I'm pausing 10min in to say...I enjoy using DPNs, but recently have switched to knitting sleeves on a small circumference circular needle and there is no problem moving the work in the manner you describe on DPNS. You just need to get a few inches into the sleeve, I think, and it works great 😁

Hello, I live in Quebec, Canada. I purchased yarn from Wooly Knits (based in USA) but had to pay $70.00 in taxes and other fees (that was over and above the shipping fees I paid). On your most recent podcast you spoke about purchasing yarn in England, paying for taxes and other fees in Canada. You started explaining the rules (yarn purchase over $100.00) but you didn’t finish your sentence hence I am asking about the rules for paying for taxes and other fees in Canada. Thanks for your help.
Hello, I am in Ontario. I have not purchased from wooly knits because of the shipping. I have ordered from both wool warehouse and john arbon textiles and have never paid duties and shipping has never been more than $15 CDN.
My understanding is that you can get charged duties on foreign purchases over $100 but it doesn’t always happen. I think it has to do with what import code is used. For England though I brought it back in my bag so no taxes.

It seems to me that Test knitting is a bit of an addiction for some people.... it's a nice way to get a pattern before everyone else but when when you break it down, you could just wait a month or two and spend a few pounds/dollars and buy it and knit it at your leisure? No pressure and no deadlines... I have test knitted once before and it was a very nice experience but to have 4 on the go at once seems like a punishment and you're putting yourself under undue pressure. This isn't a criticism, we are all different but it seems to me these test knits are stressing you out! Good luck! ❤
They are a little but they are all going well tbh! It actually saves me quite a bit. Most patterns end up being around $10CAD. And considering most designers offer an additional one of their patterns that means I’m potentially saving $80. That plus the community makes most tests worth it for me!
