Once you’re done with these you should rank every year of Lego SW. Edit: Since some people are confused I mean put each year against each other and rank them.
“I just dont get why mace windu would have a purple lightsaber and not a purple starfighter” soo by that logic obi wans starfighter wouldnt be red it would be blue?
Well, the purple is part of Windu's character, Samuel L Jackson made a specific choice, therefore it makes sense to have his starfighter purple. How many other well known characters use a purple lightsabre and how many use blue ones?
Here's a fun fact: The speeder bike build in the ARF trooper battle pack and the speeder in the Battle Droid Ground Cannon are the same build!! The battle pack one just has a green stripe instead of a crinson red stripe (in the cannon set)! R0-BA, signing out!
So good thing there was the fact that you could buy both, and have almost identical speeder design. They would match. Also, I think those were one of the best BARC speeder design lego has made. The 501st battle pack one was REALLY over-sized.
the 2011 Millenium Falcon is my favorite. It was one of the first sets that I saved up for and bought with my own money. 13 year old Jake was so happy to get that
Jedi T-6 shuttle is one if my favorite sets of all time. The minifgs were just too good especially at the time. You also really did the with nightspeeder dirty cause the minifgs are absolutely amazing.
2011 was a GREAT year for Lego Star Wars. I also got my first Star Wars set, 7913, that year after watching the Clone Wars for the first time. It was a genuinely amazing year.
Remember back when projectile-based play features were actually integrated into the sets instead of being haphazardly slapped on? Those were good times. If Lego has made me nostalgic for anything, it's for times like that.
This was the peak of lego Star Wars for me, I only kept 3 sets from when I was a kid but I’m glad I held onto the Falcon and pod racers from this year. Two great sets!
I'm still mad that you put The Sith Night Speeder so low on this list because that set was nostalgic to me as it was my first lego sets and one of my favourites
My favorite set of 2011 was the Millennium Falcon because I remember first getting it when I was 9, it was my first thousand piece set ever. I remember spending three days building it. I was so proud of myself afterwards. 2011 was one of the best years.
I saw the ISSD in person. It was winter 2011 and I was about 6 or 7. I was in Asia visiting my cousins and one night we went to this guy’s house who was my uncle’s friend. Me and my cousins stayed in this tiny, dark room and there it was. It was the biggest LEGO set I had ever seen. It looked so cool! He had it next to the TV and he might’ve glued it. I was very careful not to touch it. We spent the rest of the time at the house playing Modern Warfare or something. My cousin was the oldest so we watched him play and fail this mission over and over. It was a fun night. I don’t know why I had such fond memories of that night in particular.
Small criticism, when comparing one set to an older version could you show the previous editions just briefly? You said how the pod racer I think was much better than the 01 ones but being I wasn’t born then I don’t know that improvement
You should rank every Lego Star Wars minifigure. That no doubt is a lot of work but that would be awesome. Edit: I just realized, what if we got a Naboo Royal Starship set with either Episode 1 figures or Episode 2 figures? Even more unlikely what if we got both in a UCS version, if a UCS version could even be popular enough to exist?!
This box art is so nostalgic for me because the bounty hunter assault ship or whatever it’s called was my first ever Lego Star Wars set (I’m young) so that’s definitely gonna be my favorite from this wave
Jsyk I was playing an intense mobile game and the notification for this video got me killed. Heck you and I'm still gonna watch this because I like you.
That damn imperial v wing was the set that got me out of my dark age and cause many poor financial decisions since for little pieces of plastic. I both hate and love that thing.
7596 is the best set of the year and it was my first set so maybe I have some bias. I love Ewoks so much and Logray is my favorite. Ewok village is a close second though.
The UCS set is still one of my favourites overall. The detail work on top is amazing and the build was one of the most entertaining I've had. As for regular sets, I sold off almost all the play sets we had (about 120 of them) when my son was done playing with them. The only one I kept from this year was the pod racer set. It just looks too good on display. And, oddly enough, it's value has not gone up as many other retired sets, so I held on to it. Anyway, very entertaining post as always. I'm always interested in your perspective of all these sets.
IDEA: give away the set of a fans choice (from what ever year or theme it is) from the worst to first video (say it’s worst to first 2008 sets they write a comment and say what set they want and you pin it and you somehow get it out to them idk or you do the same but it is the first set on the list that they get. :)
My favorite had to be the Mace Windu star fighter, I remember getting that from my grandma for Christmas and I guess I just have loads of nostalgia for it.
Story time: I’ve broken my arms 4 times, but, on the 3rd time I broke it, my grandmother visited and at a Walmart she took two pictures of lego Star Wars sets. One was the Jedi shuttle, and the other was the imperial v-wing, I don’t k ow why, but something drew me to the v wing more than the giant Jedi shuttle, but yeah the v wing was really cool and I didn’t regret picking it
I pretty much had all 2010 and 2011 star wars sets when i was a kid. I really wish i took care of it all now. It was all mixed up in loads of boxes and thousands of lego was sold for 500 pound
Not gonna lie, I think the Millennium Falcin was really great. Mostly because of the minifigures. The build was also great, but that's because my favorite movie was episode IV.
