thanks a lot for these videos, you have a knack for conveying all the complex information of 6v6 for newbies. i have been playing this godforsaken game for 8 years, mainly jump maps and mge, but i always feared that my lack of knowledge would hold my teamates back too much. well, i know that watching a few tutorials won't make me a tf2 mastermind just like that, but i feel like your videos provide me the ground to lay my basics down cheers, and happy holidays!
Glad I could help! I was nervous to start playing competitive for the same reason, but I ended up signing for the newbie.tf team drive (discord.newbie.tf). Assuming it is the same as it was for RGL S3, they have you put in what class you want to play and if you want to be on a team with your friend(s). They give you a higher div coach to go over maps and what your role is. There are plenty of people who are just getting into comp so if you are on a team with them I guarantee you won't be holding anyone back. Everyone has to start somewhere :) PS RGL has a Newcomer division for a reason :D
im a t5 jumper but i play scout and med in 6s, every time i play soldier in a pug or something its poverty but these are helping me understand the class
I started playing soldier a week ago and I went from barely understanding rocket jumping to hitting sync shots and pogo'ing across the map mere seconds after spawning. I've played tf2 for about 11 years and I only have 40 hrs on soldier total, half of them are in the last week
Hello man, I love your videos and I think that they are REALLY helpful. Could you also do, a vidéo about advanced techniques. Like sinc roquette, strafing to avoid airshot, high bomb, leaving by roquette jumping away while looking at the other team and strafing around chokes without looking behind you. Because the good roamer that I encounter feel so precise and so smooth with their movements. What's so ever, thank you and Happy New Year !
I'll be talking about some high bombs in my upcoming episode. A lot of the other things you mentioned I can't really explain in a short video format, you just learn them by playing the game. I would recommend playing jump maps that challenge you to improve, and to practice rolling out and jumping around on 6s maps (if you have the developer console enabled you can do this by typing [map map_name], then when you load in [sv_cheats 1] and then bind [impulse 101] to a key of your choice). I think by playing jump maps you will get better at your movement and by jumping around on 6v6 maps you will build the muscle memory necessary to pull some of these more advanced maneuvers off.
May i ask you something: i am currently at the stage of collecting the knowledge at all, and currently have no idea where to start playing, because as much as i know, newbie mixes don't have European coaches and servers yet. So what, except for tf2center (for known reasons) would you recommend playing for the start. Also, i really want to know when can i start playing pickups, cuz the level of skill should be no less then mid, and i have to know from where this level of skill starts, like you know all collouts, you fight well or smth. So, hope you have answers to my thoughts, the video was helpful asf bro❤
These series have really been helping me! Have played tf2 for 10 years now and am trying 6s for the first time as roamer. Keep them coming
I am happy to hear this! Good luck with your 6s games!
P.S. I already have part of the script for EP 4 written :)
