Excellent interview. I like the way Marc guides his interviews in chronological order and tactfully reels his guests back in if they stray. He also digs deeper on parts of the interview that others may gloss over....often stopping to ask the questions that many would like to hear answers too. Alice is a great guy and sounded like he really appreciated this interview. Well done Marc!
First rock concert I ever went to was Alice Cooper in 1972 at the Akron Rubber Bowl in Akron, Ohio. Dr. John was the opening act and this was Alice's Killer Album Tour.
I met Alice Cooper once. He was super nice, and actually took about 15 minutes out of his day, and told me some of the same stories you hear in this: Groucho, playing Beatles covers in his early bands, etc... It was funny where he said “the bigger the star, the more nice and humble they act”, I’ve always said the same exact thing (met lots of famous people when I worked at the airport) and always cited Alice Cooper as an example of this....How cool
I went to Cooper Town with the family and friends many times in Phoenix. We miss Cooper Town so much. It was such a cool joint. Funny story: my mom was the bus driver for me every year in school and every last day of school she always played Schools Out as soon as we got moving. It was a happy memory every year!
Alice cooper my first concert. 1974 or 1974 capital center Landover Md. he has always been a incredible force in music world. What a smart talented person. There first album was unbelievable. I literally played the album until I had to actually get a new album. Thank you Mr Cooper. Ah one more thing who can imagine Alice Cooper and Glen Campbell being golf buddies and good friends? That’s so cool.
Marc never knew he wrote all these great songs? HUGE real songs. Its not throw away garbage. Cooper wrote songs that Sinatra sang. Look it up people. My sister gave me the School's Out album but I went back.,.. and forth and... fell into the heart of this man Yes he is a genuine human being. Ohhh..Alice mentions Paul Butterfield... RIP Paul♥ Chicago Blues!! Hell yeah!
The first time I saw Alice Cooper they were the 2nd band on the bill at the Fillmore East in 1971.. It was the Love It To Death tour… the first band was Wishbone Ash, good band .. good musicians.., Then Alice came out and just blew the place up.. What the Fuck was that? THEN the headliner, poor Bloodrock had to come out and follow the Alice Cooper band … remember, we had just seen I’m Eighteen, and The Ballad of Dight Fry.. the straight jacket, the execution of the lead singer… Bloodrock just fell flat. I had to see it again so I went up to Boston to see Alice Cooper do a free show at the Boston Common.. After that I moved to Phoenix and whenever they played Phoenix I went… That Billion Dollar Babies tour was terrific.., Saw Alice in the airport one day and he was all smiles and nice as could be.
The problem with what Alice Cooper says is that it's hard to know what is true and not true. There are things here and there that don't fit and some things that he's already admited weren't true. The biggest thing is that we now know that it wasn't alcohol but crack cocaine that almost killed him the second time around. A few other things: Dada is a great album. They forgot that Constrictor and Raise Your Fist and Yell followed Dada, not Trash. RYFAY is also a fantastic album. Better than Trash, IMO.

You can tell Marc is loving this 😂

Alice Cooper was my first rock concert too but in 2005 for Dirty Diamonds. It's not just a concert, it's a full-on show, I loved it!

That was a great tour.. And seeing Dr John with him as an opening act must have been terrific

Good interview.
A forces of nature, Alice Cooper is 75 in 2023. Eric Clapton is 78, Mick Jagger is 80. Paul McCartney is 81, Ringo Starr is 83. Willie Nelson is 90.
Good interview
Man, I love Alice.

Yeah, a lot of these stories are really pre-packaged. But Alice tells them SO WELL. If anything, he is one of the best story tellers.
Typo in the title (Cooper)
Alice Copperfield .... ;)
Alice Gold
Alice? he still owes me $10 man
Alice Rocks!
The name is misspelled!!!
Alice doesn't live here anymore
Elvis, Beatles, stones/who, led zeppelin, guns n roses, nirvana.
I mean!.. music is NOT the usual!....Elvis is precious but... cmon man...
