So here is how I color my CDC feathers. In this video we are gonna color Fluo.Orange/Coral. * I use Veniard color. * Get your own colors here: nfisk.no/produ...
I used these instructions to dye mallard duck feathers myself. I had to wash them a bit more thoroughly and the intense fluorescent pink only came out after 50 minutes. But it was perfect for the mallard Magnus 👌🏻 thank you for the Content!!! ❤
@@northerntroutbuddy9432 Hi there. Thx. Yes, it sure is important to clean the feathers thoroughly before you dye them. The feathers I’m dyeing here are “pre washed” from the shop. I’ve also picked cdc feathers directly from a duck one time. Then I had to clean them good before coloring them.
Hi. Thank you sir. Well I’ve tried a couple of times to get that exact color. But never really got it. The closest I came was with a color from Jaquard. Named “Salmon Pink”. I mixed in som coral from veniard.
Nice work. Some years ago I did it by myself as the salmon speyhackles were rare. I used Jacquard Acid Dyes and it worked great. But there were no fluo colors.
Do You remove the Grey color form the Dove feathers, before coloring them in other colors. Or is it hen/chicken feathers. Salt in the broiling water would it help to set the color in the feathers, like when dying T-shirts’s and pants In another coloring the Laudry mashine?
Great colouring of a nice bunch cdc feathers👍🏻 I have an idea to dying some orange and fl pink cdc. How long would I wait/check in total, do you think?
Are you going to mix the to Colors? If you Check the feathers every 2-4 minutes. When your happy with the color you are looking for, set the color with vinegar. I haven’t tested that color combo before.
@@Mrfluefiske Yes, but I just thouth about it. I'm not there yet. Have an idea with a 50/50 blend mixed orange/Fl pink with The mind to compound two nice colors to make the fly to pop even more! Thanks to the reply Eivind 👍🏻

Hei Eivind, det såpe-pulver du brukte, hvilken type ( spesielt vaske pulver )
Jrg vasker fjærene med «Natural» vaskepulver til «hvit vask».

These feathers are natural white, from goose. Never used salt before, only vinegar.
