishermen, selling pop bottles to the stores, washing cars. etc. Young people don't know how to hustle any more. If they do, I just don't see it around me.

I volunteered as well as worked from a very young age. People who are here "remembering" should also recall that neighborhood kids of all ages playing outside together has given way to organized sports. Single income families ended in the 80's, that had an effect, no one to watch while kids are outside.
I began working when I was very young but I DO NOT agree with the relaxation of child labor laws. That has coincided with defunding public schools...? I taught my son to use our lawn equipment when he was age 12. Over the next two years he build a steady clientele of neighborhood customers. He would work 6 to 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday and knock off a few lawns during summer evenings on two or three days per week. He shoveled snow for those same customers throughout the winter months. At 14 he purchased his own commercial mower, blower and two string trimmers with hedge attachments. By then, his income was far exceeding any of his friends who were working 25 hours plus per week working at fast food restaurants. He acquired his driver's license at 16 and soon after purchased a low mileage, 10 year old pick up truck. When he completed high school, he made the decision to not go on to university and I couldn't disagree with his decision. He then acquired his first snow plow to insure continuous winter work. Over the next 10 years, he expanded with the second truck and snow plow, then the third truck and all the additional equipment to stock the vehicles for three crews. He typically has 8 employees during the summer months and retains 5 of them throughout the winter. Today, his landscape and property maintenance business continues to grow, maintains about 160 residential and commercial customers and his personal income exceeds any doctor that I know.

Your channel came as a suggestion, cause i often watch garden channels to unwind from busy days.
Kudo's to you for starting to work at such a early age. Great trailer, fantastic piece of kit!
I own a small repairshop for audio equiptment now, but like you i started working after school at the age of 14.
When people called my parents house to ask if i could do a housecall, to fix their gear, (no cell phones in 1983), i showed up with my backpack full of tools at their doorstep on my bike.
Made great money for a 14 year old guy, and it made my goals possible.
Good luck on your future, you're of to a great start,
    Cheers from the Netherlands.

This young girl reminds me of the days when we used to have paper routes. In the late seventies, I had a afternoon route for the Tempe Daily News. I helped my buddy with his , the Arizona Gazette route at 3am, every morning. For a young gal to do this in her community just says all you need to know about her. She sets the rocord straight that not all kids live in the basement under a pile of fast food, and play video games not mention use social media, all day and night. Totally brilliant kid and parents/parent. You just know work ethic has been passed down to her. I'm a Garden designer, she's inspiring to me. Suoer cool set-up. Exercising while helping people. A great combination for a healthy lifestyle.

Very proud of this young lady. When I was 9 in the 60's, I dragged behind me a push mower. Knocked on doors and got 5 to 10 bucks a yard. Bought my own school clothes and helped in the family. Kids today are amazing given the chance and with very supportive parents equals nothing but great things.
Be safe out there everyone and support these young ones out there doing something very positive. 😊

This girl watches the traffic. Twice she stopped talking to watch, the first time when a sports car went by. I'll bet she knows what she'd do if a guy started giving her a bad time.
I'll bet she can make hundreds in cash every day she's out there, from May to September. I'm very impressed, and congratulate her parents big time (and her!).
