Wife had to work, so I made a quick trip to the tracks!

- My wife has to work 1 Saturday a month for a half day, so since she was gone in the morning on Saturday, I made a quick trip to Glendale just to see if I could catch anything on the rails.
I ended up getting 3 trains and I added a fourth train to the end of this video that I got there over a year ago with some very impressive power leading it.
I was joined at the tracks Saturday by @SimonsEMDProductions @GlendaleRailfanFrenchToast419 Buckeye Freight Railin` @GY51360 @CINOzzieTV plus railfans Martin and John. It was a good morning for sure!

61C, YES!, haven't seen this one in a while. You know I love my gondolas. Bent up, dented up, holes in 'em, rusted, saggin' in the middle .. just put a new wheel set under 'em and keep them rolling .. and oddly enough, you rarely see them in derailments.

Thank you. Very productive. Huge mixed freights in sun! The Gondola train reminds me of trains on my local line. Although in UK much shorter. The trains I see are full of aggregate or occasionally fly ash from a power plant that burns refuse. Great captures thanks.
Thanks Alex. We have some power plants here that burn trash too. I knew that your trains were much shorter than ours. I think someone told me once that they run them like 50 to 75 cars max. That`s quite a bit shorter than the average over here! Hope you`re having a great day!
@1960gambit Thanks. Even shorter! About 20. Because a lot of lines have such an intensive passenger service plus the old infrastructure it would be impossible to run the sort of freight trains that Americans do. Why I enjoy your videos!
I think longest are about 775 metres.

It's supposed to hit the upper 30s up here in Rhinelander but then go back to the freezer the rest of the week with highs around 20°F and lows in the single digits. Sometimes we have snow on the ground until the second week in May. Awesome Glendale action, enjoyed it much. Thanks Scott!

Great catches Scott, all of them 115 cars or better (168, 149, 115, 125). You estimated 148 on the 2nd one, my count (likely off) counted 149. All good trains. Thanks a lot.

Hey Scott, I haven’t been seeing Makail up there by the tracks in Glendale for the last month or so is everything OK with him or what but anyway my friend another awesome video and i’m glad you threw that last one in there because it did have some big power on it two GE’s upfront and then two GP 40-2’s and a SD 40-2 on it so yeah, that was a good train there but anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Thanks Timmy! Mikel has diabetes and can`t be out in the really cold weather because of it. He is fine, just waiting for warmer days. I got a feeling I`ll be seeing him there today since it is in the 50s.
you know Scott over a 100 cars with 2 engines climbing up out of Queensgate is probably the equivalent of the one engine wonder!!! and you have caught accrylonitrile before it's basically precursor chemical to liquid vinyl!! it's what they make those nitrile gloves out of!! as much argon is being moved someone is welding their ass off somewhere!! and i did find out why some cryotankers have do not hump on them according to the car dept guy if liquid hydrogen or oxygen gets banged around to hard they go boom!!
I never thought about nitrile gloves. That makes sense. Yes, if you bang hydrogen too hard, it`s a bomb. I used to use Argon all the time when I welded aluminum at work. I went through tons of that stuff. It dries out your throat and sinuses for sure! Have a great day!
i have always look at engine number. That comes from watching my friends catalog Never counted csrs But now i like to figure out how many cars is on a train by using the track detector Awesome video
I use the defect detector number and divide the axles by 4 after I subtract the locomotive axles. It works unless it`s an intermodal or autorack with articulated cars! Lol
Amtrak is 20 minutes late getting into Indianapolis
The last time I rode Amtrak it was 19 HOURS late.
