- Wikipedia:
"Vers la flamme (Toward the flame), Op. 72, is one of Alexander Scriabin's last pieces for piano, written in 1914.
The melody is very simple, consisting mainly of descending half steps, but the unusual harmonies and difficult tremolos create an intense, fiery luminance. This piece was intended to be Scriabin's eleventh sonata; however, he had to publish it early because of financial concerns. Hence, the piece is labelled a poem, rather than a sonata.
According to pianist Vladimir Horowitz, the piece was inspired by Scriabin's eccentric conviction that a constant accumulation of heat would ultimately cause the destruction of the world.[1] The piece's title reflects the earth's fiery destruction, and the constant emotional buildup and crescendo throughout the piece lead, ultimately, "toward the flame"."
Brilliant!! Late Scriabin often sounds mid-century to me putting me in mind of a film noir anti-hero in a climactic scene. I hear him in the film music of B. Kaper. This brings out the grand emotions of the piece.👍👍
By far the best orchestration of the piece I've heard, amazing job!

Of fire.
Are you using Noteperformer for this? I think I recognise that oboe patch lol
Sorry for the late response. Yes, this is indeed Noteperformer. It's one of the best things to happen to me as a composer, haha.
@@btat16 Sounds crazy good.

its synthesizer, not real orchestra. and very poorly orchestrated by a student.
It sounds to hard for orchestra, especially part with trumpets.
You try orchestrating it then.
if you want I made an orchestration of it which I hope is not too bad, with real instruments and good recording ruclips.net/video/ti9e7ccx7yE/видео.html
check if you like :)
Yes, the creator said it himself, its not a real orchestra.
Don't be jealous that people like his work, I assume you're maybe a very hard working musician, but as I can see, you get no recognition of your work, so I advice you to work further towards your success and support people who are on your level, don't put somebody down if you are not good enough yourself. Take care and I wish you a lot of luck (no sarcasm)
@@farrukhgulamaliyev9948 Hi, if the comment is for me (which I hope is not) I don't see your point. I haven't told this orchestration is bad, just I hope mine is not too bad and wanted to share stuffs as it concerns the same piece :) If your comment is not targeting me so my bad, just don't want to make ppl feel I do better or whatever. Just wanting to share things. All best !
The orchestration of the last part sounds so funny. The strings at the higher register sounds particularly like typical horror flicks music.
Jazzz I really tried to find another way to transcribe that part to make it less “screamy” but the notes were sooo high that I could barely find any instruments that could even play them : ( I guess I’m just not knowledgeable in orchestration to do it and need more practice.
@@btat16 Would trumpet work? That's actually what I had in mind since the "burst" of flames (supposedly) would seem more powerful when played by the trumpets. String sounds too thin for me. Or if one wants to create a "floating effect" of the flames maybe piccolo is a choice. What do you think
Jazzz hmm. The register is too high for trumpet. I think only the piccolo, some pitched percussion, and violin can reach notes that high.
Jazzz wait, could you perhaps be referring to a different part than what I’m thinking? (The high pitched “hits”)
@@btat16 It's about the same since the pattern is always using the strings to make the "hits" but I guess I don't really know anything better. I googled it and found this instrument: "piccolo trumpet" but it has a really weird sound.
