Michael was THE guy that inspired most all of the 80’s (Hairband) guitarists to pick up a guitar and learn to play. He has been playing non stop professionally since HE wrote the Lonesome Crow album at 16 years of age that became the Scorpions first album. The Scorpions didn’t even exist when Michael wrote the album. They threw together the band in only about a week after Klaus and the boys talked Michael into letting them be on the album.
Oh man that brings me back to the late 80s, when I was hanging out with these guys every night in our favourite bar in Hannover Germany. Great memories.
I just saw them on May 11,2022 for the 50th Anniversary of MSG in Barcelona on their Universal World Tour 2022. ROBIN still with his pure beautiful voice intact as if no time had passed…!!!! ❤️ And SUCH a GREAT guitarist with HEART and SOUL MICHAEL SCHENKER IS!!!! ❤️ UNSTOPPABLE through time with all the renewed energy!!!! ✨ He's an all-time great and he's still kicking butt. Michael gave commercial hard rock a shot but it didn’t pan out he went off the deep end on crack and a brilliant career was put in limbo after this. Nice to see him back out there on the road but he deserved so much more

The Scorpions put on a master class on how it's supposed to be done at the US Festival. I've seen em live several times and they never disappoint.
You are like me. When I go to a concert I expect the band to sound just like the studio album. If they didn’t I was bummed. I saw bands that were so bad in concert that I knew local cover bands that were better at playing the songs than the bands that recorded them. Everyone seems to love Alchemy by Dire Straits. I hated it. I never made it listening one time through the album before stopping it. Mark Knopfler is a great guitarist but he just ad libs in concert and I want it to sound the way they recorded it in the studio. I judge a band by their ability to play their songs perfectly live. I went to the concert to hear the songs that I liked on the album. That’s what sold me the ticket.

I saw Robin in Vegas for Rock Vault. This guy is so talented and energetic and just downright amazing that I was crushing so damn hard before the night was over. And he was so NICE! After the show, the very talented cast allowed us to come and meet them. I went up to Robin and asked for a picture, mentioning it was my b-day. He gave me not only one, but TWO kisses on the cheek and handled my tipsiness so graciously, bless him. Such a sweet wonderful man. And the show is AMAZING! Go see it !
That is an awesome clip of that lineup from "Save yourself" album. Robinn sounds amazing live as the whole band does too. I wish Michael would still have this lineup, Steve Mann was a perfect guitarist along Schenker.
George Lynch is my favorite hair guitar player. LOVE DOKKEN. In 35+ years of playing I've gotten the songs down pretty good. When he plays live, he changes solos up so much I wanna take his guitar from him. I know it sucks playing the same song over and over and over, but it has to be like the record. You're in the audience waiting for your guy to pull of a lick you've worked on for months, new players, and he skips it or changes it, you think, "WTF, dude??" At least I do.
There wasn't a lack of music quality that was caused by Schenker or someone else. The 80s are now over and Hard Rock began to lose popularity, that's all. There are still many that are jealous because they never got such skills as Schenker still has. If Schenker had been died from drinking, he would be touted as a good, like Bon Scott. Than, people like you wouldn't post such a holy shit. If you don't like Schenker, just ignore videos from him instead of posting bullshit
This is an incredible performance for most vocalists. but not robin. He is straining really hard hear. really rare for him. Still worlds better then most

This is from Daytona Beach FL. 1990 during spring break. MTV was covering spring break and took up a whole hotel there.
mtv covered spring break annually and some of the better 80's hair bands would appear. this is classic footage.
