In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Every task this feels a little more like a saw trap.
This task reminds me just how good the series 1 and 2 casts were, and how I wish we got a full 10 episodes with them both.
Considering how much he hated his experience with the show, I wonder if Doc would have survived the show if he was in there for 10 episodes.

@@KatieRuby In addition to that, I think his biggest issue with the show was that in general, he doesn't like watching video/audio of himself.
I hope that, if Josh is ever on the show again, those 5 points will be awarded to him since he *did* earn them.

To be fair he won the first season by 1 point and you look back at how he actually got 1 point extra over Romesh, he doesn’t need the extra 5 points here as they’ve done him the favour already

There used to be (and still may be) an app called Sensense that was exactly this. It's both bonding and rage inducing. Maybe see if it's still a thing!
Seeing Joe stroll with a smile and hug everyone made me feel happy for some reason. I know he's only playing a character but it's nice not to see him depressed/grumpy lol
A compilation of previous contestants making a cameo appearance would be good. Some other examples are Tim Key in Noel's duck marriage, Romesh in Sian and Joe's ball catch task and Al Murray in Joe Lycett's camouflage.
And lest we forget..."Richard Osman."
They got an advantage because they already had each other's phone numbers!
Hope they return to the park near the Taskmaster House for the away stuff in the future. Airport, Plane Museum and such are great, but was cool how much they used the area around the house in the earlier seasons.
I suppose nowadays external location filming might be difficult with crowds - similar to when Dr. Who is filming. Everyone wants to see Taskmaster being filmed so they have maybe moved to more controlled environments as the shows popularity has soared.
A perfect example of the incredible task building capabilities of Little Alex Horne.

I think in more recent series they would probably have taken their phones. The rules seem stricter lately.
The little reunion at the beginning is so cute
This task always makes me wish that previous contestants were brought back for more (not all) team tasks to join the 2-person team. I'm especially thinking season 4 with the cling film bathtub/different items/fill with water task Only Noel was filling with water, but having someone from a past series do that on Hugh and Mel's team could have been fun!
Yeah the group of 3 were so much more chaotic and dynamic, so it was funnier although the way Hugh and Mel just kinda worked together was rather sweet. Still one of my favorite tasks, and I think that this is a design space I could see being explored more. All 5 contestants do the task at once unknowingly, and just run into each other mid-task.
I could see it working really well as a giant maze task where you just turn a corner and see someone else also searching.

Pretty sure Katherine single-handedly got cell phones banned from Taskmaster in future series because I don't think I remember anyoneever using cell phones after that even for tasks where the use of a cell phone would've made things much easier on the contestants. Katherine used it in this task but also in the Make a Mess and Clean It Up task and the Speak to a Swede task. She didn't actually cheat but she trivialized all 3 tasks.

@@PhilipWester There have been several occasions contestants used phones since then. Series 9 featured them quite a few times, such as Ed looking up the translation of 'umiliante', the Greg portrait task and David calling a friend to ask him where the hip is located. Jamali also used his phone to cheese a couple of tasks in series 11, same for Bridget in the Learn Swedish task in series 13 to essentially do the same thing Katherine did.
Also in Katherine's defence, using her phone for the mess task wasn't exactly an instant win, it was just another interpretation of the task that just happened to involve the use of her phone.
@@iliketrains3495 Hmm... I haven't actually watched any series besides, like, 2 in full. Just saw a conspicuous lack of phone use, so I assumed nobody was using them anymore. Haven't seen any of those tasks you mentioned.

I do miss seeing the contestants react to themselves and each other, I wish they'd go back to how that was done in previous series

I always forget that "Little" Alex Horne is actually fairly tall.
He's 6' 2" and Greg is 6' 8". I had to look that up when I saw Greg standing next to one of the Taskers and I just couldn't believe how tall he was!

Let's be honest. They started doing it like 6 years after all other channels are doing this.
The prompt's not really a problem but the sound level is - way more decibels than the actual show.
in regards to the potato hole controversy, the toe that was on the red was hovering the red green and not actually touching it, so in conclusion Joe shouldn't have been disqualified based on the aerial view alone
3:30, the editors edited his voice, to make him say "shit whats my number" so they didnt reveal the number. You can see his mouth out of sync, and him genuinely being shocked when the clip played

In the early seasons phones accelerated many task solutions ("Get the info from Fred the Swede", "Carry this rock away") It's clearly got restricted (or forbidden) in the later episodes.

The only way today could be coming soon is if I read this yesterday but if I had read it yesterday then yesterday would have been today but not today, today would actually be tomorrow but yesterday would have been today but not coming soon since it would be in progress as today.
