I'm a 40 year old man, I just randomly clicked on this because of the title. I watched the entire movie and it's just so heart warming and great, I'm in tears and I don't really know why. We met Maureen O'Hara and her husband Charles in American Samoa in 1976. Her husband was a Pan American Airways retired pilot. She was beautiful and feisty. My son has a photo of him sitting on her knees when he was 4 years old

Maureen O'Hara I remember her from the movie The Parent Trap with Hayley Mills and Brian Keith.
Canadian Troopers were very impressive here. Fun movie. Maureen O'Hara always a classy lady. RIP my gracious beauty.
Canada doesn't have troopers! And no Canadian cops wear hats that look like dumb Texas Rangers stuff. Nothing in this show about Canada was even a little bit realistic, even the fake RCMP cars and officers, and the hotel, which was not a Vancouver hotel, and certainly not the Grand Victoria, which doesn't exist. The movie did have some charming parts though, and Maureen was lovely, as always.
By the way, only the dress uniform of the actual officers in the RCMP Mounted Musical Ride looks like the old fashioned uniform with the red coat, great big hat, jodhpurs, and tall black boots that Dudley Doright wore. Thank god the know-nothing producers weren't dumb enough to try to put that uniform on anyone in this. That would have been just way too funny!

Maureen O Hare had a full life, from an old town in Ireland, to America to a small Island, I am so glad she came back and completed this last film. A srrong and vivant woman.

Her last movie was the one after this. It was called The Last Dance and she was 82 when she made it. I’ve not seen it though but I’ve seen her third last movie called The Christmas Box, with Richard Thomas. It’s very good. It’s here on RUclips.

This time the movie did credit to the real thing. I would have enjoyed meeting the true adventurers who actually made this fun and glorious journey together. Thank you cast and crew for this movie. I decided to watch it because of Maureen O’Hara and then recognized Haley Joel Osment when he made his appearance. Special cudos to the actor who played him…loved his voice and persona. The character “Mike” is someone I would be honored to meet. Men like that still exist. They are living and are the future’s hope. God bless and thanks for sharing this with us.

I saw it when it was new, and I was searching it for almost 20 years, and finaly it have found me. Yes, I didn't find the Movie, it have foud me, and I'm glad. Now I will wacht it after 20 years 😀

I normally would NEVER watch a movie like this, even though I am a senior who lived a full earlier life like this old gal, but it kept me entertained from start to finish. I have found it too boring to watch someone else's daily life drama, but this was very well done. I'm more of a psychological thriller old gal or even an action-adventure fan.
From Canada, so that RCMP bit was a bit silly but tolerably funny.
Have always loved seeing Maureen O'Hara in anything, and she did not disappoint. Interesting that this was based on a true story! Enjoy.

@@islandgal500 yes we do. I have become better looking now than when I younger. I know this because almost every time I go the grocery store women come up to me and ask me for my phone number. Just the other day I left Walmart and a woman followed me home to see where I live. One woman pretended like she could not put dog food in her car and asked me to help her. She did that just to start a conversation with me. I like all the attention but sometimes it is annoying when I am in a hurry. It is nice to know that a man like me can have any woman that I want though. I love it.
@@JohnDavis-yz9nq We are a lucky pair then since we both have our magical mirrors that tell us that we are the fairest in the land. I just got out of the shower and put my war paint on so I look at least 30 years younger. Men follow me all the time, not only because I am a looker, but also because there is a shortage of women in this small town. Having millions and a lot of property doesn't hurt in attracting them to me either. I know it is my looks though because my magic mirror tells me so.
For me though it is just annoying when they try to get into my life because I find people in general are liars and not worth spending my time on. I find wit and brains more interesting now. Beauty will eventually fade and then we'd be stuck with a dummy. Have fun while it still all works.
@@islandgal500 I don’t have millions or a lot of property so I know that all of these women are not after my money. Not because a lack of competition either. There are probably more men than women in my town. I am just a heartthrob what can I say. I have something that women want. I try to dress down and that doesn’t seem to help. I go to the store after working outside in the summer all hot and dirty and smelly and that seems to turn them on more. Most of the women will bump me with their shopping cart to start a conversation. Women drive by my house wanting to see me outside a lot. Not everyday but usually a couple times a week closer to the weekend there will be a lot of traffic on my street. Sometimes it is a pain but most of the time I love being the cat’s meow.
Heartwarming movie, loved all the characters , had to wipe away a few tears.

@@danhansen9340 Dan you and I both know that no cab driver in Pasadena California is not going to drive an old woman to Canada for a vacation. The cab company would not allow it unless a butt load of money was paid upfront and even then it would be against company policy. So try to get your tears back. Tell them you want a refund on your tears.

Bravo and ENCORE! Definitely a must see film and probably the best I've seen all week! Beautifully written and directed and this held me from start to finish and I had to brush away tears several times and that's reality at its best and it sends a clear message about hope and making memories and taking risks and living the dream and realizing that sometimes in life that your best friends are your family and that's what counts...family doesn't have to be biological! We have an all star cast. Maureen O'Hara is brilliant as per usual and of course Haley Joel Osment, the award winning child star whose acting ability is so skillful that he can range in any genre without missing a beat and I will always love him. My rating 10/10.
@Lorraine Kasprzak Yes that was a great movie indeed. I’ve got it on dvd. It’s based on the same biographical story as the later tv series called The Waltons, though it was called Spencer’s Mountain rather than Walton’s Mountain. Henry Fonda is great in it too.

This was a nice film good story line different from the usual and great cast delightful .
What a dear dear and very heartwarming movie!! Everything about this movie was everything good except for the brief moment when a mother broke her child's heart. But she did him an enormous favor and gave him the chance for a good family. There aren't enough words to describe the goodness I felt in watching this story. Great story, great actors. Thank you.
I had to fast forward past the flaky mom part. I grew up like that.
