what an outstanding movie !! So true to LIFE !! Such love and respect !! Wishing Hollywood would continue to create SUCH !! Blessed 2023 to all the viewers !!
Yes, it is unfortunate that Hollywood has been taken over by a bunch of sadistic/evil people. I can’t even watch modern movies, the plots, acting and agenda they push are horrible
Such a lovely movie. I know what it feels like being a stepmother. Been there. It's quite hard being compared to their real mother. But in time, I MADE IT.
Same. Very hard. I wouldn't do it again unless the children were very young. Even though my stepson considers me his mom now. He's 40yrs old and doesn't talk to his mom but 3 times a year. She did many things wrong, broke his heart.
My father remarried when I was age 15. He had to sell our home because of medical and funeral debts. We moved into my second step-mothers' house. It was not pleasant I left home at my first possible chance at age 17..
Gosh, we so hope you're doing well & that your relationship with your Father has healed? Not sure of course IF that was a factor. Anywho, you're wished the best. "Isa"
Don’t hesitate to spend your free time watching this. Especially, if you’re experiencing a newly blended family. Everything EVERYTHING takes “time “. 🦋
I loved this Movie when it first aired on CBS. And in the past years, I’ve tried so hard to find it and watch it again. So I was so glad to finally able to watch it again on RUclips. Yes, thanks for uploading it!!🙏🏾
It’s easy to stay in your comfort zone. Everything is familiar they were all comfortable until Mom died. Then it got difficult. Anne Archer really showed how far she would go for love. Eventually James Woods showed his ability in moving out of HOME. Love both these actors.
This movie was very realistic and brought with it moments of deep emotional triggers and a wonderful resolution to numerous challenges along the way. I hope my words do not deter anyone from exploring it for themselves. I know my words would certainly have stirred my curiosity if i were met with them at the onset of this wonderful movie. When James Woods is in a movie I know that I will be in for a treat.🥰🥰🥰
I'm extremely thankful that I never had to go through anything like parents getting re-married or anything like that but I am enjoying the movie though!
Movies from the 70's, 80's & 90's are, to my mind, always worth watching. Before social media & cell phones. When people looked at each other when speaking.
Thats magic The magic of early tv when family movies were not only great but also had great settings great stories and characters where some amazing actors MnF popped up or began their journey They were good clean fun Unlike anything lately .... Thanks to uploader
Yes, I love this movie also!! I guess it was made for TV back in 1996 so whenever it was?! I love James Woods, though I didn’t remember his name and I love Anne Archer, is it?! I’ve seen her before in movies, but didn’t remember her name also!! Great actors and actresses, and I love the character that James Woods played!!! Such a loving man and husband and father!!! And I love Anna Archer also! And I love the girl who played the daughter and the boy who played the son, and the lady who played the maid/housekeeper, and the next-door neighbor lady who smoked and her husband, etc.! This is the nicest movie about this kind of thing, where there was a death in the family and someone remarries or there’s a divorce, etc.!!! It’s always hard for the children… thank you very much! Besides the stepmom coming in!!
I just couldn't continue to watch after the daughter's rejection of the pearls then the boy scaring her. Too! Much I really like James Wood's he is a real Patriot. ❤

The camera focused at street level looking skyward opposite a high-rise building. A car horn "toots" three times as if prompting the audience to something ... The viewer's perspective then turns to inside where Paul Clark (James Woods) arrives at Mary Parker's (Anne Archer) office, at this moment a most poignant dialogue begins, where their true feelings come to the surface.
Why get rid of items of the lost ones? There is domething called legacy. So don’t be selfish and erase the memory of your lost ones just put away their things in a box and stash it somewhere out of your sight. One day say like years after or even decades.. those things are going to be very dear to you and you’d want to go through them.. fondly remembering the person who owned them. I wished I had my things abd I’m still alive but dometimes miss the young me let alone the dead and gone. I kept Dad’s glasses for obver two decades.. sometimes when I wished he was there because I needed him I would touch the ily parts on his glasses and tryr to find any smell of him on it. I found comfort in that. But find him nearby closest when I catch a whiff of his favorite and only perfume he wore.. Tearose! Of course there are dear precious memories of him that I fondly recall but tangible memories are the ones that stirr emotions the most. Grieving and getting over are both parts of the healing process. Just be patient with yourself. 👋🏻
Maturity is a path we must walk, adolescence (13-19yrs) is all part of that journey. To those yet to reach that stage, it's difficult but it will get easier with time. I know someone in his sixties who behaves worse than spoilt teenager.
-Does your eife play tennis? -She died last year! If I was her.. -So.. did she play tennis or not? 😊 His response was wrong. It does not answer her question but yeah, of course we know the actual meaning behind such silly questions! But seriously, some people truly mean their questions and mean nothing else by all means so.. be careful not to pick up the wrong signals!
Ok movie. The daughter's mean and self centered behavior was atrocious. Almost couldn't watch the whole movie because of it. Do love James Woods and Anne Archer.
I'm in the UK and im not allowed to see the number of dislikes! It's like in the North Korea here now! Everything is being censored, books being removed from libraries, even scientific papers, not supporting our government's outlook continue to being removed from the libraries. We can get a visit from the police for a comment criticising some government policy! Call a person "he" instead of "she" and you'll get the police visit. Crazy, crazy life!
@@hookbeak2321 thank you, but I'm very saddened at the state of our country! It's like we're regressing! Universities forbidding students from using words like :man-hours, man-hole cover etc, not realising that the prefix - man, regards the human race, the man of this world, not the gender!! They're the educators but they're extremely uneducated themselves! In some universities the use of pronouns is banned, instead a new pronounce "zee" has been introduced! @babble2leeza I would never marry anyone divorced. Too much baggage. And no one with children either.
My father remarried when I was age 15. He had to sell our home because of medical and funeral debts. We moved into my second step-mothers' house. It was not pleasant I left home at my first possible chance at age 17..
Didn't like synching up with her I guess
Hope things turned out ok for you....

Ann has a beautiful smile she’s a real lady
Its refreshing to see good family movies like this. Funny to see James Woods in a G rated movie
Luuv Anne Archer. She's so classy, such a lady ♥️♥️♥️
And a scientologist, just fyi.

The little boy pitched so much better than she did, no one could have it that ball.
I spent 5 minutes with each of 6 movies today, before I stumbled on this one and stayed.
Such a touching movie! Loved it.

I have read the book many times and many times I have set it down to cry. Beautiful novel ❤️🩹
You must’ve imagined it brilliantly.. and as natural as can be. Every writer’s dream. I appreciate you.
I must say I really enjoyed this movie / Film it was really good I'm glad the daughter finally accepted her new step mom
Nice, sweet movie. Change is not easy.
Music is terrific too! ❤

The book is good if you can find it by Robert Kimmel Smith. Amazing that a man can understand a woman’s feelings and experiences

Beautiful couple! Great movie!
Where are all the genuine men today ? 😢
I think women are partly to blame due to today's values
We love James Woods!

With kids , just give it time.

Have you heard the great story "The Night We Burnt Our Grandma's Things" Barry Humphries.
Another great film
A nice and difficult family story...
This maybe a good movie, but the spoilt reckless teenage girl routine is too much!
Maturity is a path we must walk, adolescence (13-19yrs) is all part of that journey. To those yet to reach that stage, it's difficult but it will get easier with time. I know someone in his sixties who behaves worse than spoilt teenager.
Unfortunately accurate and many times way worse.
a 16 year old with no boundaries its bloody awful
Great Movie!
This is a really good film too watch 😊
The book is also great.

"Idiots?" Well, maybe, just maybe, those "idiots" have a DIFFERENT opinion than you...IS THAT OKAY WITH YOU???
Better to focus on the 610 who gave the thumbs up.

What a great movie.
A very good and descent movie
Kids can be such brats. Not only this situation, but everything.
Ah kids🤯My honest truth. ..my own grown-up kids are a 'joy'🤯🤯🤯
True.

THANK'S AGAIN BRO 😎.👍
Ps: Anne Archer 😎@💝 !
It's making me lmao already in the first few minutes.....this is gonna be good...🤣🤣🤣
A wholesome movie!❤️👏👏👏
Big fan of James Woods and Anne Archer, but this film really sucks. 28 minutes in, and I can't watch anymore.

As he should have.
Can't like it. From the start the children are rebellious and rude. This is my night off. Not my way of relaxing.
Super linda película ❤me encantó la recomiendo
good movie!
2:16 she throws them way to low to hit.. smh
Is this based on a true story?
Good movie.
Jesus wept. Will he never stop this Act.
Neither of my kids talked or acted like these kids. Unrealistic in my experience

I enjoyed the movie however James Woods has a stupid sentimental look on his face for 95% of the movie.
