    Hello! Just felt like watching a few videos on this system. I love it! I have 3 with the mke 2 and 1 with the handheld! I use a Zoom H6, and it works very well. Before Covid, I was traveling internationally and making videos about people doing good things for others. Hopefully getting back to it soon!
    For anyone looking to buy, try to find a used/secondhand set! I'm in the US, and have bought all mine on Ebay, Mercari or Offer Up. I spent about $500-650 on each set instead of the $1000!
    Good luck in the New Year everyone! Hopefully we'll all be able to get back to what we really want to do!

    Very well-done video. I feel better now as I just bough the MKE2 kit and I am looking forward to using it. Cheers!

    Does the receiver lose the charge when it's not in use? I charged it when I receieved it along with the transmitter. When I went to actually use it a few days later I noticed that the receiver did not come on. Do I need to recharge it prior to use each time? Thanks!

    • @DaniloAllen
      @DaniloAllen  2 года назад +2

      Knowing lithium battery’s I’d guess it might have a cycle to loose charge for longevity. I don’t know for certain though…
      For shoots I generally check the charge the night before and if it’s low I put it on charge so it’s ready for the shoot

      @@DaniloAllen Thank you for your reply. It appears to have lost the charge even though I had fully charged it after I received it. It did sit on my camera when not in use so I did have to recharge it again. Never had a device that lost the charge when not in use. Thanks again for your quick reply!

    I found this video while wondering if anyone was still talking about the Sennheiser AVX system, especially with things like the Rode Wireless Go 2 on the market. Did you consider that system as well? Thanks

    • @DaniloAllen
      @DaniloAllen  3 года назад +2

      I considered the Wireless Go stuff for about a second until I realised that if I wanted a lapel microphone they suggest using a SmartLav+ - which I've used and broken twice before. The Rode stuff is certainly a lot cheaper, but I chose Sennheiser for the professional build quality so I could have peace of mind when shooting

    • @patbollin
      @patbollin 3 года назад

      @@DaniloAllen Huh. I didn’t know that they suggested the SmartLav+ for it. I haven’t tried that. I have used a Giant Squid and a few others on the Wireless Go, and they work fine.

    Hi, is there any larger battery available for the receiver? The receiver battery only lasts four hours and I know you can charge it at the same time when you shoot. But, if there is a bigger battery it would be nicer to use. If they are available, where do I buy them? Thanks for the great video.

      None that I’m aware of, I think portable chargers are the go until you eventually can use Phantom power

    I have an AVX with MKE2 mic. The MKE2 sounds great, but the cable noise is so horrific, I just avoid using it now. I instead grab my old ME2 mic and pair it with the AVX. The ME2 has a high noise floor which I dislike, but at least it doesn't sound like someone's scratching their nuts with it throughout the interview.

    • @DaniloAllen
      @DaniloAllen  2 года назад +2

      🤔 interesting - I’ve never had the same experience with my MKE2, beyond the normal ruffle one should expect I’ve never had much of a problem with it. How were you mounting the mic?

    Hello guys, i'd like to buy it, but as a singer, in a P.a would you recommand it? And with that frequency plan, isn't there many chances to be on the same channel as a Filmmaker in a wedding, for example, if he has the same system ?

    Just used a pair of these on a shoot today. Long takes, about an hour each. Perfect quality...when they worked. The transmitter has excellent battery life and a good meter. The receiver only lasts about 1.5 hours which isn't great on the 2nd 1 hour shot. I had the receiver plugged into power...but it only works off of the battery!!!! Why??? That makes absolutely no sense. There is no warning that it's going to turn off in a half hour. There is only an LED meter that will ballpark it. You would think that if the transmitter (supposedly, much less in real world) lasts 17 hours, maybe the receiver would, too. Another issue is the mute slider. It slides way too easily. One of the speakers was on mute the whole time. Thankfully I had 5 other mics running and izotope saved the day. But for a $700 set, you would expect that they could run off an external and would not be able to accidentally mute.

    • @DaniloAllen
      @DaniloAllen  3 года назад +1

      Interesting. I’ve been able to charge the receiver and use it simultaneously multiple times without a problem. Maybe you had a faulty cable or something? That must have been very frustrating though!
      The battery is significantly smaller in the receiver and that is quite strange but I believe that at the high cost of this system, they’re probably expecting people to be using phantom power with the receiver so they decided to prioritise the small design over battery life.
      Bummer to hear about the mute switch, I haven’t experienced the same, but I also make sure every input is monitored in some way (either visually or with headphones - to know each track is live and sounding the best)
