Great video! Watch all your work shop and raceweekend videos. Would be alot of help if you could show how you block the adjuster block to the caliper bracket. :) It´s on my to do list this winter.
Great video, I pretty much did most of your mods on my own 2017 RSV4-RF but stayed with the standard suspension and got the guys at RaceLabs to sort it out for me. @11.18 you fitted that nylon end cap on the rear spindle for ease of sliding spindle into swingarm. Can I ask where can I purchase these from, I tried Harris Performance but they don't show this as something they sell. Many thanks Gio
I made my own, but spindle sizes vary loads so it's difficult to make production versions. Not a difficult job if you can find a local machine shop though
I have the 2023 base model RSV4. I'm looking into changing the steering damper for an adjustable one. When I look down there my model have a recess in the air tube right where the steering damper hits it at full left lock (it does not need that recess for the installed Sachs steering damper to work). Did this bike have that recess or did you have to push it in from scratch? What year is the bike? What I'm trying to figure out is if I have to modify my air tube or not when swapping out the steering damper. I would love to show you a photo of it! I'm suspecting this recess in my air tube might be new for the 2023 model after people having problems swapping out the steering damper (also heard that the Öhlins ones touch the air tube as well (the electric Öhlins on the factory are smaller than the manual ones on the earlier Factory RSV4s pre 2020)).
Quite a few points here as I'm doing a 23 Aprilia RSV4 track/race bike with my son using Motoforza fairing kit. I can see why you had trouble with clearances with levers on the fairings.. but you have used clip-ons which are non-raised like on the orig bike..The Bonamici SM51A raised seem to be the only clip-ons that will work with this RSV4 allowing levers to be pointed more down and not foul fairing or airtubes...Of course on your video having the rear brake on left hand bar will compromise the clutch lever which should be angled down to be comfortable even with up/down quickshifter..Just thinking dropping bars on forks prob make these clearances worse... Another thing that comes to mind but not proved yet is that we're probably going to try 15/42 gearing..(-1,+1 theory) ..( Worked on our GSXR 1000 K5 ) Be interested to know how the 16/43 set-up when on yours...Or if only 5 gears being used...
Renthal 20mm offset clip ons bring the bars almost in line with the forks, which may give more fairing clearance. I used a set with an old Mille R to stop the Brembo racing master cylinder touching the fairing.
Hi Dave, great vid. I have same bike and im thinking of stripping out electronic suspension on mine and getting ktech or maxton.. but the steering damper from ktech you got, was that meant for an rsv4 or you just had it in stock? Surprised ktech build stuff that doesn’t fit proper.. Cheers!

Dave, What brand and type of grease do you recommend for the brake lever pivot bolt that will not damage rubber seals. Thanks for another great video and cheers from Oregon.
I use a Motul tech grease. Or a little spray of GT85 which won't damage the rubber in that area. Many pivot bolts have a brass insert, which shouldn't need lube. But it won't do any harm
im quite a short arse. i really want an aprillia. but can you lower them. and what in your opinion would be the way to do it thanks.. love your channel.
Another suggestion for you aswell. You have put on the bike dymag up7x wheels which are very good. But not as good as original aprilia forged wheels that come on the factory model. For example the dymag up7x front wheel weights in at 3.17kg, where as the maltek aprilia factory front wheel weights in at 3.09kg. 👍similar for the rear wheel weight aswell.
That is very handy to know. Main reason for running the Dymags, aside from the lovely quality, Tim already had them and Dymag converted them from is previous bike
@@obsession_engineering no worries. I trolled net for weeks to see which were the lightest. Quite surprised to find out the original maltek were the top. Only snag is finding them readily for sale, eventually got a set. Aftermarket are probably best for track bike as if you bin it you can easily get replacement.

Can you please elaborate on how exactly you cut the zip tie that's closest to the ABS pump ( the one that's right behind the cylinder head) when you were removing the ABS lines? I have the air box off and was able to get the one up towards the front of the bike but the one by the back cylinder is putting up quite a fight.
I would say yes, it's necessary to remove the airbox. I wasn't able to cut the rear zip tie like Dave did. However, I was able to pull the ABS line hard enough forwards to break it. It took the help of a coworker and could have been very messy if I didn't do Dave's trick with glove fingers over the banjo ends. I don't believe it would have worked without removing the airbox and cutting the front zip tie. You won't have enough movement in the line or the leverage if you don't.
