Thanks to LOFT music for uploading that! Great enjoy of Richard Strauss shining rich music. Special thanks - to beauty mrs Marie-Luise Neunecker, the Great Horn Mistress!
A truly gifted hornist. I wish I had sounded like that when I played it. The best years of my life were spent as a professional French hornist. What a gift this woman has!
Ms. Neunecker is one of the most influential horn professors in Germany. She has many students in the top orchestras.
That sound amazing but... is halloween?
Better than 95% of pros. Damn, that was beautiful, poignant, forceful, graceful, everything you could ever want from a horn player. She even added her own rhythmic style! This is a very rare example of a pro making a piece of music truly their own.
This is a youth concerto by Richard Strauss. His father was onr of the most celebrated hornist in Germany. Much later, he wrote a second concerto, which took into account his evolution towards a personal postromantism.
Quite the dress. Never knew Fred Flintstone played the French horn
That dress though….😂
I have to learn this for my freshman year of honors band Lord have mercy
Note, her fingers are always over the keys, she has 100% control of them and the fatigue levels are reduced upon them
After 10 years on brass instruments (horn and cornet) I graduated from high school and never played again. In the mid 60s music like this was not available to the masses in a small town. So I never knew how absolutely beautiful the horn was till I started surfing the net. One hopes that this exposure will nudge kids now playing into a more dedicated pursuit than most students of my time. The sheer number of OUTSTANDING hornists blows me away. Ms. Neunecker certainly numbers among them.
I like the sound a lot. Listen to this and immediately after this Peter Damm's rendition. That will show you that the horn is not an instrument. The horn is a world.
What a God given talent, exemplary music!! Love it!! Thank you for sharing...

When we played this song, I completely fell in love with the sound of a french horn
A true and deep interpretation of Strauss’ hornconcerto!! Gorgeous!! Bravi!!
I got nostalgic for some soothing French horn sounds and found this video.
Beautiful location. Stunning Horn performance, perfectly accompanied. Thank you.
