Saw Mcauly /Shienker group in 92 in a tiny club packed wall to walk Black crowes opened was like before anybody even knew who they were, I've never liked them myself.. Met Michael after the show got some killer pictures and like out of some dream he let me hold /play THE FLYING-V the Gibson with the broken headstock that he had forever, was ever thing I could do not to completely geek out and humiliate myself but somehow I held it together. I've been playing guitar for 30 years now myself and Michael's like one of my top influences like most guitarist from that era so this was like one of the biggest highlights of my entire life by a long shot.
I seen them about the same time. Small club with the black crows. Great show. Got to meet Robin before the show. I had him sign the Grand Prix album samurai. Blew his mind .

Hey Bob... I lost touch w/what and where Robin was in his career and my sister and I went to see SURVIVOR at the Monterey County Fair 2 yrs ago. The fair has a big name act play a FREE show every year on Thurs night. (in 2012 Foghat, 2010 Night Ranger) Well, I see the singer and I can't remember who it is and then it hit me... ROBIN McCAULEY!!! Then the guy next to me hears me tell my sister and he tells me he's been w/them for the past 5yrs. He sounded great doing the SURVIVOR stuff.
the reason i think 4 the scorp tunes is, 1st off, mike co wrote piece of meat, lovedrive and coast 2 coast, he played on the scorps lovedrive albulm, word on the street is him, rarebell, his brother rudy r forming their own group., so he prob wants 2 kind of hint 2 every 1 by playing some scorp songs.
Ya I saw them when they were here...was a bit disappointed as well, would love to have heard them do This is My Heart, What Happens to Me, Anytime and some of the rockers...

Michael played on 5 songs from the Scorpions Lovedrive album, he received credit for playing on 3 of those songs, Lovedrive, Another piece of meat, and Coast to Coast. He did not write or co-write any of them. If you know Michaels work, you wont need "credits" to figure out the other two songs he played on.

Schenker hasnt played any McAuley/Schenker tunes in years. I think it's because Michael viewed this period as "commercial" and wanted to get back to his roots.
I don't like these live videos. Can't ever hear the singer or even the words of the song. All I hear is loud guitars. I hope there is a studio cut that I can listen to

Robin is still a fantastic vocalist.Many singers from the 80s metal bands just lost it,and can't hit the notes anymore.
Michaels guitar skills are beyond anything of this world! Robin's vocals are killer. 👍
