Personally the RSV4 & Factory are my personal favorite Italian bikes. I was really surprised to see SC project going exclusively with Aprilia in Moto GP but when you hear the SC on the Aprilia it is absolutely brutal. That white is super hard, also like the black/white/gold color way for 24. I’ve seen a few in the roll race scene that shocked a few guys with max effort bikes. Will be real nice to see the finished product.

Yes, the Ohlins suspension and forged wheels are nice, but not worth the extra when you can have the Sachs stuff revalved to your requirements and a set of BST carbon wheels (shame Dymag have temporarily ceased their CA5 production as these have an extra lip that may just save your extremely expensive wheels in the event of a less than careful tyre fitter), and still have change for a slip on or adjustable rearsets.

I know it was a surprise to hear the S1KRR does not have a counterbalanced engine. Apparently very racebike specific thing. I only recently experienced the double R so fairly late to the platform. But as.
I imediately noted the extreme vibrations in fairly useless fuzzy mirrors at highway speeds, numb hands & less obvious until I added Gilles rearsets that eliminates rubber isolated exhaust mount. I’ve gotten used to it but when I roll my ZX10R it feels sooooo smooth. Honda smooth. Possibly the reason for vibration ?

A very nice video as always Motomillion. I am looking to get a 2023 RSV4 1100 (Base model NOT FACTORY) for my jump from a 650 street (2016 ninja 650) to a super sport. I am extremely undecided as a 2024 S1000RR (base model) is almost the same price as this bike but I still have to get financing (on which ever one I get) cause I still don't have enough cash... I have also been told by many people to stay away from BMW (we also saw the BMW problem on your channel and some others) and some have said that BMW looks a lot better than Aprilia (which I might agree with) but we know sound in Aprilia is a lot better.
As you mentioned about the dealer network and aftermarket support, I think Aprilia is trying but not trying hard enough and that's maybe one of the main reason we do not see much quality content on RSV4 or Aprilia in general as compared to anything else. I also agree with you on the thought that Aprilia is a very underrated bike (also why is your channel so underrated???) in the western market right now - I wish I could move to Florida but I am stuck in this Canadian April snow lol.
I would love for @650ib to do a video on this specific bike asap too so I can get more insights.

Broke down last year, left me stranded on highway.
Dealer had it for half a year, did nothing. Gave up trying to fix it. Avoided phone calls. Never called me back. Charged me for half hour diagnostic.
Another Ducati mechanic "fixed it" and now the starter is running all the time and off button doesn't shut it off. Constant issues with electrical. Time to retire it.

    • @pauln6803
      @pauln6803 6 месяцев назад +1

If the starter is running all the time, there's a very high probability it's your starter solenoid.
I made the mistake of cheaping out on an eBay special (if I'd clocked the seller ID I'd have gone nowhere near as I had dealings with this con man through his own website) when I was trying to trace the starting problem on my RC8R.
The solenoid literally melted as it couldn't handle the current and caused my starter motor to not disengage when the starter button was released.
Check the aprilia forums for the Yamaha unit that is probably cheaper and possibly sturdier, although the sturdier bit might be internet B.S. as aprilia used a lot of Japanese electrical components on the old Rotax V-Twins.

I don't know about Europe but here in America, a problem I frequently hear about is parts availability. I've heard and read about too many people whose Aprilia couldn't be ridden for months because the dealership was waiting on parts from Aprilia. It must be very frustrating for them to be making payments on a bike they can't even ride. The RSV4 is definitely a good-looking bike, though.

Well I bit the bullet. Bought a '22. Never thought I would. I talked so much shit about any bike that was not japanese lmao. I never thought I'd actually buy one
But a lot of the problems can be solved if you are a DIY person.
I solved all the problems and now own what I refer to as a "Japanese Aprilia" 😂.
Flush cooling system with distilled water first then
Change coolant out to 70% water/30%ethylene glycol mix. Remove and delete all emission systems (evap and eliminate all line)
    Servo and eliminate all lines.
Remove engine covers. Seriously, just do it
GET A TUNE. IT NEEDS A TUNE. Euro 5 tune is what kills the vibe on this bike for most people. I used gabro upmap
Also added gabro stacks, and sc project slip on. This is optional but you MUST get rid of the stock can. Get a cheap leo Vince $220 if you don't want to waste money.
No need to buy block off plates for the SAS removal
Just cap off the OEM plates with some good silicon plugs.
PLEASE USE 10W50 it doesn't run 5w40 anymore for God's sake.
10w50 ONLY. I use motul7100 . You can use whatever brand you like make sure it's 10w50 and top of the line. For me it's OEM filter ONLY. The inside looks completely different from the aftermarket filters.
Stator leaks because of the wire grommet. I took it apart and filled that b**ch up with so much RTV lol. No leaks anymore
Spark plug holes leak because the gaskets were not out right from factory. This is the most finicky thing to fix if you're not DIY inclined
Another minor leak comes from the starter wire. Haven't fixed that one as it is really really minor.
Engine braking known as AEB SET TO 1
if you set it to 3 IT WILL BURN OIL.
    My settings are
AEM 2 (1 is too twitchy)
    AEB 1
    ABS 2
    ATC 3-4
    AWC 1
I strongly recommend having a real professional adjust your suspension to your weight. I paid $80 to have mine done.
The stock seat is a piece of wood lmao but I don't mind it
6'0 bike feels as comfortable as my '21 zx10r.

      @elessar2619 10 месяцев назад

Oh and forgot to add, PEAK OET pink antifreeze at AutoZone is 100% compatible as per the service manual description.
Temp never keeps rising when at idle. Although I'm flying most of the time lol
The reason you need to do this is Aprilia decided to fill them up with 100% undiluted coolant lol. No water at all.
If your fuse #5 keeps blowing just keep a couple in hand lol
My friend had his rsv4 blow that fuse 6 times then it never did it again.
All in all. To me it's worth it just for the experience of owning something really different from what I was used to. So far 4k miles on it riding hard, slow, in between. Commute, joy rides, long rides, rolls, digs, no problems after I did all of this I described.
I can describe in further detail to help any fellow Aprilia riders out.
*** If you buy it brand new 0 miles. Break it in hard. Piston rings need vacuum pressure to sit correctly against the cylinder hone. Give it gas and then let off and let the engine brake. That's how you break in an engine
So I went 4k let off. For a while
      6k let off
      8k let off
Etc etc. i broke it in like that for a a few miles. Then oil change, and all these mods. Redlining every gear the next day lol. 600 miles break in my ass. Warranty is void anyway when you tune it.

I personally don't trust Aprilia as a 'reliable bike'(and 'Consumer Report' ranks it as one of the most unreliable motorcycles in the lineup of superbikes) since I've read well over 100 complaints(the same complaints at that) about how the bike shuts down right in the middle of riding on either the highway or the street, oil leaks, general unreliability issues, etc..etc...It's a piece of art and belongs in a glass oversized box and stuck in the corner of a garage for artistry purposes. On the bright side, Manny is simply doing what he thinks his customer base will like to see and even though I'm not subscribed to his channel, I'll come over to his channel once a month or so to see what he has cooking..

      @IN_ZANE_ 10 месяцев назад

@@Motomillion On this bike I think they're actually alright. Not exciting, just a good solid, functional mirror that doesn't look bad and the built in turn signals are cool. Based on that I would leave them as is. But it's your show so do whatever you want man.
It would be cool to see a new model of mirror come to market too, there's only so many times I can get excited about the exact same aftermarket mirrors that have been done to death by now.

Trust me, get stuck in traffic, fans come on and temps keep rising until it flashes warning. That bike has an undersized cooling system. Unloaded my 2023 quickly. A street bike that can’t handle the street - sad BUT beautiful bike and good honest review

Imo it is not really a street bike. Maybe overheating sitting in traffic, but no problems on track.

Manny says every bike is special 😂The R1, Ducatis, let’s not forget the Fireblade video and how he gushed, now the Aprilia. We get it though, all great machines and there’s a lot of parts to sell.

@@Motomillion I wasn’t referring to that, I was referring to how you state it’s “special” in terms of feel and ownership, like Aprilia made something extra ordinary. But you say that about all of them going back to the Street Fighter build. All great bikes, but in my opinion the only one that had something tangibly extra was the SP2. Just my two cents. Still love your content as always.

Aprilia needs desperately to improve the quality of their finish. Let´s face it, they are cheap looking plastics because they are in fact cheap. No doubt these machines are probably the best track weapons out just don´t expect Honda or Ducati level finishes. Shame really.

@@Niobium23 He's not hating Mani. All he's saying is that he once owned a bike identical to the one in the video and had so many problems with it, the dealership that sold it to him ended up buying it back. For the record, a few years ago, I test rode a new Tuono and didn't even make out of the parking lot because the rear brake failed. I pressed the brake pedal all the way down and the rear brake didn't do anything.
