      @@Artariastein Steht in der Partitur. Wenn man es spielt wie es da steht, dann klingt es völlig anders als hier. Wobei hier eher das 2. Horn und/oder Dirigent versäumt haben das umzusetzen was Brahms wollte. :) Das ist so, bevor man auch noch über die Ästhetik befindet. M.E. ist das auch viel zu brutal gespielt. Das soll ein Liebesgruß (an Clara) eines Alphorns aus den Bergen sein. Kein Aufruf zur Schlacht.

      Nick Johnson Many horns are made so that the 4th/thumb valve can be adjusted to make the horn lie in either Bb of F according to the players preference. In this case it is as I described. I think.

    • @thomasmittler2231
      @thomasmittler2231 7 лет назад +15

      In Germany, most horn players start to learn playing on the Bb horn, which is why we normally choose to have our thumb valves fixes F/Bb. At least with Alexander horns(like the Berlin Phil uses) you can easily reset the thumb valve yourself. All you need is an ordinary screwdriver.

      I was afraid to mention this because these musicians are all on another planet regarding their expertise but this horn solo from Stefan Dohr (which I admire as a French horn player myself) is just a little little little too much. You can also see that it costs a lot of air and energy (especially when he slides off that note at the 0:32-0:33 mark).

      He’s not puffing checks, but more so creating more space in his mouth probably for pitch and projection

    • @hu954
      @hu954 3 года назад +5

      He does not. Since he goes from a higher note to a lower note, he has to relax his embouchure quickly in order to maintain a consistent pitch and sound while smoothly transitioning to the said lower note. So to do this as quickly and efficiently as possible, brass players will relax their cheeks in order to quickly adjust their embouchure, to allow more air to flow because you need more air for lower notes than high ones. This and puffing your cheeks are totally different.

    Falsch gespielt. Die ganze Phrase muss über 8 Takte akustisch ununterbrochen ohne hörbare Atempause durchgehen. So hat es Brahms mit unmerklichen Ablösungen zwischen 1. und 2. Horn geschrieben. Hier völlig ignoriert. Sinnlos. Schade. In den Flöten wird das dann im Anschluss besser gemacht.

      @@Wanderer1202 Ich kann dir nur zustimmen, nur möchte ich anmerken, dass solche Entscheidungen wie eben hier das "vulgäre" Solo oft, bzw. eigentlich meistens, vom Dirigenten aus gehen.
