    No GPS so the Avata is *NOT* SRID compliant (despite DJI's declaration) -- unless you only fly with your phone connected which is still not compliant because SRID must not be easily disabled (which unplugging your phone would do). Looks like another self-certification fiasco under the FAA's watch 😞

      I'm definitely not an expert here, but I thought it was "ok" to broadcast the home location from the drone to indicate where the "goggles" probably are.

    • @xjet
      @xjet 2 года назад +2

      @@rcrdps8144 Nope, the FAA clearly state that the exact position, updated once per second, (including elevation) of the ground station must be broadcast in a standard remote ID system. They originally wanted to have barometric altitude information included to ensure sufficient accuracy but finally settled for GPS-level accuracy.

    Previous DJI P1 chip was labelled "V10R02" - this one is labelled "V10R03" - I fully expect that this new revision, R03, has changes from the one we see in the DJI FPV system previously, V10R02. I don't know if the DJI FPV goggles v2 had the R03, which allows them to connect to the Avata, or if on the old goggles, the Avata falls back to h264 because the old v2s had R02. "P1" might as well be called "DJI Occusync ARM SOC" - the version label is the critical bit.

    These goggles and the Avata gives a fair amount better performance and penetration than the V2 goggles even with patch antennas on a bunch of range tests already...
    What do they think they did with the transmission system to make for a difference between O3 and O3+ transmission systems when the power output seems similar?

    • @rcrdps8144
      @rcrdps8144 2 года назад +1

      Maybe these might be helping them:
      1. Linear antennas. Even on 5.8Ghz, my v1 controller is always much much better signal than my v1 goggles. Controller is on linear antennas, goggles on cicular polarization. MIMO can decode a reversed/reflected signal, so it benefits from not rejecting those signals like circular polarization does.
      2. 2.4Ghz. Pretty sure DJI documentation says the goggles stay on 5.8ghz, but some have said they see them switch at long range as long as you leave the channel on Auto.

  • @fpvtrendz
    @fpvtrendz 2 года назад

    @MadsTech Would you make a video using your scope to see what the power is of each channel in the goggles 2? I would like to know if channel 1 is lower power than channels 2 and 3. I would also like to know if channel 3 is the highest power at something close to or at 1200mw (I think it's mw, it may be just watts can't remember lol). I'm asking because on my goggles 2, it seems that channel 2 is the lowest power state as I can't go more than about 100 feet before the mbs falls so low I get breakup. It also seems that channel 3 I can go the furtherest. So that may have already answered my question but I would like for you to test it. Thanks!

    If they do the advanced video processing on the E3T, what does that mean for the Avata performance with the V2 goggles? - Do they switch to a kind of compatibility mode with less performance? - Should affect range and penetration.

      So I was getting ready to purchase the Avata since I already had the V-2 goggles. Flying FPV with them. Is there really a big enough difference from the V2 goggles to justify purchasing the Goggles 2?

    • @rcrdps8144
      @rcrdps8144 2 года назад

      @@nmfireman Depends on who you ask. Some folks are more sensitive to video quality differences, some are more sensitive to fitment issues. If you've been sacrificing some latency to fly in HQ mode, then you might be the type to enjoy Goggles 2. If you were good with LowLatency mode, then maybe not. I was on v1 goggles, and I wasn't about to buy "old" v2 goggles when new stuff was coming out,... so it was G2 for me. I flew HQ and have always put image quality first.

    will wait to see what HDzero has to offer ..........

    • @KOrnhOliO1
      @KOrnhOliO1 2 года назад

      HDZero is great for racers, who want the lowest latency possible. Thanks really what their strong point is. 👍😎
      But, for freestyle pilots, DJI absolutely KILLS HDZero in penetration. You can't fly out 100m and then fly around a large grove of trees or bushes without it significantly breaking up, from lack of penetration. You might even lose signal completely. Watch most videos about HDZero, and they fly it in completely open fields! Nothing at all to fly around, because that's where it doesn't do very good.
      DJI can fly right around that same grove and not have any degradation in image quality at all. If they do have any, which I haven't seen that myself, it will be barely visible. DJI is also high definition and crystal clear, It's 910P with the V2 goggles, but to be quite honest, it looks even better that that in the goggles. Especially when flying a camera that allows 120fps! Where HDZero is much fuzzier and not nearly as sharp and clear. Plus, there's all that analog snow and fuzz. The two systems are truly worlds apart.
      If you are into competitive racing, for sure, wait. If you aren't, then the deal on the V2 goggles from DJI for $429, is too good to pass up! I own these, and with the newer foam, they fit great. I also added a FatStrap to get rid of their terrible strap. The goggles now sit up on my forehead very easily, where with the stock strap, they didn't and your hair looks like that grove of trees when you take the goggles off! lol I also got the iFlight Crystal antenna array and it's fantastic! Inexpensive too! Not only do you get the ease of just popping your goggles off and fitting them right in your backpack (no removing antennas), but the signal is improved. I added the URUAV analog adapter with the V3 metal case to give me the best analog image quality I've ever had! But, I will be honest...I rarely fly analog now that my image quality with DJI digital is soooo damn great! But, flying with analog is better than my analog only goggles, which I thought were damn good...this set up is much better! Analog and digital with one set of goggles is fantastic! And, it fits really securely on the side, and doesn't interfere with the iFlight crystal antennas on the front. Slides off in less than 5 seconds too! A big PLUS! You don't have to have the analog set up on there all the time. It pops right off.
      Hope this helps! 😎🤘
